I think Smith was a pretty good coach and like mentioned had success previously to Schwarber/Travis. I have to think his style and recruiting are just not a good fit at ASU/Pac-12. It happens. If this trend continues no way he makes it past this season at ASU with the expectations on that program.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
TXHoosierDaddy replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Exactly. SEC has improved dramatically over the last season or two. No way Drew finishes ahead of Kentucky, Florida or Tenn. LSU also has a great recruiting class coming in plus some pieces coming back with a much better coach. Texas A&M could be there as well if they don't lose too much to the NBA. Auburn will be good again if they don't lose their coach. I think absolute best case scenario for Drew would be middle of the pack based on what I saw from him/his roster this year. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Most of the 'expert's' have said they actually have no idea where RL will go. His teammates at the Mcdonalds game clearly had no idea given the fact some said IU, KU and Vandy. Vandy was trending with RL around when Garland decided but I don't see anyone mentioning now that it's still Vandy outside of Dakich who is wrong plenty of times. -

I would be shocked if we don't land a grad transfer this year. The kid from Evansville and from Wake Forest come to mind immediately. -
Good hire for them simply because of the dumpster fire mess that is surrounding the program. I don't love Mack but the alternatives probably weren't better.

KU looks to have more shots to go around next year so maybe he sees this as the best opportunity to leave. A lot probably depends on his family situation. He could make a lot of $$$ in Europe with that jump shot. -

My guess is after this run KU has had Newman will declare. He's been wanting to test the waters in the past. I can't see him staying another year. I would also think Vick stays. -
He should be a first rounder! Who else in BIG can we expect to enter early? Thinking: Bridges and Jackson from Mich St. Wagner from Mich Saw something about Leron Black at Illinois That's about it right unless there is a surprise or two?

He has over 2 dozen teams interested in his sevices. It will definitely be tough competitiion. Have to think he's wanting to play for a winner in his last season. -

Crean took a nap too after Yogi left. Thinking Newkirk could come in and run the offense is puzzling to say the least. It's absolutely ridiculous that he basically had one legit PG in his 9 years at IU. -

They will probably push hard for the grad transfer route. Get two or three guys and hope to stay above water for a season until things die down (not sure what will happen there) and then pick back up with 2019 recruiting. Should be interesting to watch. -

We should go after this guy! Two years remaining and seems like a double double machine. Can play right away and would be sweet for AM to get him over BU. https://writingillini.com/2018/03/05/illinois-basketball-wyatt-walker-grad-transfer-option-illini/ -

That's the thing - we have no idea how good he is but we all know that we need one of him, Moore, Forrester to really step up. Have to have a little more than just Juwan inside both offensively and defensively. I don't think anyone is banking on Moore and I really just don't think Davis will be where he wants to be physically and that is worrisome. -

Anyone else see the last minute or two of Xavier/Fla St? Man I know Chris Mack can recruit and has done a good overall job with X but the coaching at the end was horrible. First, he has his team get overaggressive on defense and foul when there was not a need to. Then with less than 25 seconds left his guard dribbles the ball up the court with zero urgency and instead of setting Blueitt up for a shot, the big guy gets it at the top of the key and airballs a three. Just brutal to watch. The more I see some of these coaches in the tourney the less impressed I am. Adding Izzo and Skaka to that list after watching those games too. -

Give me Romeo and the kid from Evansville and that would be a hell of a class for Arch. -

After watching Shaka totally blow the Nevada game I'm completely skeptical of him as a HC. Had a great roster this year and totally wasted it. They were lucky to get in the tourney. -

What a embarassment from Auburn. They've been a fraud sine they lost their SF, Mclemore. -

Izzo pulled a Tom Crean as far as reading the Syracuse zone. So much more talent and couldn't figure it out all day. -

Disappointing to waste such a great effort from Stiever. This lineup is too good to only get 1 run. Sounds like there were some baserunning issues which better get cleaned up. This is a veteran squad so mistakes like that should be at a minimum. Hopefully, we can grab the next two from these guys! -
I have to think UConn is too big of a stage. Tom would do much better at a school that doesn't have lots of pressure to perform every year. His family is in Florida now so I could see him looking at Georgia once Mark Fox gets fired.
