I'm with you. I use Lunardi since he is the easiest to access. He has Saint Mary's, Furman, and Murray State ahead of IU. One would think the only way those three schools get in is IF they win their conference tournament. If not, they are NIT bound. Also, if IU finished 8-12 that probably puts them as a 9/10 seed playing OSU or Minnesota Thursday. Both of those teams are on the bubble. If IU beats one of them you would think they would flip flop spots and IU is among the first four in playing in Dayton. Still would feel more comfortable if they make it to Saturday in the BTT (Meaning a win over Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State).

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
HoosierFan1994 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don't look into recruits on social media that much. However, I haven't seen any UK and Michigan State recruits/current players reach out to Keion like TJD Armaan Romeo etc are doing. -
Keion Brooks Jr - Decision Date (3/15)

I agree, but I think he could be on a title contender right away at Michigan State and maybe his sophomore year at IU. -

So it sounds like it's down to IU, UK, and Michigan State. UCLA (no coach), UNC (too far from home), and Purdue are out. He has an interesting decision. I think regardless he is a two year player. It sounds like he wants the school with the best path to the NBA. Indiana- Starter from Day 1 and probably the go to guy (IU is probably the only school where he would be the #1 option). Team is probably a borderline top 25 team next year with him. However, his sophomore year they could be something really special. Good buddies with TJD and Armaan. Could probably be a lottery pick/1st rounder after two years. Kentucky- Starter from Day 1 but probably the #3 or #4 best player. And it most likely stays that way. Cal will bring in more players over him. Ask Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, Isaiah Briscoe, Harrison Twins, etc. PJ Washington and Tyler Ulis are probably the only UK players under Cal who helped themselves by staying another year. I don't think Cal is very good at developing players like Keion-players who really need to stick around two more years. UK will always be a top ten team under Cal. 2nd Round pick after two years. I just think Cal recruits more "talented" players over Keion and that could hurt his stock and development. Michigan State- Starter from Day 1 but the #3 or #4 option his first year and then probably the #1 option his sophomore year. Michigan State will be National Title good next year (assuming the three juniors come back plus some depth) and decent his sophomore year. Could probably be a lottery pick/1st rounder after two years. I saw someone say this on either this board or another board, but I think UK is the #3 option. In all honesty, I think Michigan State might be the best fit for him. Potentially win a title your freshman year and be the best player returning your sophomore year with Watts, Hall, Henry, etc. Izzo has good history with In-state and LaLu kids (Randolph, Dawson, Harris, Jackson Jr). IU is a good choice. He knows TJD and Armaan well. Rob and Al will only get better. Jerome Hunter could be a key piece as well. They will be a young team his freshman year but by the time he is a sophomore they could be final four/national title good. We shall see. Also, Romeo is going to be a lottery pick and has said good things to Keion. My Pick: I think IU gets him. Michigan State 2nd and UK 3rd. I think TJD and Armaan are going to help. If he didn't have a connection with those two, mainly TJD, I don't think IU gets him. Play at home for two years, be a lottery pick, play with good friends, and potentially have a good team in year 2. -

Wow..could be three starters out for Michigan State. If healthy they are a final four team. Losing Langford and Ward hurt them. -
Outside of the NFL Season the best time of the year in Sports. IHSAA State Tournament, conference tournaments, and the NCAA Tournament! NFL Free Agency too!

Really dislike the fact this game is an early tip-off. As crazy as it is, if IU wins this game they enter the bubble conversation. It is really weak this year and if they win out in the regular season and win a game or two in Chicago, I think they're in. -
(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.

He is having an awesome season. His team, Reitz, plays mainly Freshmen and Sophomores. Going to watch him play tomorrow in the Sectional Semi's. Rumor around Evansville is that he is going to a prep school after this season. I can't blame him, just wish he would stick around for one more season due to the weak junior class. He would probably be the best player in the state next year. -
Tennessee reminds me of Purdue last year. Don't know if anyone feels that way. A good team but I think they are overrated. They are Sweet 16/Elite 8 good but I don't see them in the Final Four. That's how I felt about Purdue last year when they spent time in the top 5.

I think you are spot on. I think one of Moore or Forrester sticks around. I'll guess Moore. Not good that Forrester's dad is on twitter. -

Would be huge for Archie to land Trendon and Keion. He is going to have to upgrade this roster significantly this offseason or no way do I see him back for year four. -

Hypothetical Lineup Rob, Al, Trendon, Keion, and TJD. Jerome, Armaan, Race, De'Ron off the bench. I really really like that team. Only Two crean recruits. Only one senior and no OADs. -

It is the main reason we can't give up on Archie. He is upgrading the talent on this roster with his kind of guys. -

It has been said before but the more time that passes the better for IU. It's not a bad thing if this goes until April. He has a tough decision. -
We need this bad!!!! It's all about culture and mental toughness. Nothing against Damezi or Jake, but if they leave after ONE season you have to wonder if they were the right fit to begin with. Both guys were not expected to play a whole lot. They got more PT than anyone thought. I'm not into recruiting rankings but both were low 4 star recruits. That usually means they wont play much as freshman, have a limited role as a sophomore, and hope they can be a key player by the time they are a junior or a senior. Romeo, Rob, and Jerome here the stars of this class. I always thought Damezi and Jake would be key players off the bench. All the great teams have depth. IU lost three players in the last 5 years that would have provided that (Etherington, Abell, and Stan Robinson-all left after two-three years).
-
Yes. Pork Chop talked about this at Purdue. Guys accepting their roles. Not everybody can be a starter and not everybody can be an NBA player.

An elite 8, sweet 16, 3 conference titles and 2 conference tournament titles. Better than Crean!
-
I agree. They have a ton of experience. This is his best offensive team too.

Went to Virginia -Louisville game today. A few takeaways: 1) KFC Yum Center is an awesome place for a game! I'm considering going to the Sweet 16 games in March. Sat up high and still had a good view of the court. 2) Louisville fans whine at everything. Same with Mack. However, I think he is a good fit and he will have Louisville back in the Final 4 sooner rather than later. Nwora is a stud that will be back with a stud freshmen class. I think he took in a couple grad transfers that made them better. I hope Archie can do that next year. 3) Virginia is a final four team. I think this is Bennett's best team. Hunter is a star. He took over in the second half, Jerome is a very good point guard who I think will play at the next level. Kyle Guy is a kid I wish Indiana would have gotten. He is a good rebounder for a small guard. Virginia also has 3 bigs they rotate and all had an impact today. They always play good defense but they move the ball really well. I usually pick Virginia to get upset early due to their offensive woes but I think this may be there year they get to a final four and win the whole thing. 4) Got a good kick out of the program. They had a page or two dedicated to the 2012 and 2013 teams and it said "later vacated". The banner is gone too!

I hope Jake stays another year. I don't like when freshmen or sophomores transfer due to lack of playing time. It is just so early in their career. Look at Etherington, Abell, Stanford Robinson, etc for IU. I hope this isn't a case where they think Jake is better than what he is. I think he will be a solid role player as a junior/senior.
