Article was wrong on one thing ....freshman record for a game is 51 and he did It against Monroe central ....55 was career high against Elwood as a sophomore which he repeated against Daleville later that season and matched this year in overtime against Winchester ....also the Bruins didn’t “ make a state title run “ his sophomore year ....unless there author considers a state title run getting beat in the first game of sectional ....beat may be a very generous term I’ll note

I agree with your point it would have put some debate to rest ...but little sisters of the poor is a bit too exaggerated ...they have worked their schedule to include higher profile teams each year ...Blackford has 4 total cupcakes on its schedule that kill their rating and I agree those four should be switched out but the rest of their schedule is respectable ....next year they will have the previous 3 2A champions on their schedule as well as the previous 1A champion and 1A runner up at the hall of fame classic .....playing at new Albany and andrean on opposite ends of the state ....also will have mississinewa who spent all this past season in the 3a rankings .....it’s not necessarily a 4A gauntlet but for a school their size it’s no longer a joke of a schedule especially if you cross out their three weakest opponents

The summer sessions were where most of his offers came from but I actually think most bigger schools are following your defensive thoughts on him ....I don’t think any power six was gonna make him a first option because of his size and how they might translate on defense ...I think his power 6 offers will ( or would have) come late this fall after schools had free spots open from recruits they offered who committed elsewhere

Hey coop ...I can Answer those in itemized fashion just give me about fifteen minutes ...Stu and I have had many discussions in this forum and I respect his opinion greatly but there have been a couple points we have respectfully disagreed on ...my opinion is difficult to not view as biased as a Blackford fan but I have seen every shot he’s taken ever assist he has thrown and every turnover he’s made his entire career and I’ve been fortunate to see many local players ( central Indiana ) that have gone on to extremely successful college careers so while I’m a huge fan I’ve also tried to objectively compare to what I’ve seen in the past as well and you can take that for what it’s worth ( oddly enough hulls is the player I watched most as a high school player )

You know I’m on board with that .....I’ve been blessed to see some kids at the high school level that have gone on to have very successful college careers and his IQ is just unique and it clearly stands out

I agree ...it also shocked me that in the 17-18 season he was the ONLY one in the state ...anytime you’re the only one of something it is worth paying attention to

End of year update : -brown named Indiana junior all star -Brown picked by IBCA to Supreme 15 underclassman -brown selected all-state third team by AP...the 15 all-state players were made up of 9 seniors and 6 Juniors - finishes season 66/40/90 ...second time he has finished a season 50/40/90 ( his freshman year he was the only player in the state out of over 4,000 varsity players and I haven’t found a second person to do it this year so he was one of few if not the only one ) -finishes first in scoring at 32.3 and 3rd in assists at 7.7 ( 11 assists off the state lead ) brown leaning towards taking offer from under armor rise team but the aau season is a serious question mark at this point hope everyone is staying safe ! Hopefully we can get some basketball in at the end of summer

Tough to find anything to be happy about ...disappointed for all college and high school athletes ....one decent bit of news for next year ...in addition to playing at new Albany Blackford was invited to the HOF classic and will play what would have likely been the final four of 2A had regional played out only swapping Linton Stockton for barr Reeve.....if anyone has doubts about Luke playing against high caliber teams then check out that tournament ....Blackhawk Christian BR and shanandoah can play against any team from any class and acquit themselves especially next year as SHS and BR return their top 3 scorers each ( barr Reeve essentially replaces Keegan oniel with Curt hopf )....should be a really fun 3 games and a good showcase for Luke hopf and furst

Shame for the fans and shame for the players having to play in a strange low attendance environment but still thankful for the IHSAA not rushing to cancel and leave these kids and seniors with a disaster end to their dreams. My step son will get to go but it’s likely I’ll be watching my second Blackford game in three years from a stream rather than live ...good luck to the bruins and all the regional competitors around in the State stuck in this strange situation !

A lot of them stick around to talk to ted and the coach and have been pretty interactive with fans ( jovial, personable, etc) if nothing he likes better comes along I’d be thrilled with ISU ball state or Akron ....the former two would allow me more opportunity to watch live games and the second I think would be his best ncaa tourney shot ( to have both regular chance to get in and chance to do some damage ) and it’s still close enough to make a game occasionally. thanks for the well wishes with regional the ticket riots caused a lot of community stress yesterday but other than that little controversy it’s been a really fun experience and you can tell the kids are thrilled i would doubt you’ll see much return action from the schools that Already made of their mind to offer they can call him to show him they are still interested but I’ll start doing pictures and posts for any new teams or return visits ( at the risk of escalating behavior which has already been termed nicely as “over zealous “ lol )

Regardless of who it is ....it makes me sick ...id rather he only get offers from Oakland city DIII then get even a call from Purdue

All the schools I mentioned have sent assistant coaches except ball states head coach came to the game at Burris ( it’s on their campus ) Purdue has sent reps that are not on the coaching staff ......I did post on several of these and was mostly ridiculed / given a “ big deal” attitude ....I have also posted on each offer he has received when received and gotten basically the same reaction because they are schools most people consider to be “ beneath iu “ ....I’m not arguing against their argument or lack of interest in the info simply justifying why I haven’t added to my already high volume but I will absolutely provide more on those topics as they continue to occur if you mean legit D1 as in playing someone that will go to a power 6 school for SURE I will say zero and he won’t unless he makes semi state where he will be against Blackhawk and that’s a fair point on your part but also a fair point is he gets those in the summer but the teams he plays (15-20 of them ) are competitive enough or competent enough that they can stop even D1 talent from scoring 30-40 points per game with 2-3 defenders and no one has been able to keep him from doing that ....I would say in season 1-3 players that COULD play D1 and then he plays a handful of your Wesleyan / Marian/ U of I players

Not just unique ...it’s never happened for a player of any age according to every conceivable report I’ve seen ....he has several accomplishments that no one has ever duplicated in the history of our states most beloved prep sport and things like that will create attention

I agree entirely with your perspective on the thread two things I will point out : 1. All the offering schools have had reps at games that I have noticed personally other than Milwaukee ...Toledo has been present more than anyone else but most have been more than once 2. I would agree 100% that I would be the first to quickly change Blackfords 3 or 4 worst opponents ( they could swap for Norwell delta and new castle , be competitive , and instantly have one of the strongest schedules in 2A ......it’s a misconception that their schedule is horrible or that they are chasing the scoring record ...if you take out the 3-5 cupcake games you see the rest of the schedule measure up at their size. They have a tough conference and their schedule last year had 7 sectional champions this year it has the past three state two A champs to go along with a top ten 3A all year and number 1 and number 6 ranked 1A teams. Next year they add new Albany and possibly a tournament at new castle. The scoring record I truly believe he could care less about ...watch him play ...when games are firmly in hand he looks to pass ....he played several games the last couple years against teams he could easily put up 50 or more points and especially towards the end of the session he has scored some of his lowest totals (17 pts last year against Anderson prep and lower totals against Burris this year ). I could see from the outside it looking that way but he really only cares about winning I don’t think he has any desire to beat bailey unless it’s en route to state or semi state appearances where his scoring is necessary.

I agree it’s set up well they couldn’t have asked for a better path ...if they don’t advance it’s on them I have seen Blackhawk and furst a couple times and know how dominant they look ...I know nothing about bowman ....would bowman even have a chance against BC ?
