Bingo. I don't like it either but they are probably pissed. -

I do too...he has 5 star vision. A good offseason would do wonders for him. I just don't want the family to bring down the culture. As I said above the family is probably frustrated. They were most likely misled by the staff into Khristian leaving Reitz a year early. That's on them too. -

I would hate to see him leave too. He's from my hometown and I'd love to see the kid succeed. That being said...mommies don't need to be sending the coaches text messages-assuming this is true. If that's how they are going to be well goodbye. We can blame Archie all we want (he for sure is #1 to blame) but this is part of the problem too. Smith's dad and I think Forrester's dad were running their mouths on Twitter in the past few years. Leal's mom tweeting "play him!!" That just doesn't work at Indiana. I know a lot of you hate Dakich but this is where he is spot on. It might at another program. Purdue had a mom running her mouth online. That kid is gone now and I'm pretty sure he's not having much success at the other school. It just doesn't work. That being said KL should still be in high school. I bet that is why mom used the term "used car salesman" They were probably misled by Archie. I feel bad for the kid. Good chance he would've been Mr. Basketball and could've contended for a state title at Reitz. They won sectionals without him. Imagine if he was on the team still. -

I wouldn't fall out of my chair if they announce something tomorrow to be honest. I'm sure dialogue has happened. Some of you have even predicted this might be mutual. I don't see how Archie even wants to come back. -
Just clicked over to HSN. Their "Fire Archie Thread" wasn't loading for me because the web activity is so busy.

My thoughts that mean nothing..it's time for a change. I have no doubt Archie Miller is a good man. It just hasn't clicked at Indiana. To me, losing your last six games has to be the final straw. They were in the tournament before this collapse. You just can't keep him around. Scott Dolson makes good money to figure this out. You simply can't keep him for another year. My gut feeling..he is gone and it will be a mutual agreement. I have no clue who the next coach will be. But it needs to be a proven winner at a P5 conference. Archie Miller will be successful at a school like Dayton. I'd love to have him as the UE coach if it comes open. But this can't continue.

Crazy how much you miss if you don't check this in the morning...just to recap @Chris007 Last night (or the final game) will be it for Archie and Dolson is comfortable that there is interest in this job?. -
This just hit me...it was a year ago on the Wednesday of the Big Ten tournament when it all hit the fan. Early in the second half the NBA news broke. I knew then and there this would've been the last game of the season. I stopped caring about the game. It was like the Maryland game when the Kobe news broke.

Indiana Basketball should be able to pay a coach in the top ten as far as salary goes. I think Miller was 20. That's unacceptable. -

Only thing that would change my perspective on Miller would be a 2011-2012 like season. Indiana went from being in the basement of the Big Ten to a legit National Title contender in one season. -

I 100% expect Lander to make a jump. I'm from Evansville so I've seen him play. He doesn't strike me as a 5 star recruit/one and done like the media thought. But he can be an All-Big PG. He totally should be in high school still. In fact his Reitz team would've had a legit shot at State. But that being said had he stayed at Reitz and waited to commit, I think he would've ended up choosing Michigan. -

I think I said this last week but I wish Terry Hutchens was still around. He would for sure write a book about this and it would be terrific. I have a few guesses as to why it failed. 1) I think (key word think) Archie was afraid to coach Romeo. I think that ultimately pissed off the team and set the tone for the last few years. Say what we want about Calipari, but I think the reason Romeo didn't consider UK was because Cal wouldn't kiss his a$$. 2) He inherited a terrible roster and for whatever reason kept a lot of these guys here. Now was that Archie's choice, admins? Who knows. He just didn't inherit a big ten roster. 3) That being said, he missed on recruits. Jake Forrester, Damezi Anderson...it's looking like Jerome and Rob were overrated . Archie had to hit on that 2018 class. Imagine if Jake, Damezi, Jerome, and Rob lived up to the expectations of the staff. This team would be pretty good with the addition of Trayce and Armaan. Outside of Romeo that class is almost as bad as the movement. 4) I think he lost the fan base losing 12/13 in the 2018-2019 season. Each of the last three coaches have lost the fan base and it's hard to recover from that..right or wrong... Davis lost it by missing the tournament two years in a row, Sampson by the NCAA Violations (Although those seem minor now), and Crean losing to Syracuse in 2013. -

What's crazy..I think under the right circumstance this isn't a bad roster. I just have zero faith in this coaching staff. If Parker Stewart is as good as we think and Armaan improves a little, you have two potential All-Big Ten guards. When was the last time IU had that? Add Brunk coming back if he's healthy and the addition of Duncomb that's not a terrible frontcourt with Race (I expect TJD to leave). Add in improvement from our freshmen and yes Rob playing better this is probably a tournament team. I didn't expect much from the freshman class this year. Leal has been disappointing because I thought he would bring more shooting wise but Trey and Jordan are contributing about what I expected. I really can't judge Lander yet. He should be in high school still. By no means is this an endorsement for Archie Miller. I just don't think the roster is as bad as we think. -

This is well said! I just think if you know your coach isn't the guy, you move on. It's Scott Dolson's job to find the right guy. Even Brad Stevens isn't a sure thing! Nobody is. But that doesn't mean this program should keep Archie. I'm also curious...was Archie really the only person this university interviewed in 2017? That is pathetic if so. -

Absolutely not. I just find it hard to believe that right now Indiana can't find a good basketball coach who has won at the P5 level for their program. -

Rushing what? He's had four years. The only reason they would bring him backs is because of the buyout. He's done nothing to warrant a 5th year. It's just pathetic and sad that this is what Indiana Basketball has become. Not dogging on you, I appreciate the info you share. We all love IU basketball. It's just the fans are sick of this crap. I'm sure you are too. The first team I really followed was the 2001-2002 team that went to the title game. I remember watching Bob Knight/IU games at my grandparents house. It was such a big deal then. I've never really seen this program take off like it did in the 70's, 80's, 90's. I got a small taste in 2012/2013. Tickets to an IU game are expensive. Merchandise is expensive. Cable TV to watch IU games is expensive. A lot of people spend their hard earned money on this program. I think that's about to stop. The COVID pandemic taught all of us we can find entertainment other than sports. Bringing Archie back another year just shows that they don't care about the basketball program. I'm sorry, if you're the "state school" "top basketball school in the state" you don't miss the tournament when it's in your home state yet alone on your home court. You don't lose 9 in a row to freaking Purdue. You don't miss the tournament essentially 3/3 years that they've had it. -

What has he even done to warrant another season other than the crappy contract Freddie handed out to him. He's missed the tournament in the three years they've had it in his tenure (would've been a 10/11 seed last year with a first round exit) He's 0-7 vs. Purdue..that itself should get a coach fired. He has a losing record against Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan...add Purdue that's almost 1/3 of the league. I think he's lost all momentum recruiting this state like Crean did. The top three recruits in the 2021 class are going to rival Big Ten Schools. Most importantly it's been the same thing over and over again. Crappy offense, inability to close games out...his teams get worse as the season goes on. Archie Miller is a great guy. I hate it that it hasn't worked out at Indiana. In 2017 he was on my second tier list of coaches. I thought he could be the guy. He's not. It's time to move on. Bringing him back is a slap in the face to anyone that spends their time, money, and energy on this program. -

If they don't make the move this year it's going to be ugly next year. Half empty Assembly Hall, low ratings...I've watched only a few games this year. Would probably by 0 next year. Sad thing is...they might actually be better next year and only because of improved guard play and frontcourt depth. If Parker Stewart is as good as people think he is and if Armaan makes another jump that will be the best backcourt in years here. Brunk and Duncomb with Race would be a good frontcourt. Thing is I have zero faith in this coach. -
I'll take Illinois over Michigan. I wouldn't count Purdue out either. All 3 are playing extremely well right now. Kills me to say this, but Purdue is going to be a legit national title contender next year if Williams comes back.

I went to Assembly Hall on the day Indiana introduced Archie. It was spring break and I just wanted to head up to Bloomington. I'll never forget the players walking out of the tunnel for his press conference. They looked like zombies. Months later I went to the infamous Indiana State game. The players again just looked like zombies on the bench. I don't get it. These guys just don't look like they are interested in playing. I've never really seen heart from this team. Is that all on Archie or the players? -

The emails are what makes our fan base look silly. That being said Indiana fans are fed up. Of the last 12 NCAA Tournaments, Indiana has only made 4....that's 33% (still more likely than this current team hitting a 3 pointer). I understand why fans won't accept a Dane Fife and another mid-major hire. However I do think whoever it is, they need to have a chance. You never know. I didn't think Howard would be very good at Michigan. Beard at Texas Tech. -

I 100 % agree about Brunk and Armaan and I know you aren't making excuses, but some fans do use the injuries as a crutch. Illinois beat Michigan by 23 without their best player. Teams win all the time with injuries. That is on Archie Miller to make sure there is depth.
