    Bracketology and Team Resumes

Oh my gosh. We just played our second worst game of the season and I could honestly still see us winning a couple games. That’s a dream scenario Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

To be blunt, I think who we hire as the new AD is severely more important than firing/retaining Archie. We need someone who allows us to play in the grey area. There’s no reason we should be having this much difficulty recruiting out of state players other than we don’t offer the same benefits as the vast majority of other teams. I consider dj carton and maybe Dawson Garcia to be exceptions, but I truly believe if we bent the rules a little bit we could’ve had Kira Lewis / Dortz / Quinones / Brooks / Tre Mann etc. This new AD can also advocate for improved reffing in conference play. I totally understand why players would rather prefer to play in the Big 12 or PAC 12. At the end of the day, we are a storied program that can provide a bigger “spotlight” for players to build their brand than 97% of college programs. We should not be lacking talent. But when I watch games, I see players afraid to shoot 3’s. I see players who can’t make strong passes. I see a player who can’t go up strong around the rim despite being a senior. Now, some of this is on coaching. But coaching is very hard to do when your talent is lacking to programs like Illinois and Purdue. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2021) C Logan Duncomb to IU, to Winthrop

I was at this game. Worth nothing duncomb played against Gabe Cupps, who’s only a freshman, but very highly touted since he’s a guard on Bronny James’ AAU team. Great environment. Duncomb is talented and sees the floor well. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yep. And I’m not saying fans aren’t allowed to discuss it. It’s certainly warranted. But at the end of the day, we should still root for the coach and team. We’ve got a long way to go. And if we manage to get to the tournament, two or three wins could make all of this discussion pointless Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    IUBB @ Maryland - 1/4/20 @ Noon

Great points. Here are my ideas: I’d love to put students behind both baskets to make an even crazier atmosphere. Probably difficult to do considering loss of money, but still would be cool Warm up with mostly rap music. Please. Bands are awesome, and tradition is cool, but most young people (on the team and in the crowd) get more amped to hip hop than bands for sporting events Renovate the balconies. It’s not good seating, and probably more worth it to watch it on tv. Make them lounges/boxes, put windows on the back wall, concessions up there, something. It’s sucks when the balconies are empty, but I get it. Timeouts are generally boring. Other programs do a much better job at keeping fans engaged during breaks in action. Ex: Showing Cody Zeller and Oladipo get the crowd pumped, but the Bucetto’s biking advertisement is pointless. Simple trivia questions would be great. Bringing students on to do half court shots would be fun. It’s not that difficult. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

All I know is having this discussion after every game is tiresome. Yes, we’ve massively underachieved. Yes, player development and quality coaching are often lacking. But Archie is gonna be here for the rest of this year and most likely all of 2021. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Of course there are exceptions, but I’m not a fan of neutral court matchups. College basketball is so great because of the passionate fans. So I’d love to see the tournament committee begin to place much more emphasis on big road victories, and hopefully it’d incentivize teams to schedule more road gameS Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

IU vs Notre Dame 12/21 Noon ESPN

Should’ve never been this close, but good plays drawn up by Archie in the past minutes. Completely deserves the criticism, but also credit where credit it due. Oh, yeah, Armaan baby Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  15. My primary concern is when nights where Green is off and the other team has a good big that can slow down TJD, where will our offense come from? I get the criticism of Archies offense, so I’m curious what people think we should do? Personally, I need to see way more back cuts. I can’t stand Al / Rob / Armaan and especially Damezi handing the ball off to other guards on the wing and nearly every time the ball is almost intercepted Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. He’s been a terrific leader this year. His on court demeanor really did a 180. He’s a sure fire captain next year imo Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Hate to say it, but I just kinda feel like we’ll go 2-1 in these next 3. Hopefully I’m wrong, but glad none of them are away Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. I honestly believe both coaches are decent coaches, but tonight both teams weren’t well coached. At the end of the day, I’ll take being 9-1 and going home to play Nebraska. Come March, this is a resume boosting win. UConn is a tough out. Go Hoosiers! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  23. Some of y’all are so negative. We aren’t playing remotely well, but it’s a close game essentially on the road. This team was never gonna come into MSG and blow out UCONN. Hopefully we can keep it to 4-6 and make some halftime adjustments. If we hit 1-2 of our 3’s and they miss a few of their tough shots, it’s an even game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    IUBB vs SDSU 11/30 @ 4 pm BTN+

Nervous for Tuesday, but at the end of the day, we're exactly where we are supposed to be at this point in the season. No bad losses may seem easy, but as we've seen throughout college basketball this season (Duke, Kentucky, etc.), every team in the nation can lose each night. I'm happy to be undefeated, and excited to "start" our season
