(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
HoosierFan1994 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
well said. Imagine if he was around when Bluiett and Guy were in high school. -
LSU is my final four dark horse. They better enjoy it though. I think the NCAA is about to hit them and Willy Wade hard.
-
True. Stinks too because I think Purdue and Maryland are other candidates to get upset as well.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Wish Keion the best if that's the case. No need to hate or bash the kid. I think his goal is to be a one and done. If that's the case, IU may not be the best fit for him. Archie needs guys who are going to stay and develop. One recruit is not going to save a program (look at Romeo folks). Just hope he can pull in more talent for next year or IU/Archie will be in trouble. He cannot afford to miss the tournament again in my opinion. Looks like your starters are Rob, Al, Jerome (knock on wood) and TJD. Davis (not sure he can play 20-25 plus minutes a game), Thompson, and Franklin provide good depth. Maybe Justin comes back after his recent performances. Need a few guards who can shoot it. Quinones? Beverly? Grad transfer? Think IU is an 8-10 seed next year. Will struggle offensively but will play hard. However, should return the core of that team and could be dangerous in 2020-2021. -
Knock on wood, but I'd love for IU to play them again. I do agree I don't think we will see a lot of upsets this year. I think the final four will be made up of mainly 1 or 2 seeds.

I know IU beat them but Marquette is so overrated. They are a candidate to lose to a 12 seed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Thanks for doing this. Obviously have to root for Marquette-helps IU out for quality wins and a Seton Hall loss could put them out. Big East is weak outside of Nova and Marquette. Must wins for Creighton and Georgetown or they probably have to win the Big East (still think that is what it is going to take for them). I think Florida is in. Two tough road games this week at LSU and UK. Lots of teams could play spoilers tonight.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

We obviously have 9 more days but I can't remember a recruit where nobody really knows anything. I think by April we knew Romeo was an IU lean. Maybe James Blackmon Jr? -
Good! Now we need the Belichick AFC East streak to be over with.

Corruption in College Basketball

Maybe this is old news but I saw Pat Forde tell a Louisville sports radio show that the NCAA is going to hammer Kansas Louisville and LSU. Also said he is surprised Mack took that job and the fact he got recruits. I’ll believe it when I see it but he’s been credible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Can the Hoosiers go dancing?
HoosierFan1994 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Go Butler, Purdue, and Auburn! Xavier loss probably puts them out as an at-large. Minnesota loss drops them a bit. If they win, they are probably in. An Alabama loss and they are probably a last four team in. -
I'm with you. I use Lunardi since he is the easiest to access. He has Saint Mary's, Furman, and Murray State ahead of IU. One would think the only way those three schools get in is IF they win their conference tournament. If not, they are NIT bound. Also, if IU finished 8-12 that probably puts them as a 9/10 seed playing OSU or Minnesota Thursday. Both of those teams are on the bubble. If IU beats one of them you would think they would flip flop spots and IU is among the first four in playing in Dayton. Still would feel more comfortable if they make it to Saturday in the BTT (Meaning a win over Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State).

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
HoosierFan1994 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don't look into recruits on social media that much. However, I haven't seen any UK and Michigan State recruits/current players reach out to Keion like TJD Armaan Romeo etc are doing. -
Keion Brooks Jr - Decision Date (3/15)
HoosierFan1994 replied to monskisprodigy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree, but I think he could be on a title contender right away at Michigan State and maybe his sophomore year at IU. -

So it sounds like it's down to IU, UK, and Michigan State. UCLA (no coach), UNC (too far from home), and Purdue are out. He has an interesting decision. I think regardless he is a two year player. It sounds like he wants the school with the best path to the NBA. Indiana- Starter from Day 1 and probably the go to guy (IU is probably the only school where he would be the #1 option). Team is probably a borderline top 25 team next year with him. However, his sophomore year they could be something really special. Good buddies with TJD and Armaan. Could probably be a lottery pick/1st rounder after two years. Kentucky- Starter from Day 1 but probably the #3 or #4 best player. And it most likely stays that way. Cal will bring in more players over him. Ask Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, Isaiah Briscoe, Harrison Twins, etc. PJ Washington and Tyler Ulis are probably the only UK players under Cal who helped themselves by staying another year. I don't think Cal is very good at developing players like Keion-players who really need to stick around two more years. UK will always be a top ten team under Cal. 2nd Round pick after two years. I just think Cal recruits more "talented" players over Keion and that could hurt his stock and development. Michigan State- Starter from Day 1 but the #3 or #4 option his first year and then probably the #1 option his sophomore year. Michigan State will be National Title good next year (assuming the three juniors come back plus some depth) and decent his sophomore year. Could probably be a lottery pick/1st rounder after two years. I saw someone say this on either this board or another board, but I think UK is the #3 option. In all honesty, I think Michigan State might be the best fit for him. Potentially win a title your freshman year and be the best player returning your sophomore year with Watts, Hall, Henry, etc. Izzo has good history with In-state and LaLu kids (Randolph, Dawson, Harris, Jackson Jr). IU is a good choice. He knows TJD and Armaan well. Rob and Al will only get better. Jerome Hunter could be a key piece as well. They will be a young team his freshman year but by the time he is a sophomore they could be final four/national title good. We shall see. Also, Romeo is going to be a lottery pick and has said good things to Keion. My Pick: I think IU gets him. Michigan State 2nd and UK 3rd. I think TJD and Armaan are going to help. If he didn't have a connection with those two, mainly TJD, I don't think IU gets him. Play at home for two years, be a lottery pick, play with good friends, and potentially have a good team in year 2. -

Wow..could be three starters out for Michigan State. If healthy they are a final four team. Losing Langford and Ward hurt them. -
Outside of the NFL Season the best time of the year in Sports. IHSAA State Tournament, conference tournaments, and the NCAA Tournament! NFL Free Agency too!

Really dislike the fact this game is an early tip-off. As crazy as it is, if IU wins this game they enter the bubble conversation. It is really weak this year and if they win out in the regular season and win a game or two in Chicago, I think they're in. -
(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
HoosierFan1994 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He is having an awesome season. His team, Reitz, plays mainly Freshmen and Sophomores. Going to watch him play tomorrow in the Sectional Semi's. Rumor around Evansville is that he is going to a prep school after this season. I can't blame him, just wish he would stick around for one more season due to the weak junior class. He would probably be the best player in the state next year. -
Tennessee reminds me of Purdue last year. Don't know if anyone feels that way. A good team but I think they are overrated. They are Sweet 16/Elite 8 good but I don't see them in the Final Four. That's how I felt about Purdue last year when they spent time in the top 5.

I think you are spot on. I think one of Moore or Forrester sticks around. I'll guess Moore. Not good that Forrester's dad is on twitter. -
