Totally get that, however, it seems like recruiting is actually doing pretty well at the moment. What will take down recruiting eventually for CTA is if this team doesn't start winning football games, beat purdue now and again, and get to a bowl game. Therefore, you get the best OC available and one that hopefully has some experience. I just don't think Allen can afford to gamble on this one because if it turns out bad he will likely be on his way out. It sounds like momentum is gaining for Canada. He did a really good job at Maryland especially taking over after Durkin got put on admin leave. There is definitely more hope for IU Football then there has been in a long, long time if this rings true.

IUBB @ Michigan - 1/6/19 @ 4:30 ET

I agree with this take Moore still looks incredibly clumsy to me. I don't like either option. Rather see Forrester again if he can get healthy. -

Morgan is completely out of it right now -
Despite having the #23 recruiting class according to 247 sports, the 2016 class has been rather disappointing. Gelon - never should have had a schollie. Typical Crean. Davis - Unfortunate with the injury but has never been in the type of game shape to stay on the floor long enough to really contribute CuJo - Really only remember his first game against KU other than that was hardly memorable Green - Still way too inconsistent. Good Devonte one day and then bad Devonte the next McSwain - Improved a lot his senior year and really contributed but was pretty much a non-factor his junior year

(2019) WR David Bell to Purdue
TXHoosierDaddy replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Skilled players want to play for Purdue. They did a great job of showcasing Rondale Moore this year. We did no such thing with our talent the last two years with guys like Simmie Cobbs, Ian Thomas, Nick Westbrook, Donovan Hale, Reese Taylor. This is why this OC hire is so crucial. Have to get a good offensive mind in here because Allen cannot help in that regard. -
My way of measuring this is to see when he slows down his posts on Twitter.

IUBB vs. Illinois - Thurs., 1/3 @ 7:00

Anyone know why we aren't designing any plays for Fizner? Dude can shoot and that is a rarity on this team. Seems like Archie and Co. have completely phased him out for the most part. Also, Juwan should be touching the ball most times down the court. The offense works so much better when it goes through him. -

Green had about 4 easy shots there. Goodness. -

If we start the way we have been starting, the game at Michigan will be over early on Sunday. -

The NFL is certainly an extreme example. But even when I did some research for the NBA, most guys are returning within/around 2 weeks. I would think that alligns more closely since most of those guys probably have had minimal concussions before and are not pushing to go the following weeks game. -

Stevie Boy Wonder Fired at UCLA

His perfect fit was New Mexico. Should have stayed there. -
I would throw in Bobby Hurley as well. I think he can be had since ASU is not a destination job and he has really elevated that program since he has been there. Hoiberg seems doable but he seems like a Midwest guy to me. Musselman makes sense too but I wonder if he ends back up in the NBA.
-
Why not? I mean I'm sure a school like Penn St or Rutgers would love to have him. Ultimately though I see him ending up in a conference like the American or Mountain West. He did do well at New Mexico. It's very much like Crean in the fact that I believe he is good enough to keep a job a while if it is not a pressure cooker.

I really hope this one is an external hire since we just went internal for d-coordinator. If you are afraid to lose someone on staff then give them a raise. I do like Matt Canada. Major Applewhite is also available.

IU Football 2019 Recruiting Class
TXHoosierDaddy replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I will say as negative as I feel like I have been with the coaching, I never thought in a million years that Allen would bring in a top 35-40 recruiting class with 4 of the top 6 guys from Indiana. Just didn't see that happening in general at IU. He and his staff clearly have worked their butts off to convince kids to wear the crimson and cream even without the accoldates of being ranked/going to bowl games etc. Hopefully, this is the start of that. -
IU Football 2019 Recruiting Class
TXHoosierDaddy replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Yep, the talent has been elevated. Same needs to happen for the coaching. We should have been better than 5 wins this year. Coaching needs to improve or else some shakeups on the staff need to be made. -
IU Football 2019 Recruiting Class

I'm sure this one had to do with immediate PT. Louisville is a total mess right now. -
(2019) LB Cameron Williams to IU

This would be icing on the cake for a great class. Let's get this guy. Would love to have David Bell too but it may be too little too late there. -

Thought I saw something that Dorian Jones might be considering Louisville. He took a visit after he visited here in December. That is one to watch this morning as well. -

is the stud QB Jack Tuttle? Just commited after transferring from Utah. 4 star elite 11 kid out of high school for 2017. Looks like a huge get!!! https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2018/12/17/four-star-qb-jack-tuttle-picks-iu-football-after-utah-transfer/2336246002/ -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
TXHoosierDaddy replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
My guess would be more PT. I'm sure he could get that at a school like Colorado or Col St. if he wants to be closer to home. He's already worked so hard to get back from the injury can't see him hanging it up. -
Indiana vs Butler Game Thread 12/15
TXHoosierDaddy replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yep he has had a few wide open looks and just passed it up. It's going to kill us when Morgan isn't going off like this. I really wish we had a Zeisloft on this team. I guess it is Fizner but he disappears. -

Seems like a lot of times we play 3 on 5 on offense since at least two guys are non threats to score. It doesn't matter who coaches Butler they seem to always play harder than their opponent. So disappointing. -

I can't stand watching Smith. Seems to take plays off, doesn't have good hands, just kind of coasts on the court, can't finish....
