McDermott wouldn’t be my top choice, but I’d be stoked if we got him. Sure, someone younger would be nice but the man is a great coach and could elevate IU right away. I don’t think he’d be some “settle for” candidate at all.

The issue is, none of this is dealing in “facts”. You thinking it’s a fact he ain’t coming shows you are just as bad as anyone thinking he will come is a fact. Actually, I haven’t seen anyone say that he is for sure coming, so you’re worse. You are either just trying to get people riled up, or you’re delusional enough to really believe you know something no one else does. Maybe both. Also, your “insight” that the Celtics job is better than the IU coaching job is subjective. He may miss coaching. Could be that simple. Or, he may want to be known as the man who brought IU back to blue blood status. So, continue to feel like you need to save people from their delusions on a free message board where most are just passing the time until we know something and having some fun in the meantime.

I read on the internet that confirmation bias is a myth and I believe that to be accurate.

I don’t have enough money to think about how I would donate in a coaching search but I don’t get the “only for Brad” thought. Now, maybe I’d give more for Brad. But if I’m willing to donate big money, I’d be willing to donate for several other coaches to turn this ship around instead of an all or nothing approach. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, though. But when my best donation is a Laurel and Hearty handshake, they just pat me on the head and make sure I don’t eat clay.

Agree but the people coming here and making fun of those who think it’s possible are the annoying people scoffing at stunts in an action movie. If someone thinks there is no way Stevens is coming, fine. They are probably correct that he won’t. But that’s not what some do. I don’t think there is a chance big enough to calculate that Stevens is still deciding on what to do. Whether he is going to be our coach has been decided. It’s not like he’s sitting there going….does pizza express still deliver only bread sticks?
