Aren't we really only aware of one guy (Stevens) turning IU down? -

There will likely be a LOT of flights with teams and fans going home after losses. -
I'm a bit older and remember the days when IU & Wisconsin would be in a "battle to the death" 50-49 game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Epic defensive battles. Every point was more than well earned.

Gonna show my ignorance once again. Who is Fpeaugh?
-
Or Gladys Knight.
-
No stats to back this up, but it seems to me free throw %'s are not what they used to be.
-
It might be more a case of them not NEEDING Indiana, rather than not WANTING Indiana. I think there just a lot of very good programs out there right now.

Justin Smith has been playing really well.
-
Meanwhile, Rutgers is leading Houston by 10 in the second half.

Beard reminds me of a guy who, if he was just walking through a park, the sight of him would send small children and furry woodland creatures running for cover. HA!

I just watched the Arkansas vs. Texas Tech game and I wonder why either coach would want to leave their current team. Both teams are pretty darned good.
-
If you were addressing me, then yes, really. I have no idea who he is. To be fair, he probably has never heard of me either, so we are even in that respect. :)
-
That isn't the smartest thing I've ever read. He was in pain and took time off to get himself right. Nothing to do with loving coaching. Has more to do with loving being able to walk pain free.

Who the heck is Clay Travis?
-
I had a girlfriend who used to claim that the only reason they were stuck in the desert all those years is Moses wouldn't stop and ask for directions. (It was her women's version of a male driver joke, aimed at me once when we got lost)

Let's go back four years. Did any of the people with "insider information" actually get the Miller hiring right? I don't remember much except the Donovan stories and others hoping for Wright or Bennett or Whomever. How about previous to that? Did any "insider" get the Crean hiring right? I honestly don't remember much at all about the expert predictions at that time. All I'm saying is, it appears to be somewhat folly to put a heck of a lot of faith into any of these "insider" takes. Also that some of these coach's winning percentages that people complain about appear to be better than the "insider" track records.

You are right. The kind of post he left over there does nothing but foster speculation and bring attention to the poster.

there were other problems during Sampson's time at IU. Players not attending class. Drug and alcohol use. Just a total lack of control over the program.

He's just hearing "those voices" in his head again. -
According to the snippet in the post I quoted it is spelled Doyel. Was that a fake account he quoted or something?
-
Except if Bennett is still mad at IU for firing his sister. Plus, he seems a perfect fit at Virginia. Plus, Doyel has never had a clue.
-
You realize if you don't hire JB, that the "next guy" you are worried about might actually be the one hired in his place? So, if he "can't keep it going" after JB, are you counting on him to "keep it going" right now?

Guys are hesitant to interview for a job that is currently occupied. Can't blame them for that. -
HA! It IS an odd thing to feel good about, but I get what you are saying.
-
Here's something to consider. The job is still the same job. The school is still the same school. None of that has changed. Just because it was first offered to a "big name" coach with massive ties to the state doesn't change any of that. Has the job itself become any less attractive because Stevens said no? Not in my eyes. I would have to think any other candidates would have enough self confidence (or ego) that the idea it was offered to someone else first would not deter them. I would think it makes a prospect think "here's a school that is REALLY looking to do something big and not just tread water. I want to be a part of that."
