Seems to be the only explanation I can come up with. HSN has had issues whenever there was busy traffic (e.g., following a loss to Purdue, win vs Iowa), but this multi-day crash is unprecedented... of course Coach being fired is unprecedented for my time on the site.

Personally, I think if Lander were a 3 star recruit we would be over-excited and hyping him up at this time. The expectations would not have been insane and he clearly has great court vision and the ability to get to the rim (demonstrated in flashes). Like with Geronimo, we would all be projecting those flashes of brilliance...

Not that I don't think that Pitino would get us to the final four, but... if you count his time in the NBA, Brad Stevens has 5 final fours in 14 years (if you count this year and assume he won't make the conference final).

My real fear is not that my hopes are up now, but that we will be disappointed with a good hire because our hopes were too high.

So let me get this straight: The ENTIRE tournament is Indiana AND TV Ted Valentine will not be officiating AND IU did NOT make the tournament... we are cursed. This was our chance...

I hope he stays 2 more years and gets the opportunity for a deep run in the tournament...

If you listen to his youtube video on it, he does not really think it will be Stevens - just hopes based on a story of a friend. He did say if it is not Brad Stevens that he wants Dane Fife because he understands Bloomington and Indiana basketball.

I am not sure if he said that, but he definitely said they were "not excluding anyone."

My understanding is that most of that money will not actually be paid as long as Archie gets a decent job somewhere else.

I start to have real hope it is Stevens. The we will do what we have to for the right coach and the emphasis on preparing players for the NBA... All hail Augustus!

+1 the most obvious targets are going to say they are staying put no matter what. You do not want to end up like Missouri did when they said they wanted to join the B1G (when Nebraska was chosen).

I hope they do not research some of my old posts on HSN then...I pretty much support the current coach until he is not the coach. Edit: I did see the tea leaves turning the last week or so.
