100% agree… why drag this out? Hope someone on his side told him that’s kind of silly. Just pick your school and move on.

Not the biggest fan of getting one and dones but he makes sense for a few reasons: 1) Player with Jalen and Malik 2) He'd fill the 5th spot for 23-24: JHS at 1, Tamar at 2, JG at 3/4, Malik at 5. During my IU fandom there have been two recruits I've really followed their recruitment in depth: one was Cody the other was Romeo. He might be number 3 depending on our chances this fall.

Can't wait to get him on campus. I think he's going to be a special player from the day he steps on the court.

No kidding! Saw he is visiting Louisville next week so his decision may be a little later. However, if Dennis commits soon would IU still consider McNeil? Based on size/numbers I think Dennis would be a starter at IU. I'm not 100% sure McNeil starts next year. Being 6'3 I think he would come off the bench. That's why I think Dennis probably has a better chance of coming here... Dexter shoots 34% from 3 on his career. If that number goes up north a little more he would be a sneaky good pickup.

Have to think this time next week we will know way more. 1) NBA Combine invites should be going out soon. I think they send them out after the April 24th deadline. If Trayce gets an invite we won't probably hear about him until around Memorial Day. If he doesn't, he could be back as early as next week. They usually take 60-70 players at the combine. 2) Have to think Dennis and McNeil make their decisions in the next week. I saw @Chris007 said the staff felt confident about Dennis. 3) May 1st deadline is coming up. IF someone is leaving the program, they need to do so by May 1st in order to play right away. My guess is Leal pays his way or Kopp gets a waiver to transfer and play somewhere else. I think Geronimo and Duncomb would have left by now. After the dust settles the fun can begin with possible lineups/rotations and figuring about where IU stands in the B1G and nationally. As far as hype, probably will be the highest IU has been in the preseason since 2016-2017 (that didn't go so well though..)

I'm shocked. I bet it's something that hit him after the season. I coach middle school basketball and that can be exhausting. Imagine coaching a big time college program. He's made 4 final fours and won 2 natty's. Probably a borderline top ten coach of all time. Realistically he probably had another run or two to win a title. But as some say, what else does he have to prove?

Agree. Again, I am one of those who prefers college over the NBA. I've just always thought that if you can still get your degree and you are a 2nd round pick, just come back and get it! Now there is a nice incentive. In the NFL most of the time guys taken on day 3 of the draft are seniors/graduate students.

I'm not sure where everyone stands, but I think it is a very good thing that Oscar is coming back to UK. I agree there need to be some limits on the portal and maybe eventually NIL. I just don't think it's as bad as some in the media think. I like that some of the best players are returning for another season. It makes the game better. I've always thought that if you are a 2nd round pick (especially a late one), you should probably stay in school until you graduate-which for some can be 3 years.

I'm starting to think we don't have to worry about it though...I'm not 100% sure we get Dennis or McNeil. Unlike the previous staff though, I trust this one (so far) to do what is best for the team.

Thankfully we should have a better picture of what the roster will look like here in about ten days. IF a player wants to transfer and play immediately, they must do so by May 1. If you haven't, take a listen to the Assembly Call's most recent podcast on Malik. Thought they brought up a good point. IF McNeil or Dennis commit, what will most likely happen is an IU player will put his name in the portal. If Trayce leaves, they'll come back to IU. If he returns, they will go somewhere else. My opinion-I'm okay with Kopp being the one...Also saw where Rabjohns said he could probably get a waiver to play right away if he wanted to. (Since he is not a grad transfer he would have to sit). On a side note I think I heard on the Field of 68 yesterday that draft combine invites will go out soon. If Trayce doesn't get an invite, that should pretty much confirm he is coming back. That being said, I'd have to think he gets at least an invite.

I am all for this. If Indiana wins..nobody is going to remember/care. I'm not the biggest fan of this, but if they feel McNeil or Dennis would be an upgrade...so be it.

Think I saw on ESPN they have 1/5 of the top 100 guys for this next class. That's a start.

In terms of 5 star players, there will only be 6, maybe 5 in the Big Ten. For IU, Malik and JHS (Trayce was a very high 4 star per 247 and ESPN). Michigan will have Houstan and Diabate. Illinois with Clark. Maybe Michigan State with Max Christie.

If Trayce Jackson-Davis does come back, I think Indiana has to be the unanimous favorite to win the Big Ten. As far as talent goes, no other team will really come close other than Michigan. That doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. But still, lots of excitement building up. Even if he doesn't come back, I think they'll be one of a few teams that can win it.

Wow, I'll be stunned if Illinois is even that good...I can't see them making the tournament. They lost a lot outside of Kofi. I can see Michigan, IU, MSU, and Purdue. IDK about Iowa.

Yeah I remember thinking after the season the B1G would lose a lot of players due to graduation and the NBA. Indiana probably returns the most talent-especially if Trayce returns. They'll have him, two honorable mention guys coming back, and two 5 stars. Add that with our bench guys too. They have to finished in the top 4 in our conference next year. Not always but year two is a really good indicator of your current coach in college sports. (I lost faith in CAM during that long losing streak in his second year) I never want to say Indiana has to win X amount of games in the tournament. But, they should be a top team in the B1G and give them a chance to make a run in March.

I'm a little surprised too. I don't think he gets drafted. Opens the door up even more for Trayce to win B1G player of the year.

Regardless, we should know a lot more by the end of the month. Doesn't the portal window close May 1st? IF someone is leaving our program they will have done so by then correct? Plus draft combine invites will be sent out soon. If Trayce doesn't receiver one I think we will know his decision.

This one is going to be the one to watch this next year. If you can get him to go along with JHS, Tamar, Geronimo, and Malik....

It's a good problem to have. I'm now starting to think they may have to redshirt Banks.

I want to let it ride too. I have to think under this staff someone will develop into a solid 3 point shooter. That being said I'm not going to turn away the best defensive player in a solid, respectable conference.

He was extremely good but I didn’t think he was a one and done kind of guy. If I remember right that was a down class in general. Most years he would’ve been ranked 11 through 20.
