IU Football 2018 Recruiting Class
TXHoosierDaddy replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
This is ridiculous. I get the fact that the kid is 18 yrs old and it's a big decision. But c'mon you've had months to think this out. Not a good look to literally switch 3 times in 24 hours. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU
TXHoosierDaddy replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I would still like to see this guy consistently getting double digit boards with three or four blocks a game. Forget the offense. -

Anyone know what defensive unit he is coaching? I know the NCAA added another assistant position for football staff's so curiouus to understand what this guys role will be. -
Offer extended today. 5"10 DB from Florida. I'm assuming based on the offers he's more under the radar possibly based on his size. https://247sports.com/player/noah-pierre-46049609

IUBB vs Fort Wayne - 12/18 @ 8:00 E.T.
TXHoosierDaddy replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Where am I on record as saying the loss is unacceptable? By no means am I conveying this or making excuses. But I am also not saying we are doomed and we have zero chance at RL now that we have lost to ISU and IPFW. I am seeing a lot of that this morning and it is a very knee jerk reaction. This season is not going to go how everyone wants it to go. That's obvious but that doesn't mean the long term outlook still isn't positive. -

Exactly, perfect example. It's very typical of our fan base to think the absolute worst after a game like this. We know now it's going to be a very up and down year. Archie is not TC though. He brought in assistants that can recruit. However this season plays out I still think he can sell his vision and the program to get a guy like RL. -

I get that this loss looks bad and certainly can't help for a kid like Romeo to see. However, it's not like Vandy or KU are tearing it up. KU beat Nebraska by 1 point the other night and lost to Washington at home. Yes, I know there is no Fort Wayne or ISU spinkled in there. Vandy has 7 losses so far. I'm not aware of any other schools RL is seriously considering so let's pump the brakes on the fact that after last night we aren't getting 5 star kids. -

I get your point but i dont think it matters what system these guys are in. The bottom line is they can't shoot or score and that's not changing no matter who is coaching them. Blackmon, OG, Bryant were huge, huge losses. If we just had one of those guys it's a totally different season. Not one guy on the current roster has really stepped up to fill those roles although Morgan has really come on the last few games. -

Only guy I would honestly want to keep is Morgan and of courses the freshman. I still think Davis can be a respectable four year player too. The rest can kick rocks. -
Clearly would be best case scenario. However, watching the reply i have a hard time believing it's not worse. hope I am wrong.

Hate to speculate but just looked like Alonzo Trier tore his ACL on Arizona. His knee buckled bad and he had to be helped off the court. Would be a huge loss if true.

The refs just can't not blow the whistle over any type of contact. Pathetic. -

(2018) RB Markese Stepp to USC
TXHoosierDaddy replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Would be a great pickup but you have to like what we currently have at RB with Ellison and the freshman. I feel best about that position and WR coming into next year. -

Great I was hoping this one was in the bag. Sounds like it might be very soon! The timing certainly works in our favor. -
(2018) S Devon Matthews to IU

I usually go by offer list and his is pretty impressive. Offers from: S Florida, Miss St, Mizzou, Cinci, Illinois, Colo State. Really good get! -
With that said, I still think Mich St is the best team in the country. I know they lost to Duke but that was really early in the season. I like what I see most from them right now. The rest of the Big 10 though is mostly down. Biggest surprise: Ohio State - it's only two Big 10 games but my initial thought is Chris Holtmann is a really good coach. I think they have less talent than us this year due to all of the transfers/guys leaving under Thad.
-
Have you seen our seniors play this year? I would say without a drastic turnaround from those guys, the odds are looking slim.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

http://www.insidethehall.com/2010/10/12/baylor-in-hot-water-over-perea-recruitment/ Pretty shady stuff. It's amazing with all the attention on Baylor football that someone hasn't uncovered something big over there with Drew. He did get away with this one. -
Simmie Cobbs NFL Decision

He was a part of senior day with the team. Not a for sure sign he is gone but a pretty good one that he is. Plus, can't see him improving his stock much with what we have coming back. Just my opinion. -

Don't think that's how it is at all. Everyone is frustrated and that's understandable. At the same time, everyone also understands this isn't on Archie. It is just hte hand he was dealt. It will be a season of highs and lows. If folks don't have that expectation then they are clueless.
