I agree. He said that massive changes were underway. I will be pissed if it's the same starting lineup and rotations. Play the Jager kid too. Hopefully he plays hard. -

I think so. He usually has the ESPN Big Ten Tuesday game. -
(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Thanks Chris. If he goes to UK I can't blame him. Them beating the #1 team helped and us losing 10/11 hurt us big time whether we admit it or not. If IU was solid I think he is a Hoosier. -

I'm about to graduate with my masters in administration. I couldn't do any worse than glASS. -
Fred Glass Retiring
HoosierFan1994 replied to southernindianahoosier2's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'd fire Fred Glass right now. He has made some historically bad moves (Extending Crean after one good season, hiring a high school football coach at a Big Ten school, and not looking after our basketball program's APR score). I can't think of any names but literally anyone would be better. Just hire the right coach, give him the resources, and make sure things aren't burned to the ground. One guy I can think of is Chris Reynolds-only because he is an IU guy. He is the AD at Bradley. I know he worked in our athletic department in the early Crean years. I'd want the new AD to sit Tom Allen and Archie Miller down. Give them one more season to prove they are worthy of the job. If not, can them. This athletic department has the resources to hire a good football coach and an elite basketball coach. -
Ouch... that could hurt their final four chances.

I agree with you. I stopped following him. He just wants attention. He never goes into details. -

Wow... did you see the one where he is defending Crean? This makes me think Justin is gone after this year. -

I hope not! He wasn't a high level recruit. He is honestly getting more PT than anyone thought he would. -

I hope one half was one who is tired of this sh!%!!! I hope Rob, Al, Justin, De'Ron, Jerome, Damezi, and Jake are fed up. They are coming back next year. -

I think this team will have a losing record. I agree that it is disturbing they took a step back and aren't playing hard. However, I have hope for next year. I think there will be more new additions to the team. He has to go after grad transfers. I think it is more of a culture issue. I don't want to throw names out there but it's clear at least half the team does not give a sh!% about IU basketball, the fans that support them, or the university. -

Yeah Glass said they are in a "major rebuild" at the meeting. He doesn't have a clue. I think the first mistake he made was extending Crean after one good year. If our APR score is that bad then why didn't he ever step in?? The Tom Allen hire was terrible. -

A few members of the board seemed pretty pissed at Glass. Buckner questioned his hire of Tom Allen and Shoulders told him that patience is running out. -

I have been busy lately and haven't been able to post as much. I really enjoy reading everyones opinions about this team. There really is no excuse to go from 12-2 to 13-11. This season isn't over yet but it sure does look like they took a step backwards in year two of the Archie Miller era. I really like Archie and I'm not ready to can him yet. He got a pass last year and won't this year. It is just frustrating to see Louisville have success in Mack's first year. Chris Beard took Texas Tech to the Elite 8 in year two. It also seems the players are tuning him out like we see in the NBA. I totally agree that there aren't gym rats on this team and it is about culture. A few things about this years team: 1) We didn't see the jump from certain players like we wanted to. Ex: Devonte is the same player he was a year ago, McRoberts has been a shell of himself partly due to injuries, Justin Smith didn't have the season we all thought he would-granted he was a reserve last year, and Juwan really didn't improve. That's not a knock on him, just a fact. Fitzner has been terrible. Quite frankly we all should have seen it coming. He regressed each year at a WCC school. 2) Romeo wasn't as good as we (including me) all thought. He is a very good player but he shouldn't be a one and done. The experts were right on the 2018 class. They all said it was a down class outside of ESPN's favorites in RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson. Example: Based off of his ESPN grade (95) they would have Romeo as #12-16 in this years rankings. He was #5 last year. I am sure it is similar with Rivals and 247. Not saying rankings are everything, but it puts the hype into some perspective. Also, he probably isn't a lottery pick withthe 2019 class as a freshman. If he comes back and gets better I think he could. 3) Jerome not playing really hurts. He is going to be a good player for IU. He can play the 2-4. I would have to think he would have started this year. I think they will be MUCH better next year. No, I'm not saying they'll be a final four team. However, I think you will see more guys that want it and will play hard for CAM. Rob, Al, and Justin need to really improve next year. Hope they have the same drive as Hulls, Sheehey, and Oladipo did in the 2011 offseason. Zeller gets a lot of credit but those three improved so much. TJD will be a big man that we haven't had since Thomas Bryant. I'm not sure on his height but I think he is much better at the 5 than Juwan Morgan or Justin Smith. Keion Brooks would be perfect here. I think he and TJD are 2-3 year players. Add Jerome Hunter in there and you could have a hell of a top 6 rotation. All 6 could come back for the 2020-2021 season (2 jr, 1 so, 3 fr). Armaan Franklin is going to provide depth and have a role that we all thought Rob would have this year. I hope De'ron comes back next year. Really like what he has brought to the team even in his limited role. I'd love a grad transfer big man and/or shooter. If not, Damezi and Jake are going to have to get better if they want PT. I didn't think they would be playing as much as they have been this year (which at times hasn't been much). Not sure what the future holds for Devonte, De'ron, Clifton, and Race. It is frustrating as a fan. I'm tired of losing and being mediocre. However, I think year three will be positive for IU. If not, yes changes will need to be made. Archie isn't getting a free pass. This year has been awful and he deserves the blame. You can't lose the team like he has. However, I'm excited for who he is bringing in. Archie has said all the right things, now it is time to see results. -
(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

I'd love for IU to get Keion. I still think IU would be the best fit for him. UK won't know who they are losing until April/May. Herro and Washington are borderline draft picks. If one or both return they'll be UK's best player with the freshmen they have coming in next year. Michigan State will have Winston, Langford, and Ward another year (that is scary). Not sure he starts on that team. -

I'm a huge sports junkie but I didn't watch the rest of the NCAA games that weekend or the final four. I was so mad. I think I watched the final (Louisville vs. Michigan) but I guess now it didn't happen. -

I think I said something similar yesterday to someone. Sampson would have had IU in multiple Final Fours. However, I'd like decent student-athletes on the team I am rooting for. I'm the same way with football. I really don't want to root on a domestic abuser. -

and a Sheehey, Hulls, Oladipo, and Zeller. Still makes me sick those teams never got past the Sweet 16. In 2012 we had some crappy losses (Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota home game) that prevented us from being a 2/3 seed. They were SOL playing Kentucky again in Atlanta. The 2013 team ran into a bad matchup but still, that was a great team. -
Fred Glass Retiring
HoosierFan1994 replied to southernindianahoosier2's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I love what Shoulders said. That is my opinion too. How much longer can we wait? I never experienced the titles that many of you did. My first memory was the 2002 Final Four run. That's it. I blame Fred Glass and the administration more than Crean and Archie. He let this get out of control. He gave Crean an extension based off of ONE GOOD SEASON and a preseason number 1 ranking. They could have controlled the issues we are facing with the APR score. He really should have been fired for hiring a high school coach to take over a Big Ten football program...LOL I will always root for IU. But it is close for me to become just a casual fan. I'll watch the games and that's it. I won't spend money on merchandise or tickets. I won't read the articles and I won't be as invested in sites such as this. If they don't care why should we as fans? I am a huge dummy for investing too much time into Romeo last spring. I won't ever do that again. But back to Glass-I think if football has another disaster season Glass gets the boot. I'm still not ready to give up on Archie like I am with Tom Allen. I really like the talent he is bringing in. Rob and TJD I think are nice building blocks. The fact they aren't playing hard in these games is what is frustrating. You can't let Rutgers go on a 22-0 run. I don't care what injuries you have.
