I'm gonna drink the Kool-Aid...21 is low for this team IF Trayce returns and they can add another key player. ZERO reason this team can't compete next year.

Means nothing but if Trayce does return and they can land a shooter zero reason Indiana can't be in the discussion next year.

Here we go everyone...this is it for the season. I hope we have an epic finish like 2008, 2010, or 2016.
-
Yeah he's a legend for sure. Just kind of got tired of him. A lot like Berman on ESPN. Just don't like him on the #1 CBS crew. Agree on Hill.
-
Yep! and I bet they'll expand. I wasn't the biggest Goodman fan a year ago but he's solid. I hope they add some Big Ten guys next year to cover.
-
I really like Ian Eagle. College basketball is the only big sport where the people who really cover it all year don't play a part in the postseason. Outside of Kellogg and freakin Seth Davis. That has to change. I said it yesterday but give the Field of 68 guys a listen. They did a great job this week. I think they'll start to really take off soon. College hoops lacks the coverage in general.

So sick of these dumb commercials....
-
Like Cal, he's a HOF coach no doubt. But, kind of surprising with all the talent he has had only 4 Final Fours and 1 Title...He's really blown it with some teams. I know it's hard to win..but still.
-
This crew is awful. Nantz is great for the NFL and Golf. But he shouldn't get rewarded for calling 3 basketball games before the tournament. CBS puts the worst people on for this tournament...Kellogg is really the only one I like.
-
UNC just more physical...my goodness. Bacot putting up an all-time performance. Also, as much crap as Calipari is starting to catch, I think Bill Self should be there right with him...if they don't win this game. Still don't think it's over. We will see. Also..love Hubert Davis. He was awesome years ago on ESPN. I don't think he will be a one hit wonder like Kevin Ollie. He's going to be up there with Dean Smith and Roy when it's all said and done.

Going Kansas tonight in a close one 78-74. Worried about Bacot's health for UNC. I just hope it's a good game.

(2023) - SF Kwame Evans

FINALLY some good news! If Woodson can pull this off.... Sounds like IU for sure has a shot. -
Not the biggest fan of these guys but the Hysterics had an interesting thing on Twitter with someone who I guess saw this happen. Anyone else listen to it?

To me, the X news today and Rob leaving have been the two biggest downfalls of this offseason. Rob had a perfect role at IU for us but not for him. He just wants to play more. That being said, Thad leaving I don't think is a big deal. Goodman (I know most of you hate him but he is in the know) pretty much said Woodson didn't even listen to him at all this year. This has zero impact on wins and losses for next year. Part of me does believe the rumor that there was interest between Thad and IU to be the HC but either he wasn't ready or the university felt he wasn't there health wise. Idk... but good luck to him. He was awesome at Butler, Xavier, and Ohio State. But his last few years at Ohio State showed he wasn't there health wise. Look at how much of a grind college basketball coaching is. Musselman just ended his season and he is all in for the transfer portal. Can Thad be all in like he was for most of his time at OSU?
-
Field of 68 guys (highly recommend you guys listen to them. They are all college hoops junkies like us) said this. Talked about Al Durham. He was the third best player on a B1G team but could be the best player on a Big East team. You are going to see this happen a lot.
-
Question for the board...IF Xavier gets dismissed from the team (I don't think he does but it wouldn't surprise me) does that open the door for Phinisee to maybe want to come back? Personally would rather go through the portal route IF this happened.

IUBB Players in the Portal/Draft Exploratory Status
HoosierFan1994 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think had he stayed at Reitz and had a summer 2020 AAU season he would've fallen to the 40's-70s in rankings for sure. In-State wise Kaufman and Furst would've passed him. I was pumped we were getting him because I thought he would be a solid PG. But I never saw 5 star when I saw him play. It sucks. I hope he ends up at a good school for him. -
It's refreshing to see people have a normal, civil conversation even if they don't share the same viewpoint. Why BTown Banners is the best.

For sure. But refusing to pull over and running a stop sign…not good guys. Again, I get everyone wanting to give him a second or third chance. He’s one of our own. But me (my opinion doesn’t mean a thing lol) I’m just tired of it. The second chances didn’t work out with Hanner and Emmitt Holt years ago. Is it a coincidence that when IU got rid of those two from the 14-15 team that they made a Sweet 16 and won a big ten title that next year? I’m just big on culture. Clearly those two had a negative impact on the culture. Hate to say it, but it sounds like X may have a negative impact. Who is to say X won’t put one of our incoming freshman in a situation like Emmitt did with Thomas Bryant? (he deserved blame too) Get guys here that’ll do the right thing.
-
Ok, let’s say he was going, say 65. Avoiding police is pretty serious. And then on top of that changing seats…
-
Eh… shouldn’t be hard to prove he was going that fast. Dash cam? Surveillance footage from businesses? Remember with Ruggs (Raiders player) multiple cameras caught him going that fast. I get what you’re saying. But again, he shouldn’t get a slap in the wrist for this. We all need to take our cream and crimson glasses off. This isn’t good.
-
I totally get it and you bring up good points. Ultimately I’ll trust Woodson and side with whatever he wants. I’m all in on him right now. If he lets X stay, then I’ll root like hell next year for X and hope he grows up. I just see people talking about Mark Few, Banchero, and Gillis getting away with what they did. That’s all BS I 100% agree but I don’t care. I care about Indiana. Not Gonzaga, Duke, or Purdue. I’d like to root for a team that has their players doing the right thing and holds them accountable. Which is why it was sick to hear about what went on during the Sampson era.
-
I side 100% with you. He’s about to be a 5th year senior. He should know better. I don’t want IU to repeat what happened in 13-14 and 14-15. What Yogi and Stanford did was stupid. But they didn’t put anyone at risk and they were much younger. Yogi grew up. I still think Holt and Perea should’ve been kicked off the team as soon as their first issue happened. It’ll be interesting to see what Woodson does.
-
Details from the report aren’t exactly great guys…really disappointing to see some fans (not on here) act like it’s no big deal. Going 90 on a street and avoiding police shouldn’t be a slap on the wrist. I like X and he’s probably the number 1 guy I want back on this current team over anyone (even Trayce) but as someone said earlier, when is it enough? Not like he’s some freshman. He’s about to be a 5th year senior… he’s supposed to be the leader of this team. Is this the guy IU wants in that role? I do believe a huge reason the 13-14 and 14-15 teams struggled was because of all the off the court issues. Culture of the program wasn’t good. I’m sure there is a lot more we don’t know about either. If I had to guess, I think X is gone. Maybe both sides “mutually agree” a change is best. Idk. If Woodson suspended him and others for curfew (I doubt that was the first strike too), I can’t imagine how this will go down. It’s time for him to grow up.

(2022) PF Malik Reneau to INDIANA
HoosierFan1994 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm not sure why, but even if IU loses Trayce I feel the program will be fine. I obviously want him back. But I get the feeling if he does declare they are going to go after Malik Reneau hard. If Race leaves put Geronimo in his spot. Program still needs to get a consistent shooter.
