Does his guys name rhyme with Rad Evens?
-
Did this happen after the Big Ten Tournament on Friday?
-
If that is really the case I suspect the university will announce his departure anytime. Why wait if this really happened?
-
This...100%. That is why I'm not worried about if there isn't a presser today. If Archie Miller is truly safe, if I were him I would be pissed my boss didn't back me up (not that he deserves it) when almost everyone wants me out.
-
His reddit name is IUBBInsider. He posted yesterday that there would be a press conference today. His source is someone "intimate with the administration". His track record is credible too.
-
That is what I was getting ready to say. That dude is 3 for 3. Small sample size but still. He even called the exact time Leal would commit.

Someone want to let Kent know?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmKkHRKJpD0

I think it's like @Chris007 said. People have heard multiple things. We will see what happens. I think something goes down today for sure.

If Indiana is going to fire Archie, this is a huge step forward IMO. I don't think Fred Glass would've fired Archie with a 10 mil buyout. He would've waited another year. We saw that with Crean in 2015. That being said, I have to think (and this has been said on here) they are getting a proven winner. Not a Dane Fife, not a Gates. It has to be a proven P5 winner. You don't fire Archie Miller to replace him with a coach who has a similar resume as him. You just don't, not with a 10 mil buyout. If I had to put money on someone (and frankly I've went from Alford to Fife so who the hell knows) I'd say Eric Musselman is the guy. I don't know if Stevens leaves one year after his extension. They would really have to wow him. I think Beard is a Texas guy and don't see him coming to Indiana. The next guy that comes to mind would be Musselman. I would HOPE Indiana University could lure a coach from a football school. -

One of his posts said "expect Anthony Leal to commit to IU around 4:30"..I'm pretty sure he did...I was at a golf scramble that day and it was the late afternoon. Only someone with inside info would say that. -

This guy also called Anthony Leal and Joey Brunk to IU. He has a few posts...he's 100% so far. I hope this is right. -

I think he predicted Mike Roberts. Meaning he's credible. -

I was about to post this...wow -
Preach. 2012 and 2018. I think it's important to get the best player in the state if he's a high level player. Anthony Leal is not a high level player. Rob Phinisee is not a high level player. The 2020 in-state class was pretty weak. I think the 2021 in-state class is pretty overrated outside of Kaufman. I think the whole obsession over in-state recruiting is fans were pissed about losing some really good players that would've done well at IU (Gary Harris, Trey Lyles, Kyle Guy to name some). Bottom line is you get the best players you can.

If it's one of those "Archie is our guy and we believe in him" I will throw up. That would be it for me. -

Even if it's one of those statements that is worded in a positive tone, could they still fire him? -
Probably an unpopular opinion (and the fact that my team sucks at it) but I'm not really a fan of the conference tournaments. The first few days are fun with games on all day. But really today I would say Cincinnati-Houston is the one to watch since Cincy would be a bid thief. LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, and Illinois have nothing but pride to play for today. This game does not impact their seeding. I bet with the same the games yesterday. Now Georgetown and Oregon State stole bids and that was fun to see. But overall I don't think they change much-especially with geography not having an impact on the tournament this year (Louisville winning the Big East screwed us out of the overall 1 seed/Indy Region in 2013). Another one...I don't understand the debate over bubble teams. They treat it like it's the college football playoff. Outside of VCU in 2011 who was the last bubble team to advance really far in the tournament? These teams don't deserve to get in. I feel like the bubble teams get worse each year. How is Drake considered an At-Large team?? Their only good win is against Loyola who beat them twice by double digits. How is Duke in the "Next four out" range? I just don't understand the hoopla over it.
-
Wow! Pretty sure Collin even came back one more year to play when Archie arrived. If he thinks this way imagine what other former players think.
-
Wonder if they'll do what they did four years ago and drop the news at a crazy time...like right when the Selection Show begins on CBS.

Agree. Imagine all the hoopla if Indiana fires Archie and the position is vacant for a few months. Everybody will know what's coming. -

Good. I'm not saying to "force" a hire but my goodness there is somebody out there that can go a great job at Indiana. There is no need to bring Archie back. -

I get the feeling that while Archie is a terrific human being, his brother is not. -
Me too...Michigan worries me with Livers out. This is the deepest the B1G has been since 2013. Lots of teams that I can see making a Final Four run...Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and yes Purdue.
