Anyone else going to the game. Looks like typical B1G weather in November. 60, cloudy. -

This has been a PERFECT weekend for IU.. Penn State loses. Iowa State loses. Clemson down big. Need SC to hang on and IU will be in the top ten Tuesday. Heisman wise: Klubnik having a bad game should make Kurtis pass him on the Heisman odds. IMO only Hunter, Jeanty, Gabriel, and Ward should be ahead of Kurtis. He's top 5. -

NFL has a serious problem with how QB's are evaluated. I think this started in 2010 when Tebow was picked in the 1st round and 2011 with Locker/Gabbert. Anthony Richardson doesn't get drafted in the 2000's after his junior year. Certainly not #4 overall. IMO Kurtis should be a top 100 draft pick. I'm awful with the "attributes" they look for. If he goes to the right franchise, maybe sits and learns for a year or two, he can be a starter. -

1) Stubborn me listened to the game on the Varsity App instead of Peacock. Glad I did. Was a beautiful day outside. Got to be out with the kids and listen to this a** kicking. Fish and Suhr are awesome. 2) Kind of thought sooner rather than later we'd see this team face adversity. Last week with Kurtis out. This week being down 10-0. They passed the test. 3) If Kurtis Rourke keeps playing at a high level, he better be in NYC on December 14th... 4) I have zero clue how good of a pro he would be, but Mikail Kamara is an NFL talent. I think he is Indiana's second best player. 5) You can't convince me that Iowa State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and maybe even Penn State are better than IU. Will be interesting to see where they are ranked Tuesday. It would be one thing if IU won a lot of 20-17, 23-20, 24-17 kinda games. But they're not. Closest game was 31-17 with our backup QB. 6) Can't wait to be at the Rock Saturday!! -

Huge news. Nothing against Tayven I still think IU would win but if your Heisman candidate of a QB can play that's fantastic. -

Watched Michigan State-Michigan Saturday night for a bit. Those are two very average 6-6 like football teams. Even if Kurtis doesn't play, as long as the team steps up like they did Saturday, Indiana should win by 10 plus. Game will be won in the trenches with Kurtis or with Tayven. Indiana is #2 in B1G in Rush yards. Michigan State is #12 in the B1G against the run. On the flip side, Michigan State #13 in rush yards, IU is #1 against the run. Outside of Iowa, Michigan State has looked meh this year. If this was a primetime game, I'd be a little more worried. If Kurtis can play, play him. If there are doubts still, I'm fine with Jackson. That the vibe I got yesterday from reading different quotes and pieces. -

Yes, it was right around the UCLA game when I felt the itch to go to a game. Told my wife we probably need to buy the tickets in advance. Glad we did. -

We are in row 5 by one of the end zones..look like great seats. Tickets were $60 a piece. Now they're over $200 so a good deal too. -

How much is it to park there? Thanks for the tips. -
We have tickets for this game. First IU football game I've been to since covid. A little ridiculous they can't come up with a game time. Would be nice if they narrowed it down to two time slots.

About to turn off my Cowboys to rewatch this game. 1) Felt it was a bold statement but seems like everyone is in agreement...Myles Rice I think is the best IU guard since Yogi. I know Ballo probably cost more NIL wise but Rice was the bigger get. Hope he continues to look good. 2) Was nice to see Malik step up. I was thinking there would be a 2012 Verdell or 2022 Race like drop off for him this year. 3) Pretty impressive considering Trey and Tucker were out. Carlyle I thought looked okay on defense? I may be wrong, Trey could be the starting two guard. 4) Three point shooting was meh. That was to be expected. Not to rain on the parade, I don't think Tennessee is #12 good. They deserve to be ranked. But Knecht was a huge loss. The announcer that sounded like Cleveland from Family Guy said it best, they need to find their go to guy. Not sure they have one. Glad they did this game. Outside the Battle 4 Atlantis the non-conference is awful which is upsetting. -
IUFB vs Washington - Saturday, 10.26.24 - ESPN College Game Day
HoosierFan1994 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Not the best the team has played all season but may have been their most impressive win...outside of last week. Most adversity IU has faced all year. When it was 17-7 out of half and they throw the interception...that game could have gone the other way. Instead, they respond with a 14 play drive that results in 7. This team is different! 1) I thought Tayven did his job. He wasn't great. But good enough. I'll take the blame for the INT. Out of half I said out loud the most important thing so far is he hasn't turned the ball over. Would prefer Rourke to come back next week as long as he's capable. It sounds like he should play. 2) Last week on Gameday Thamel said that the only NFL talent IU has is Rourke. I disagree. Kamara has impressed me all year long. Feel like a few of the OL guys could get drafted as well. Surratt and potentially Ellison. Have zero clue where they get picked, but this team has more than one NFL player. 3) Funny seeing one loss #4 Ohio State beat Nebraska by 4. Meanwhile "#13" Indiana beats them by 49. Only B1G team I'm putting ahead of Indiana is Oregon. -
Curious to see what everyone thinks. I like to do this at the start of the year as far as averages for the season. Here is what I was thinking. Tell me where you think I'm wrong/right. Rice 32 Mgbako 27 Reneau 26 Ballo 25 Carlyle 22 Galloway 20 Goode 16 Tucker 14 Cupps 11 Hatton 7 There will be some games Cupps sees nowhere near that and probably some DNP's for Hatton. I can't trust Newton yet to put him in rotation. I think Rice is going to be the Alpha for this team. I think Carlyle and Galloway essentially split time. Depending on matchups there will be some games Galloway sees more playing time. Malik will see time at the 5. At Arizona Ballo played 25-27 minutes a game. That's 13-15 minutes left for him. Lineup I'd like to see the most: Rice, Carlyle, Tucker, Mgbako, Ballo/Reneau
-
Not going to compare the two players as they are different but I'll compare the situations: I think what OG was in 2015-2016 is what Tucker will be for IU in 2024-2025. I love Fanta on the Field of 68. I'm trying to be careful not to fall for this again, but there is so much talent on this roster. This top 8/9 will compete with anyone.

IUFB vs Washington - Saturday, 10.26.24 - ESPN College Game Day
HoosierFan1994 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Same. It was awesome. If it wasn't for my daughter's first birthday, I'd be in Bloomington Saturday just for Gameday. College Football has been third on my sports rankings (1. NFL, 2. NCAAB) but I've always loved Gameday. That and FOX NFL Sunday. No biggie. I'll be there on November 9th when we kick Michigan's a**. -
16/18 IUFB vs Nebraska - Saturday, 10.19.24 @ Noon - HOMECOMING
HoosierFan1994 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I don't think I've ever planned a whole Saturday morning/afternoon around Indiana Football like I did today. I woke up and was just excited. That was awesome!!!! I will be in town November 9th for the Michigan game. Hope that Gameday is there and that IU keeps winning of course. They could set the single season program record for wins that day. What a time to be a Hoosier. -
Awesome article. I've always been a College Gameday fan. Have to think they will make an appearance in Bloomington before the season is over with. Best bet? Might be the 10/26 game against Washington. Georgia-Texas next weekend when Nebraska is in town. Alabama-LSU when Michigan plays IU. Not as many great games on the 26th. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/football/todd-s-take-bring-espn-college-gameday-lee-corso-back-to-indiana-01j9vtd8qw4s

Trent Sisley is an Outstanding Hoosier and (2025) SG - to UConn Thread
HoosierFan1994 replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I absolutely want Mullins. It would be upsetting if IU were to lose an in-state recruit they have been in on since he was a Sophomore, maybe even earlier, to a school that really started working on him last winter/spring. That being said...buddy of mine at work that is an IU fan asked me this: would you rather have Mullins or the P12 FOY. Or Mullins vs. Carlyle. My answer was why not both? I personally think Mullins is a day one starter wherever he goes and would fit well here. That being said I'm really interested to see how this season goes. IF IU has a ton of success with Rice, Carlyle, Ballo, Goode I am not going to be devestated over losing a recruit, especially with portal success. Maybe IU can land the top guard in the portal next spring? This is certainly new territory for college sports as well as us as IU fans. I remember a lot of the media and even myself thinking there was no way IU could add enough in the portal to be competitive this year. On paper (that's all we have right now) Indiana SHOULD be among the top teams in the B1G and a team that is capable of making a run in the tournament. We will see how that goes. I don't buy yet that he's going to UConn. Let's wait and see. If he does, I get it. Back to Back National Champs. They've won 12 NCAA Tournament games in the last two years, IU has won one. Indiana HAS to start winning and doing that now. It's the same thing I said a year about about losing Fland to UK and McNeeley to UConn. -

I'd put the likely order as IU, UConn, UNC, right? Was originally going to announce before his season started in November but I would think that gets pushed up to very soon as in a week or two. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
HoosierFan1994 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Been off for a awhile over the summer. Hope everyone is doing well. Big get for Coach Woodson and co. I was worried Sisley was going to Purdue. This makes me feel good about a class with Harralson, Mullins, and Sisley. Most Hot Boards had Harralson/Mullins ahead of Sisley. Hopefully much better than the disaster of last year. My Cowboys are off to a rough start so Hoosier Hysteria can't come fast enough. Need basketball to get going! Fun time to be an IU Fan with Football and Women's Basketball being nationally relevant. -

Transfer Portal w IU Interest
HoosierFan1994 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This. With Ballo and at times Reneau at the 5, it's not too attractive for someone like Malone. The shooter role, seems to be Goode, we can get someone good. But the backup 5 is probably going to end up being like a Durr or someone similar. If this person ends up playing 20 plus minutes for us we are probably screwed.
