Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

I've seen it mentioned we are looking into the JUCO route. I was able to pull up one tweet from Rabjohns. It mentions a few JUCO's though. Anyone know who else we are targeting? Thanks! -
They should make it regardless with how their non-con and SOS. Teams like Lville, Az St, Okie State (if they lose to KU) will be sweating it more.

One of my least favorite coaches. He acts like a clown on the sidelines most of the time. Hope they don't get in the tourney.

Missouri and Notre Dame are now two teams that no one will want to face in the NCAA tourney and likely a top seed (1 or 2) will have to play in the second round

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

If that lineup becomes reality it's gonna be another long year. Davis needs to come off the bench and would like to see a grad transfer in there for Smith/Green or Anderson/Hunter if we fail at Romeo. -

This is exactly what I have been saying. I wouldn't expect to really turn things around unless Archie can pull off a coup like this. -
If we want to be in the tourney next year we absolutely need a grad transfer, preferably a big but also potentially a SG if we miss out on Romeo. Otherwise, I think it will be a more entertaining year with the freshman/Smith/Race getting lots of action but still plenty of growing pains.

This was not a surprising outcome given how limited our roster is. To make a big run in the tourney we needed big performances from Juwan and Rojo. Rojo couldn't find a rythym all night and forced a lot of looks and Juwan struggled with being double teamed. Sorry but no matter who the coach is you can't win when you have the below issues: Shooters who don't shoot: McRoberts Shooters who just can't shoot: Newkirk, Durham, Hartmann Guards who turn the ball over more than run the offense efficiently: Green, Newkirk Also, Smith looked completely lost. It was amazing we were in that game. A lot had to do with how stupid Rutgers was with their fouls. Fouling Durham 4 times or so on shots that had no prayer of going in. Looking forward to a clean slate next year and still getting Romeo or some impact transfers to go with our freshman class.

He's coming off a torn achilles and likely won't be going full speed for at least another 6 months. For someone that struggles with conditioning and quickness I wouldn't expect a lot next year honestly. Best case scenario is getting Romeo and a grad transfer big imo. -

Beauchamp entering after 2. What happened to Herrin? Was this the plan or injury? -

Kaletha is putting up some real nice stats in the leadoff spot in the early stages. Very nice pickup! -
Sean Miller caught on phone

He will defend his buddies/idols to his grave. That includes Knight, Coach K, Cal, Boeheim, Pitino to name a few. It's crazy how on the telecast last night he was so strong in his view that Sean Miller should never coach again with just the allegation surfacing and then bats a blind eye to all the crap that has come out at Lville. Also, raves about the top three recruits coming to Duke with a straight face. His act is so predictable and tired. -

Dickie V is such a joke. He defends his friends that are coaches and can't fathom that schools like Duke, Lville, UK, Mich St., UNC could cheat. He still thinks Pitino is completely innocent. Literally rants about it all the time. -

KU was won plenty of biddding though. Most recently poaching Josh Jackson from Michigan St. Hopefully, the big payments come out similar to AZ. Also, Billy Preston who never played a game for KU due to issues around a car he was driving around campus in. -

Lemonis seems to have a really hard time starting off strong with his teams. I feel like every year he has been here we get smoked in the non-con and then find our way trying to climb up the standings in the BIG. This team is way too talented to not have at least a good non-con performance this year. We hardly have any top 20 teams on the schedule. We do have S. Alabama coming up which would be a good win as well as Coastal Carolina. Would take k-state today too. -
Corruption in College Basketball

Having a hard time seeing many BIG schools involved. Maybe Michigan? As for other schools - Baylor, AZ, AZ St, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Miami, Ga Tech, Bama, Auburn, A&M, KU (although blueboods are protected)...none of these would surprise me and some have already been named in previous report. -
Potential starting 5 for next year, does Juwan GoPro?
TXHoosierDaddy replied to tortex28's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah I agree. It is also pretty strange for a 20 year old to have an achilles injury. Usually that kind of injury happens further down the road. For Davis to get back to 100% or as close to that as possible it will likely be 9 months. That's full speed and doing everything. That puts the clock around October. That makes me think it's gonna be hard for him to have a productive year next season with his conditioning/quickness already being a negative factor. -

I don't see it that way. We clearly need shooters on this team. It's not like we are stockpiled with depth at any positions. If anything it means some of the guys we are seeing this year will get less minutes next year which is good. -

Two main problems with Creans' rosters: 1) Getting players that should never have been recruited to IU (Priller, April, Bawa) to name a few. Recruiting was just too inconsistent with attracting top talent. 2) Not compiling a balanced roster (no shooters, PG's, lack of bigs). No shooters in 2013 and then when Fischer transferred we didn't have any bigs. This year we have no scorers basically and are devoid of good ball-handlers and had no bigs outside of Davis. This is why we were so inconsistent year in and year out. There were only two rosters that seemed really well put together since his tenure. The 2012 team with Zeller, Oladipo, Sheehey, Yogi, Watford, Hulls and the 2015 roster with Yogi, Blackmon, Zeisloft, Bryant, Hartman, OG, Beidfeldt, Troy. Other than that, it was a mixed bag of all sorts of parts. -

It wasn't directed at anyone in particular and sorry it was taken that way. I guess my question is what could CAM be doing differently with the roster he has? Winning cures all but it seems pretty hard to win when you have guys missing layups, FT's, no one to run or initiate the offense, no one that can post up and get easy buckets outside of Morgan etc. I get the frustration as much as anyone. It sucks being in this spot. But to me, that's on Glass for keeping Crean too long. This was Crean's mo...a couple good years and then a bad year...a couple good years and then a stinker. These are his guys. I don't know what's so underwhelming about Archie considering the hires other schools got. Billy Donovan wasn't available unfortunately. -

Schootchie Smith too. And he got the transfer from Ohio State who was really good. Forgot his name. It's rare you see a coach bring in 4* and 5* talent to a program like Dayton. He had them in the tourney ever year. I doubt anyone was questioning the types of players he was bringing in.
