(2022) - PF Kyle Filipowski to Duke
ramadden13 replied to ap2345's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Wouldn’t it be nice to not immediately feel at a disadvantage when a Duke or UK gets involved with a prospect we are on, especially an out-of-state prospect. -
Big jump for Tamar Bates in the final 247 Sports 2021 rankings. He’s the highest ranked 4-star prospect at number 26. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Coach Woodson's Media Appearances
ramadden13 replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Coach looks like he’s in great shape here! Either his suits were not doing him good or Clif has been working with him too. -
Kentucky has 0 point guards on its current roster. It’s a glaring hole right now, especially after the decommitment of Nolan Hickman. They are desperate for a PG and haven’t landed one yet.

I think we’re going to look back in a couple years and realize that the one time transfer rule has made the best programs* even better (and the bag men of college bbal coughwillwadebrucepearlcough). The programs that recruit elite talent often have to deal with unexpected departures to the pros and being able to address it with an impact player in the spring will just make the rich richer and the Minnesota’s poorer. *inexplicably does not include Coach Cal and UK, who have struck out so much so far but god am I laughing hard

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
ramadden13 replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I love how they are building out the staff like a modern NBA front office/coaching staff. College sports is a business and all of IU’s moves lately have been very forward thinking. Dolson and team are killing it IMO. -
IUMS-Tournament Talk

I love the guy from SFBK who ran straight into Bezerra to dive when Youssoufi was already on the ground from the amazing (and clean) tackle by Palazzolo and no one noticed him. Such a pointless dive it made me laugh. -

What an ugly game for the most part. Gonna have to clean a lot up for Marquette. But having the best keeper in the country is a pretty nice get-out-of-jail-free card. Celentano is a beast! And we sure can shoot PKs (Bezerra is so good). Other than team things I hope that the NCAA gets better camera angles and play-by-play for Marquette. Painful to watch broadcast. I think the PBP guy tried 7 variations of Celentano, none of them right. Maybe he was too busy watching Youssoufi‘s walking on the bench to look up a phonetic spelling. -
Truly some banner days on Rupp these days between this and the Nolan Hickman decommit.

Sad how injuries may have derailed him. He was so promising coming out of HS.

Yeah that’s what I meant. I was trying to be circumspect but I guess I went too far lol.

Would feel a bit icky if someone was “persuaded” to leave but I’m drooling over the skills and potential here.

Game Theory Podcast: IU the 7th Best Coaching Job in College Bball
ramadden13 posted a topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sam Vecenie, writer for The Athletic, and Matt Pennie, former player at UMass, ranked the 25 best college basketball jobs on Sam’s Game Theory Podcast. They took budget, track record of success, local recruiting area, facilities, fanbase, and job security all into account. They ranked IU 7th, saying that everything was elite besides the recent track record of success. They also went off on a tangent about how they think Tamar Bates is awesome. The podcast was done in two parts: 13-25 and 1-12. The top 12 were broken down into 3 informal tiers (although they said these are all elite jobs): Tier 1 1. UK 2. North Carolina 3. Kansas 4. Duke Tier 2 5. Texas 6. Louisville 7. Indiana Tier 3 8. Ohio St 9. UCLA 10. Arizona 11. Michigan St. 12. Michigan I think the ranking is fair for how we are now, although I think if we get it turned around we will prove we are a better job than Louisville especially. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/game-theory-podcast/id1054081827#episodeGuid=3265b3d6-3e30-11eb-a8f3-67d1cd65403d Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Game Theory Podcast: IU the 7th Best Coaching Job in College Bball

I think a lot of people are ignoring the very real question of what post-Coach K Duke looks like. It really depends on who they hire. No program is completely bulletproof and sometimes it’s really hard to determine the right fit for the program. -

Totally agree. And I will never let go of my ire for Kelvin Sampson and the NCAA for knocking us down when we were still in that top group. UNC and UK get away with the down eras because they quickly recovered from those eras. If Sampson could have controlled his texting, I think we would have too. -
Significantly better tweeting from everyone involved in the program since the coaching change IMO. Everyone seems unleashed and willing to post more interesting content. Exhibit A: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Beard to Texas really was a match made in Heaven. If everything works out there, UT could really be set to rise to the top echelon of college basketball, especially if some current elite programs fumble coaching changes.

I feel like some things are starting to be said about players that we’d be embarrassed if those players saw. Can we keep it respectful of everyone?
-
I guess it’s possible they may feel that Trey’s shot is unfixable (don’t agree), but you need developmental players in your system who will become contributors and starters in later years or you’re stuck in the position of trying to replace your whole roster every couple years. Are there even enough minutes that (barring some really terrible injury luck) we would need Trey to contribute. We seem very deep already. Brooks is good if we do have to lose Trey though.

A bunch of our recent offers seem to be players that Rosemond has a connection to. The recruiting section has all the offers.
