$20 tickets might make it worth it to go. Maybe. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

They do care. They either find us a joke or want to see it get better. It is all based off football and basketball. I don’t know about it with whole fan bases. I’d say it probably differs from person to person. Purdue fans probably see us as a joke at this point in both sports. With the UK fans I’ve interacted with it’s been both. No one really cares about our football program. That is true. But that’s because it is trash. So why would they care about it? But basketball is considered a joke because “this is Indiana” and we have sucked. Others in some fan bases would like to see us be great again because it’s good for college basketball. The first time they did the quarters thing it was awesome. They kept the bonus at 7 fouls and it reset at the 10 minute mark. So there were hardly ANY bonus ft’s in games. The only person mad was Jim Boeheim. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

That’s awesome. Are facilities are catching up. Give him credit for it and boot his @$$ out the door because the two important teams still aren’t winning. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

His bosses don’t care a bit. You can tell by the fact they don’t care about sports period. Basketball and football just bring in some money. If McRobbie could get rid of sports, he would. His job is to make money, succeed at the two sports that make money and put butts in seats at the two sports that make money. The rest is fluff if good. If men’s basketball and football were great and both top 25 programs yearly, no one would care a bit about the rest of the sports. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

We don’t care about baseball. It’s just there if we are good. We don’t care about women’s basketball because well... not many people really do. Maybe if they were actually good yearly. Yea we brought in a “great” 2019 football recruiting class but it wasn’t even in the top 10 of the Big Ten. So what’s that get you when you have terrible coaching? No one cares about swimming. Just another sport that is there. There is a reason tickets to so many sports outside of basketball and football are $5. Although football should be $5 too because they are garbage. Hires are as great often. Look at Shaka at Texas and what has he done there? Cuonzo Martin anywhere he goes and what has he done ever? Baseball, soccer, swimming, women’s basketball don’t mean jack squat. They make no money. The money makers and the only two important sports are men’s basketball and football. Those should be priorities 1-100 and everything follows. Fred Glass does not understand that. He will never understand that. And Indiana will continue being the joke and fossil it is today and it is going to end up biting them in the @$$ as young people grow up to not be fans of IU. Bennett would also have us all wanting more and back into Final Fours and title games. Something he has yet to proven to do. All he has proven is that his teams can win regular season games. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Indiana 0. How about Final Fours and Elite 8’s? Sweet sixteens since this fan base loves those? Tourney appearances in general? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Oh god how could I forget the highlight of the last decade. Sorry UK has missed the Elite 3 times. While we’ve made the Sweet 16 3 times in the same time Cal has been at UK. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

What? Kentucky under Cal has went to the NIT once and a S16. Those are the only two seasons where they haven’t made at least the Elite 8. Kansas just lost the Big 12 for the first time in 15 years. Those schools are doing great. We have been absolutely terrible as we are about to miss the tourney yet again. We’ve made the tourney 4 times the last 10 seasons. So some concerns I’m having...
Joe DeLow replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
TJD isn’t going to give us the same as Morgan did his freshman year most likely. Maybe if it were a freshman Cody Zeller coming. Franklin isn’t going to be able to come in and do what Romeo did. He might average half of what Romeo did. Hunter is a complete unknown if he’s ever going to play again. This team is more realistically sitting at about 15-17 wins for the 3 year straight. Zion has the motor and passion that you want in elite players. Think about a Romeo with that kind of fire? Or Zeller when he was here? He’s there to do his thing and help the team win and get everyone fired up. And he has more than succeeded this year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

He’s a decent decision maker. Maybe average playmaker. Can hit some shots. He is at his ceiling. He didn’t show anything that would say otherwise. We saw what Phin could be when healthy, which is a PG who can control a game. We even saw what Smith could be when locked in. But Al was just Al. Kind of like how Robert Johnson was. He really didn’t get much better as a player from freshman to senior year. He was steady and good enough. That’s Al. He’s not going to put you over the top, but he’s a good piece to have. We will have a good PG and should have done bodies down low. The problem is the 3 and 2 spots. Durham has peaked. He is who he is at this point. We have no 3 if Hunter can’t play and Smith transfers. We still have no one to shoot the ball. We still have no one on the wing who can take their guy and consistently go get a bucket next year. We could be good defensively but our offense is going to struggle yet again. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The sunshine and unicorns of this board thought Grant Gelon would contribute his freshman year. The same thing is constantly said over and over again every year about every recruit. If you think not getting dog Keion is fine because we got Franklin, you’re in denial of what this team needs and how much better Keion would have made us. Difference between 20 wins and 15. NIT at best for yet another season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
