0% chance Fife is the next coach. If things crumble with the higher choices it will fall to Alford, everyone knows he won't be passing on the job.

1. It appears Donovan doesn't want it announced until after the thunder seasons ends. He is trying to avoid the circus it would bring if that was announced now. Also, the thunder would probably just tell him to get out now it it was annoucned (fine with us!) but that is what he is trying to avoid. 2. I like the comparison but that doesn't really apply. The amount of money and media involved are in a different universe. The saban to alabama scenario would probably be the best one to look at.

If we haven't heard by now there is no press conference today. Still think Donovan is our guy, but word will leak a lot louder and further in advance of his real press conference.

They couldn't even keep it secret that Crean was getting fired and we knew what day that decision was coming. Word of announcing a coach would be much harder to keep quiet. When it leaks it won't only leak to one single person, which appears it is one person who started this rumor.

Everyone settle down, the season ended 14 hours ago. The were always going to let Crean finish the season. Now they can hold their meetings since the season is finally over. Stop working each other into a panic about Glass based on other people panicking about Glass.

The story of Glass going rogue and holding a press conference to save Crean is a joke.

GT had some huge wins at home this year and weren't good on the road. We are a terrible road team. Glass knew what he was doing. Crean is gone.

1. Allowing him to coach the final game of the season is the gracious way to end the season. 2. Glass can't openly try and talk to coaches who are about to start the NCAA tourney. Both can search all they want, just not publicly. 3. It would be nice to stop the rumor mill. He could have done that any time in the last month by giving Crean a vote of confidence (if he was staying). He isn't staying so let him finish the season and then part ways. We are the ones creating the circus because Glass won't give us the immediate satisfaction we all want. I get it, I can't wait to take a deep breath once he is officially out. Just be patient, letting Crean finish the year/coach an additional 4 days changes nothing.

There is no benefit to firing Crean before the NIT so why would he do it? Crean has a ton of faults, but he seems to genuinely care for his players. Let the man finish out the season. That 4 days affects nothing. Glass can still negotiate with any option he wants too (all of those options are coaching at the moment too). Yes it would have made us all feel better, but that probably didn't factor to heavily into the decision.

I think they did it because Assembly Hall would have been half full at best and filled with boos. Glass was trying to avoid a toxic situation for this one game. Glass had to know forfeiting the home game would make him look like an @$$ hat. If he is willing to go to that extent to avoid the toxicity for one game, he isn't bringing Crean back for an entire year of it next season.

Crazy how so many people are calling for Glass's head and saying he is an idiot, when no announcement has been made. He isn't leaving the decision up to Crean, he has already reached out to other coaches. He isn't leaving the decision up to Crean, he would be torpedoing his own job. He isn't leaving the decision up to Crean because next year would be toxic and more importantly his boss won't let donors close their check books for an entire year. If Crean had an option of deciding to come back and make top 10 money or go to a football school and make maybe half that he would have already decided to stay. Glass hasn't publicly backed him for a very obvious reason. Settle down, Crean is gone.

Don't you guys see Glass sent us on the road to finish off the season... We have 2 road wins the entire year (penn st and osu who both suck). Glass sent us on the road to make sure Crean wouldn't win and he could finally bring down the axe.

haha stop. Crean asked for an extension after last year and Glass said no. Glass has purposefully said nothing. Every other time Glass was quick to voice his belief in Crean, now when he seat is 1,000 times hotter than it has ever been he says nothing (for a reason).

Crean loves his players, Glass is going to let him finish out the season. Relax, Crean is gone. Everyone is just nervous and we are working each other into a panic.
