Me one moment: Damn. Fred Glass is going to hire Steve Alford his press conference was basically saying the only criteria for an IU coach is that his first name is Steve and his last name is Alford.
Me the next moment: Wait Fred Glass did get rid of Kevin Wilson but his character even though he had been IU's best performing head football coach in decades. So why should he care about anything else he sees in the head basketball coach if he is concerned about the well being of the student athletes.
This just makes me think hiring Alford is instant grounds for firing of Fred Glass. The issues with the football program and then bringing on Alford's unapologetic defense of a rapist.
My list of any coach that's a possibility:
1. Billy Donovan
2. Brad Stevens
3. Gregg Marshall
4. Chris Collins
5. Mike White
6. Randy Wittman/Dane Fife
1000. Tom Crean
10000. Dan Dakich
100000. Pat Knight
1000000. Bryce Alford
10000000. Steve Alford
Mostly just want to say that my vote would be for Greg Marshall outside of BD and BS. He doesn't make early exits in the tournament. (Aside from losing to Kentucky that one year as a 1 seed but that was sort of a shitty situation.) He does this with not the highest talent and recruiting resources. Guy can flat out coach and scheme his way to a victory. I feel like it would be similar to Bo Ryan sort of thing but he'd get even better talent. Bo never had the best talent yet was at the top of the Big Ten. Even when not having the best talent in the GM would still make Assembly Hall an impossible place to come in and get a win and would be able to purely outsmart the opposing coach. So basically:
1. Doesn't get upset frequently and doesn't make 1st round exits.
2. Has made it deep in the tournament
3. Doesn't miss the NCAA tournament
4. Impressive player development
