If it's a UNC guy it would be Wes Miller. -

Interesting time in college basketball. Lots of successful programs have coaches on the way out soon..Duke, Michigan State, Syracuse to name some. -
Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

haha I wish that someone would do this today. Couldn't you see Goodman going on his twitter claiming Renko is a 5 star recruit? -

It is not easy to replace a legend...we all know this. UNC had two coaches before Roy and it didn't workout. -
CBB: Roy Williams Retires from UNC

UNC has had two of the best coaches 56 of the last 60 years. Almost like Green Bay having Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers back to back. Going to be real interesting to see what happens to their program. -
Seeing Roy Williams has retired..not sure if that is an April Fools joke or not.

Thanks to those who cleared that up for me...one more question. Does everyone get an extra year? Let's say after next season Phinisee wants to play one more season. Can he?

Mike Woodson to be next IUBB coach. Thad Matta to be associate AD

So are there 13 scholarships still this year? If everyone comes back that leaves I think one spot. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if everyone returned. That tells you they believe in Woodson. But I kind of hope he can bring in a couple guys from the transfer portal. -

Interesting. It seemed he was one that was leaving. I listened to Woodson with Dakich and Greenburg on the way to work today. Woodson made it obvious he wanted everyone back but also said he isn't waiting around. Someone replied to me yesterday and they were right-Woody is basically saying get on board or get overrecruited. -

Any others outside of Lander close to coming back? -

My guess is Dane Fife and Lander?? -
Indiana State. I was there. Not fun..

Have to feel Lander is next based on his tweet.

I think my favorite part of the hire is the national media hates it. They are wrong on everything so I feel good about this! I was worried about recruiting but Dakich sold me on his ability to recruit. He was involved in NBA free agency. That is pretty much recruitment. -

Good deal. His first little victory. I assume Stewart stays. Keep TJD along with Lander and/or Franklin. That would be big. -
Yes. It works. Having 11 scholarship players meant IU couldn't do that. Not sure it would have mattered this year since everyone gets an extra year but ideally someone like Leal would've benefitted from it.
-
I really hope he can keep the guys who don't play as much involved. One thing I wish they would use is the redshirt year.
-
I think this could be the starting lineup. Lander, Franklin (if he returns), Stewart, Hunter, TJD. I'm really curious to see how deep Woodson's bench is. The trend seems to be a 7-8 guy rotation.
-
I'd have to think we hear something soon. I'm sure Woodson wants to hit the transfer portal after he has an idea of his roster. Just reading the tea leaves from other people, my guess is a combo guard who can shoot it and a stretch 4 is going to be the number 1 priority. Not that Hunter can't start, but I think that is a hole on the roster.

Don't get me wrong, I want Franklin back. But man that is a lot of talent if just those three portal/NBA decision guys come back.

Don Fischer & Mike Woodson Interview (TONIGHT @7:30)
HoosierFan1994 replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I can't imagine listening to an IU game without Don Fischer. -
I sure hope to see Providence in the tournament next year. As well as our Hoosiers. Al deserves it.

You not watch him at Arkansas? True he's not a 3 point threat but he still played the 4 spot a lot there and had success. It's possible if he can defend. -

I think Woodson only plays one big the majority of the time. He won't play as much for Woodson in my opinion. Sounds like he wants to play close to home assuming he has a year left. My only thing about Franklin is he and his mom act like they are all about IU. If that's true-he stays. Obviously I'm not a player but hearing about Mike Woodson's style vs. Archie Miller's style this should be music to their ears. Probably will get flack for this comment but part of me hopes Woodson gave them a deadline. Meaning by a certain date they are either in or out. I know Archie recruited them but they committed to play at IU. Woodson gave his pitch. They are either in or out. -

I think he tests the NBA draft waters (as he should) but I would be surprised if he isn't back. Lots of mock drafts had him as a mid 2nd rounder before the season. He's fallen out of the top 60. A third year makes sense. Play for a former NBA coach, get your degree in three years, and improve your draft stock. If he develops a nice mid range shot he gets drafted.
