  1. Yup. He has one or two games a year where he goes off. Durham and Smith should not be starting. They are role players at best.
  2. I sure hope. Quit playing Green, Smith, and Durham.
  3. Cuban looked like he had just ate some raw beef on Saturday. Could clearly tell how pissed he was at the current product.
  4. Just for the record, I really like the guys Archie has brought in. TJD will be an All-American candidate next year. Jerome is a wild card. I personally think he should be starting right now. However, Phinisee, Brunk, and Armaan are role players-as of right now. (Rob and Armaan could be very good as upperclassmen). I like Leal, Geronimo, and Galloway but I think of them as role players too. Archie has to get a grad transfer for next year that can shoot it and handle the ball. They are out there. Nothing against Justin and Al, but I wouldn't cry if they left the program to play somewhere else next year.
  5. Hey Chris I was just wondering ( I'm sure you've touched on it before) but given what we know so far in the Archie era, do you think he is the long term answer for this program? With Glass retiring would the new AD bring in his own guy for next season or would you expect him to let Archie get a 4th year? Is the APR still really hurting Archie? He only has 4 Crean recruits on his team.
  6. This was truly awful. Most hyped up game in years at Assembly Hall and this happens. I'm a moron to think this team was going to win by 20 plus today. A few things: 1) This team lacks that leader. I'm sure they are great people, but I am ready for De'Ron, Devonte, Justin, and Al to be gone. They don't bring enough to the table. Our underclassmen have potential but they aren't talented enough (outside of TJD) to carry this team. 2) I really want to believe Archie is the guy. I do. He has said all the right things. He's recruited really well. But I don't get this. Anyone using the APR excuse-I really wish Archie would have let Al, Justin, and Clifton go when he first took the IU job. We've missed the tournament the last two, maybe now three years. I wouldn't mind them sitting out of the tournament if it meant Archie could bring more of his guys in. We all love TJD, Joey, Rob, Armaan, and Jerome. They aren't good enough to carry this team just yet. 3) The new AD has a decision to make next year. Archie's not going anywhere regardless of what happens this year. But he will be on the hot seat next year.
  7. I hope that this is the day this program turns around. Coach Knight comes back and they go on a long winning streak, make a deep run in the tournament, and get some momentum going into next year.
  8. I'm from Evansville and I'll say this: Kaufman is my number 1 in the 2021 class. I like Lander, but I think Kaufman has a very high ceiling. That being said, go IU!
  9. I would love to be in the Hall tomorrow. Sounds like some big names (Former coach, players, recruits) going to be in attendance. This is the type of game that you just cannot lose. Very similar to the Ohio State game. This is an absolute must win for lots of reasons. Purdue, although they have been more talented in years past, have owned Archie and IU. That ends this year. Eastern, Wheeler, and Haarms have not improved one bit this year and that is hurting them. No excuses tomorrow. After IU beat Michigan State I thought they would go 1-2 in the next three games. Here they are 0-3. You can't lose four plus games in a row this time of the year. At the start of the year I thought that this would be a 8-10 seed kind of team and I still feel that way. After they beat Michigan State I thought they could be maybe a little bit better. This team needs Justin, Al, Devonte, De'Ron to play the role this team needs them to play. I really do love the core of Rob, Armaan, Jerome, TJD, and Joey. I'll take IU by 20 tomorrow. I think something changes.

My thinking is IU wins all the rest of their home games (that puts us at 11 wins) and wins two of their final 6 road games. That can most certainly happen.

It is certainly possible. I think there are going to be a cluster of teams at 12-8/13-7.

I'm going with 7-5 as well. I'd be happy with that or anything above it. That would put us at 22-9 (12-8). Puts us around 6th or 7th in the conference. Win a game in the B1G tournament and get an 8/9 seed. Just my expectations .

THIS. I once liked Izzo. Now-he's just a whiny you know what. Minus last season his teams kept getting bounced early in the tournament. They are the New Orleans Saints of college basketball.

First off-the environment was amazing last night at Assembly Hall!!! Need to be like that all the time-not just for ranked teams. IU doesn't win that game without Al Durham last night. For him to play as many minutes as he does he needs to contribute at or near the level he did last night. He gave IU great minutes. Thank goodness for Joey Brunk. Wow, what a steal. I bet Butler wishes they had him. He and TJD have changed the culture for this team. Hope Race is okay, he was a monster early in the game. This team needs to take it one game at a time. I don't want to speak too soon, but last night was the most fun I've had watching this team since the tournament win over UK 4 years ago. Really hope things are headed in a good direction. That was probably one of the best if not the best win of Archie's tenure. Season was sort of at a crossroad. If we had lost we'd be in the bubble talk. Now that we won that has to bump us up. Keep winning and it'll take care of itself.

I like the Lickliter hire. He's not a "splash" like Walter but he's probably a better X's and O's kind of guy. Keep him a few years and let him build with the players that knew him.

It was just announced. Like minutes ago. Good hire. Todd knows the players. Bennie is a great guy (we all know this from his time at IU) but he did not know this team. In fact, he took Todd's spot when he retired in August.

Todd Lickliter has been named the coach at UE

I live in Evansville. That is one of the many rumors. I've heard that and I've also heard nasty screen shots of messages have been going around of coach. Bottom line is he put himself in a situation and was warned. University had no choice. IU is always my #1 team but the Aces have been right behind for years. This is really dissapointing and a major blow to the city. I went to a majority of the home games this year. The crowds were the best they have been in over 20 years. The city backed this team. Walter was the right guy for the program. They got a little more hype than they should have because they beat Kentucky. They weren't an NCAA Tournament team just yet but they were close. Now, they will most likely start all over unless they hire someone the players would all love.

Probably the most important week of Archie's IU career thus far. Two home games against two top 20 teams. If IU wants to show that they belong in the B1G race, they win these two. I expect 1-1 but I could see 2-0 just like I could see 0-2. This will tell us a lot about this team.

    Samari Curtis (2019) to Nebraska

What's weird is nobody has heard a peep on the McCarty situation. I would have to think this guy wouldn't commit if he knew McCarty was going to be gone soon. That's why he left Xavier and Cincinnati-because the previous coach left.
  21. Haven't been on as much as I'd like to be. All I can say is if Rob Phinisee can play at or near the level he did on Saturday, this is a Top 20 team. Big week for IU. Two road games at good, but beatable Rutgers and Nebraska. Will be thrilled if they go to 2-0. The Big Ten is drunk this year. Starting 5-2 with home games against Michigan State and Maryland next would be huge. It is fair to keep in mind expectations. I thought this team would hover around .500 in the Big Ten this year. Figured that would be good for an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Think it was 2010-2011. They just came off back to back final four appearances. They were a top 3 team to start the season. I'm not sure they even got outside the first round. Michigan State is a weird team. They have had some teams that should have made the final four only to get beat early in the tournament (see 2012, 2016, 2018)
  23. Hate that I haven't been able to be on here that much this season. Was really proud of the way the team played last night. Few things: 1) My preseason pick of Devonte making All-Big Ten could come true. He is really focused for his senior year. 2) TJD is a star. I think he will only be at IU for two years. Big time get for Archie. 3) What an improved Justin Smith. He really worked hard this offseason. 4) Armaan Franklin really gave IU some good minutes last night. 5) Even though Al didn't score a lot I thought he played well in other areas. Florida State is a really good team. There aren't many teams who have made at least the Sweet 16 the last two years. They are one of them. To do what IU did to them without Rob in awesome. I hope that this isn't like the Marquette/Louisville wins last year. I have a different feeling about this team. I really do think this is what we have been hearing Archie preach about.

There could be a really good game Sunday Night in the Bahamas tournament. Evansville and Liberty. Big mid-major matchup. Would be the championship of that tournament.

Really like this team so far. Granted yes we haven't played good teams. A few things of note: 1) So far what a jump by Justin Smith and Al Durham! That is what you expect from your upperclassmen. 2) TJD is going to be a star. He already is! He is going to get better as the season goes on. 3) Race Thompson is a grown man. If this team stays healthy I think IU is a top 4 team in the Big Ten this year and probably a top 25 team. Time will only tell. They have things to get better at but no complaints tonight.
