Romeo Langford - BCM Gravelines Dunkerque
HoosierFan1994 replied to Trish's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
My money is on him to be the bust of the draft. Scouts don't have a lot of film on him. I thought he was a turnover machine as well. -
Just looked..only 9 one and dones picked so far...

Romeo Langford - BCM Gravelines Dunkerque
HoosierFan1994 replied to Trish's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Happy for Romeo. Great franchise. State ties with Brad Stevens and Gordon. Boston won't ask him to do a lot with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward on the wings. 15-20 minutes a game as a rookie is perfect for his development. Boston may get some free agents this year and have some draft picks in the next few years. He could be a building block on a really good team in the near future. -
Are they trading 18, 32, and Warren? I think Warren is a decent piece.

Romeo Langford - BCM Gravelines Dunkerque
HoosierFan1994 replied to Trish's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Realistically, I think he goes 11-15. Best fit to me is Detroit. Playoff team from a year ago, nice frontcourt and a good shooter in Kennard. I think Romeo would play a decent role for them. They won't have to rely on him to do a lot in his first year or two. Same thing with Miami. They don't have the star power but I don't think he would have to play right away like he would in Minnesota, Atlanta, and Charlotte. I think that is a recipe for disaster if he has to play 25-30 minutes as a rookie. 15-25 seems ideal. -

No way. He has too much potential and this draft isn't really that deep past 20. -

Any guesses on where he may go? I could see him as early as #9 to Washington or as late as #15 to Detroit. Obviously trades could happen. I think he has a lot of potential and would love to see the Pacers get him. I just don't think he will be around that late. Right now I say #11 to Minnesota. This draft has three really good players and a log jam from #4 to #20. -
(2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
HoosierFan1994 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That is what I was thinking. It seems he has had a great spring. I think he is the type of kid IU needs. Would love to have him. Maybe three straight Mr. Basketball's? -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
HoosierFan1994 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes and that is why getting Brunk was a huge plus for IU. IU doesn't need him to get 12pts 7rb 2blk as a freshman. However, I think he is talented enough to get close to that. -
(2020) PG - Nijel Pack to Kansas State

Hate losing talented kids out of state. However, you can't get them all. -
Corruption in College Basketball
HoosierFan1994 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I am with you. They need to be punished. I've said on here many times, I get hanging out in the grey area. However, this is beyond that. People went to jail for this crap. If I had to guess Kansas and Louisville are your "blue bloods" and Arizona along with LSU are involved. I noticed all four of these schools are somewhere in these early top 10's for next season. They better enjoy it, it could be their last great season for awhile. -

Amen to this. TJD, Joey, De'Ron are all legit options at the 5. I cannot remember the last time IU had this many at the 5. They have decent options at the 4 (Justin, Race) I know rankings aren't everything but I agree, usually they are correct on your top 25-30 kids. I think TJD will play starter minutes for Indiana this season (20-25 a game). From what I saw in high school, I think he is ready. I think it will be between he and Carton for B1G FOY. -
(2021) PF Trey Kaufman to Purdue
HoosierFan1994 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
A lot can happen in two years. There is a chance TJD could be in the NBA or Hunter may never work out. I think Furst is going to be hard to get. Purdue has limited schollys in '21 so I think they will go all in on him. However, I think Lander and Kaufman are must gets for Archie. For Archie to get top out of state kids, he HAS to win. Lucky for him he can get really good in state kids who can help with that (Romeo, Rob, TJD, Armaan). However, that lineup above could be really really good. -
2021 General Recruiting Thread
HoosierFan1994 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That is a huge plus that Purdue has limited offers for '21. I think they go all in on Furst. That one will be tough to get. Feel confident in Lander, Kaufman, and Goode. -

Hoping for this: PG Lander-top 15 PF Furst-top 30 PF Kaufman-top 75 SG Goode-top 100 Lander and Furst look like day one starters. Phinisee, Lander, Hunter, Furst, and TJD starting 5. -

I think you are exactly right. Sitting a year wasn't in their plans. Give IU one more year and if it doesn't work move on. Hope it works out. -
2020 General Recruiting Thread
HoosierFan1994 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'm thinking a three man class (two guards one big.) 2021 is a massive class in-state. I'll take a 4 man class there (Lander, Furst, Kaufman, Goode). I don't see IU getting a top 50 player (unless that player commits and explodes during the season). I'd love Love (no pun intended) but I think he goes elsewhere. Phin is running the point for three more seasons. From realistic options I'll go with the following: #1 RJ Davis #2 Matt Cross #3 Anthony Leal #4 Trey Galloway From what the experts have said I'm confident IU is going to get Cross and Leal. Only way I see Leal going elsewhere is if IU gets a guard that is better than him (Love). Sounds like the family wants to make sure he is a top priority at IU. 2020 can be a solid class. I don't see any future All-Big Ten players. I see more of a Justin Smith and Al Durham like class. Solid role players in the first two years and could be starters after that. I just hope in two years we are talking about a Phinisee, Lander, Hunter, Furst, TJD starting line up. These guys would be perfect role players on that team. -

Vonleh was awesome on the boards. However, seemed limited on offense. Hope that's not the case with TJD. I think he can score 12 a game in year one. Offense has to come from someone right? -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
HoosierFan1994 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree. I'm predicting he is the Big Ten FOY and All-Big Ten/All-American good his sophomore year. Exactly the kind of kid Archie needs. Those who are all-in and want to get better. I get having NBA dreams, but you have to put in work to get there. -
You can't. Kawhi will go off. I think it's up to the others (Lowry, Green, Siakam, VanVleet). Getting OG back would be huge for Toronto.
-
Warriors in 6. Think this will be a really good series. I've thought for a few years that Kawhi was a top 3 player in the league. I just think the Golden State is too good. I don't know the impact Durant will have but Curry, Green, and Thompson will step up. Think Iggy has a good series.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
HoosierFan1994 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm with you on the bad luck. Sports does take luck at certain times. (Virginia had some luck in the tournament.) Hope that changes soon. -
Spent time looking at the "early top 25's". They have a little more substance now with the draft deadline. Some kids will still come back after going undrafted and some transfers remain. Some takeaways: 1) The Big Ten is going to be the best conference by far. Michigan State is the consensus #1 team. Maryland and Ohio State will be final four contenders. Purdue and Michigan will be solid. Think Iowa and Minnesota are tournament teams. That seems to be bad news for IU but... 2) I think the rest of college basketball is going to be really really weak. Teams don't seem to be as talented as last year. (Example-Duke is the #2 preseason team in lots of polls..no way they are more talented than last years team. Same with UK-top 4 team) Lot of teams starting from scratch. That is good news for IU. They will play in the #1 conference. I have them as #8 in the Big Ten. That probably gets you an 8-10 seed in the tournament. No, banner six isn't coming in 2020 but making the tournament is a good step. 3) As I said Michigan State is the clear cut #1. Doesn't mean anything but I don't see who else can take the top spot. Duke, Memphis, and UK will be talented. But I am adamant the one and done stuff doesn't work. Louisville is an intriguing team. Experience, grad transfers, top 10 class. I think this is a massive year for Archie Miller. They are relying on player development this year. I can see a scenario where if football really does bad that puts Fred Glass in a bad spot. If IU misses the tournament in this scenario I think the board fires Glass. Not sure what a new AD would do with Archie. I see IU as a 18-13 .500 Big Ten Team. We will see. Also unrelated but my Indiana college bold prediction is that the Evansville Aces will make the NCAA tournament this season. The Valley isn't what it used to be and McCarty has a ton of talent here. I think they have two top 150 kids. Think they had four total kids sitting out last year and all four could have started.
-
Yup. 5 years ago you knew who was on your team for next year by the end of the spring semester. Now you don't 100% know until the fall. I don't like it. I hope all parties can work together for something that benefits everyone.

2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
HoosierFan1994 replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Spot on on all three. I hope Al makes the same jump he made from freshman to sophomore year. Justin Smith really could have NBA potential if he gave that effort 100% of the time. My bold 19-20 pick is Devonte makes the All-Big Ten team. That stretch at the end of the season I think will help his confidence. Al I think will prove he is a starter at a good program this year. Justin is 50/50. If Jerome Hunter surprises us or if TJD can play the 4 consistently I think Justin transfers by Christmas.
