"I really, really try not to post on here because I'd rather just read, read, read. However, some of the things that have been said the past few weeks are so completely out of touch with reality that I can't stand to just sit around and not speak up. Here's a few things about the Romeo Langford recruitment that have been said publicly, privately and sort of in the middle. - He had a wonderful visit to IU. After the visit, a text message was circulating amongst a family member of the Langford's and a notable IU family suggesting that Indiana would be his likely landing spot. - "Why wasn't Archie at the Bloomington South game watching Langford?" Indiana and its staff is down to (I believe) only three more chances to see Langford play live. As many know, NCAA rules put a restriction on how many times you can see a recruit. Do you think the staff wanted to watch him play Bloomington South who has no one to cover him? Or to spend the late afternoon/ evening watching a bevy of IU recruits slugging it out at the Forum Tipoff Classic on December 9th (where New Albany plays Keion Brooks, Jr.'s team)? Furthermore, the IU staff has known for some time that this recruitment is going to drag into the early parts of 2018. So why would they use all of their days to see him in 2017? I think this is an easy point for people to follow. - Garland: Repeatedly, Tim Langford has mentioned "business" and "business decision" privately with where Romeo Langford will play basketball. For Romeo's brand to be at its absolute peak going into the 2019 NBA Draft he will need people to be talking about him and promoting his strengths and potential as an NBA lottery pick. Being in an offense with a shoot-first PG like Darius Garland while not playing on national TV won't help his brand. Again, I've been told many times over that Garland going to Vanderbilt is a "very, very good thing" for IU and their hopes of landing Romeo Langford. - For those who continue to be concerned about the 247 Crystal Ball and Vanderbilt. Consider: 1.) Vanderbilt loses its three best players in Matthew Fisher-Davis, Jeff Roberson and Riley LaChance to graduation. To this Vandy outsider, this wouldn't seem like a good thing for a team and its depth to lose the three guys who lead their team in points and minutes. 2.) "Langford can play with his buddy at Vanderbilt." Does he not have other friends that are going to play Division-1 basketball? 3.) Bryce Drew has yet to win an NCAA Tournament game. 4.) Compare the number of national TV appearances Indiana has vs. what Vanderbilt offers. 5.) Have a comprehensive evaluation of the Indiana staff vs. the Vanderbilt staff. 6.) Remind yourself Jerry Meyer lives in Nashville and also go back to some of Jeff Rabjohns' posts on here from some saying they only picked Vanderbilt for now but will change their picks later. The tone of this may suggest some sort of anger. It is not. I can assure you. I realize this is a message board and you get what you pay for and like many modern-internet institutions you are filled with trolls and those who just want to stir the pot. I just want to use this post to be as forthright and upfront about a few things from how I understand them at current writing. I can categorically tell you, with 100% fact, that the Indiana staff feels good about this recruitment. And a lot of things they have been told and see make them feel this way. Things can change in recruiting and a lot of times they do. But, those who are writing off Langford to Vanderbilt because you have access to Twitter and Jerry Meyer's Crystal Ball--- don't get lost." Really good stuff this guy is more plugged in to this recruitment then anyone I know and is a legit source and he continues to say what he has from day one.... Indiana still leads.

They were calling DG to Vandy the whole time tho since they started. They said they have sources through AAU, high school coaches and are actually somewhat in contact with some families. I thought I would share for a number of reasons, number 1 I saw it and it interested me whether there is any truth or not. Number 2 there has just been too much negativity around lately. I can tell you its not an overworked issue. Someone I know has been to practice under both Crean and Miller so far. He said Crean lead a 3 hour practice in between games and this was immediately after a lifting session with Anderson. Under Miller he said they had a solid lift under Marshell and went for like an 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Plus I am a Freshman at IU now and my strength coach in high school is one of the best in the country (has turned down offers from Indiana football, Florida football, and IMG and more) but he said Anderson has no clue what hes doing and is just a hype man in a talk we had last year. He said Anderson is the reason all the players were hurt in the offseason so they missed out on a lot of time and the reason a lot of players kept getting hurt during the season. When I asked him about Clif Marshell he had nothing but praise and said hes one of the best in the business. The older guys may not love playing for Miller in terms of the x's and o's being a complete flip, but they definitely are worked not quite as hard but much more productively.

Even Dan Dakich today who is more plugged in then people gave him credit for said he feels Romeo is still headed to Indiana despite Garland.

I'm honestly done reading stuff on here. I can't take such negative attitudes. You guys ruin it for everyone. Yogi is right, the team will be in a lot better shape next year then people think. And suddenly everyone is ready to throw in the towel on Romeo???? Pathetic. I have heard from so many plugged in people today with sources that have literally said "Don't worry about Langford unless something drastically changes, while he has said he would love to play with DG, it will have ZERO impact in his decision."

Appreciate this and all the great posts and insights you gave through this. Keep more of these coming in the Romeo recruitment! As for the rest of you acting like the earth is falling, take that crap somewhere else. Everything ive heard from people actually plugged in, is people still saying Indiana leads for Romeo even with Darius going to Vandy. They also have said they don't see that changing so shut up and chill out. The crying and negative posting is literally painful to watch.

Rabjohns just put into Peegs a little bit ago that Jerry feels comfortable not changing his Indiana pick and unless he hears different he wont as the Indiana chatter picked up a little bit again.

Yes Brentwood did play yesterday, but it was scrimmage stuff. Not sure if they had actual refs there or if they would call a technical in a scrimmage

I agree with this 100%. I wanted Donovan so badly but I’m not sure we’d be in the position that we are as a program right now tending upward and in this spot with the recruits with Billy. I think what everyone is lost in is that this kid had said all along he wanted to make a decision before the 14th. Wednesday would've been after his first game so my guess is they were able to find a time now to squeeze it in before his first game. Regardless I am still on team IU here I believe deep down still that is where he is going.
