He’s got a 50/50 shot of being right. But he was singing the same tune right after Duncomb committed, so he’s thought IU was out for Trey since then. I disagreed with the logic at the time (and still do), but he was also listening to Trey’s former trainer who kept telling him he (the trainer) didn’t think Logan was good enough for IU and he seemed to be trying to steer Trey away from IU. Yeah, I get it. I can’t really speak for TK on this, but think that was just his way of letting everyone know he’s made the decision. I sometimes wish his top 2 were like UofL and UNC so that way I don’t have to stress about his decision. Or, better yet IU and ANY OTHER school except Purdue and UK as his other choice. Because at least if he doesn’t pick IU, he can pick another school that I don’t hate the way I do. Lol. So, if he does pick Purdue, that will suck watching him play for them. I selfishly hope it’s IU because I coached him and I love IU, but also too I want IU “the program” to benefit from having Trey as part of their family. He’s such a great person to be around, one of the most unique and mature teenagers you’ll ever know. IU’s tradition will be better for having him (if they get him). If UVa wasn’t so far away, I would be pretty concerned with them. He’s built a good relationship with Bennett and they really prioritized him, as their 2021 class really hasn’t taken shape yet. But distance from home should be one of the biggest factors in this one, plus he’s more familiar with the players locally since he couldn’t really do the official visits. That matters to him too. I would say either one of UL, UK, or Xavier. Not that UK has recruited him hard or even offered, but he might include them for “added value” to his main groups (as much as that pains me to type). The staff has been very consistent with Trey. They’ve done a good job showing him how minutes are available from Day 1. Also, Ostrom has built a really good relationship with Trey and the family. I would say more so than any of the other programs. I might have posted it here once (or maybe it was another IUBB site), but I witnessed firsthand the way Ostrom interacted with Trey’s mom and younger brother after a home game when other coaches were standing together by the locker room. The other college coaches were standing there quiet and not really engaging with the family and Ostrom almost looked like he was there with the family.
