I would have loved to see the women's with the men's together, but this seems great for a fan experience. Also....how about not having the final game on Monday at 9pm on a channel nobody thinks exists anymore? You think more people will make a point to watch if the championship game was on.............Sunday at 6pm on CBS?

I believe Swanigan moved here later in life with the help of Barnes....i guess you can say he was from here? They were writing articles about Thomas when he was in middle school. You are right he had success, but i don't think anyone would say he lived up to the hype. I honestly love having Ft Wayne bball kids do well, even if they don't go to IU, but they never live up to the hype coming out of high school. That is why losing Furst was never upsetting to me.

Living in the Fort, this is pretty spot on. I honestly cannot remember a kid from here becoming a high level college player. There have been a decent amount of high level recruits, but they do not really materialize for some reason. To be fair, no one gives a sh!t about southern indiana high school players either; Romeo was just a recruiting win. It all comes to winning for football. If IU wins, more recruits will turn their heads. IU just needs to win

You nailed it. I was looking thru the box scores last week and noticed the same thing. The winning is not that X is back so much it is that Leal/Cupps/X are sharing minutes without Gunn. No offense to Gunn, not trying to crap on him, but the stats are speaking for themselves. That is what drives me nuts about this year. They could have easily been in the tourney, if Coach played the ball-players and not the athletes. -
If Ohio State pulls that off and we have Woodson on the sidelines next year. Not a joke, i am done with IU bball.

It is pretty rare a big comes along that impacts the game as much as he does.......and nobody in the NBA wants him. How many 6'7" athletes can the league draft.

(2023) - SG Jamie Kaiser Jr. to Maryland

I cannot be the only one that has no idea what that means. Can someone help an old man out? IU told Kaiser that he would sit the bench for awhile? -
IUFB Offseason/Transfer Portal News

The OL was embarrassingly bad last year, but there are some plays the OC can call to compensate. When the Manning/Colts had subpar OLs they did quick passes, not run up the middle on 90% of first downs or have long drawn out pass plays. That is why the O was so bad last year....Sheridan was in over his head and Hiller is getting way too long of leash. -
I get it, i do. I was rooting for him, as i liked his temperament, but if he is in over his head then changes need to happen. IU needs consistency, we haven't had that in decades. I personally think that Archie had a bigger mess to clean up after crean then people acknowledge (APR, roster issues, talent issues), but if he isn't the guy IU needs to go big or stfu.

I haven't been on this board in a while, but i am confused by the hate for Archie now? Did something happen, or is just extreme frustration? it reads like something happened..............if there is a change and it is Alford, i am done

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
el drado replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I will assume you didn't watch them then....here is what i saw from his teams. 1) Players were moving the ball on offense, no stagnation 2) on defense, players were engaged, and had their hands up It was the type of basketball WE ALL OUR WANTING. The difference between you and me is that i think Archie has shown what we want when he was at Dayton (elements have been shown at IU too) and can do it at IU. You think not -

Honestly, did you watch his Dayton teams? I salivated over that type of ball being played. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
el drado replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wait, wait, wait.....so we want to get commitments from 4* and 5* guys who have the foresight that sitting on the bench for a year is in their best interest and the best interest of a program that is bigger than one individual? This is my problem with this fanbase, we want it all, we want an older mature team full of 5* talents who are from Indiana and commit on Archie's command. Those days are unrealistic. EDIT** e.g. Damezi, he needs a year or two more....i see a lot of people questioning whether he can play though -

If we have 10 guys getting rotation and are engaged in each game that is a good thing. So some of you want 2 guys at the end of the bench not engaged and thinking about which schools to transfer to the following year? If a team is playing 11-12 guys a night that tells you 3-4 of them aren't producing. -

How are we on option G? Guys, you really need to simmer down. TJD is a burger boy that will stay multiple years, Franklin fits Archie's mold perfectly who i am very excited about, Brunk checks off a lot of boxes....sorry guys the intel i got on Brooks was different, he liked IU but his focus is on the NBA and who can get him there the fastest. Can you blame a NC kid for choosing UNC? Watford was never coming here. My biggest problem with our message boards (other boards included) is that we convince ourselves that just b/c there are a couple tie ins we lead for every kid. As far as 2020 kids, let's see how it plays out before stepping off the ledge. **EDIT** All our 2019 kids are from where? Archie cannot win with this fanbase -

it is painfully obvious, that there is no leadership from the players. i think Archie was spoiled by that at dayton. The only person i see as a team first player is RP....no offense to Morgan or Langford, but they cannot command the team. Archie is a no bs guy, and that's what is expected. The family atmosphere is a facade unless the players are all in..... -
IUBB @ Arkansas - 11/18 @ 3:30 ET
el drado replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Those weak passes by our freshmen stood out the most, and cost us the most. We didn't look bad outside of those. If we eliminated the moronic TO's and made the bunnies, we would have been ahead most of the night, instead we were playing catch up. -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
el drado replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I feel a little bad for kids in this position, being torn by adults. If his Mom wants to see him at IU, then who gives a sh!t about the stepdad...why would you push the kid farther from his Mom for school. Especially it seems like TJD likes IU. In the end it seems like it makes too much sense, and he will go to IU, but crazier things have happened. -

Every kid is different. Romeo was a huge duke fan right? Fandom gets pushed aside once the decision becomes more businesslike. -

Where else would he go? His mom is sick. I would find it strange if he went somewhere else. Good luck to him too -

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

My wife works with one of his family members. It doesn't sound like Brooks is in any hurry to decide, and she did not get any feedback as to who is leading. -
Active, knew where to be, only saw him breaking zone - didn't see outside shooting, free throw form looked solid. good role player
