Ya I’m delusional and hope we get blown out the next two games and everyone enters the transfer portal. Scott re-evaluates and tells mike it’s time to go then we get dusty or Bruce after they make a final 4. I don’t care if there’s not a chance of it happening since it’s the only hope I have for this program.

I hope Mike and his friends realize after next year Mike will be remembered as the horrible basketball coach instead of the great player he was. It’s going to get ugly. This feels like Gtown keeping Ewing an extra year when he was a dead man walking. I’m so sad. I’m 26 right now. Maybe we’ll be good when I’m 30.

We may not have had as much on court success the last 25 years as we deserve but I can 100% say no fanbase has as much fun with coaching searches as we do and for that I am thankful. Maybe we can start having fun on the court soon.

Is there anyone under 60 on the board or are we left hoping that these guys fire their friend?

Honestly if there's people transferring I feel like Gabe would be one of them lol. His dad's a coach and their high school team runs a better system than we do.

Micah Shrewsberry quietly has won 5 of 6 and they have a top 25 defense. They can't shoot at all though which is difficult for his offense. I'm curious to see what they'll look next year with another recruiting class and their young back court a year older. Pearl for 6 years handing it off to Shrews sounds good to me.

Dusty with a top assistant that knows defense is really appealing. He obviously can coach offense but I wish his defense didn’t fall so much this year. A lot of it could just be being undersized which would hopefully improve here. Archie had flaws with both his offensive and defensive system and he was way too stubborn about it. Hopefully dusty is flexible also and changes something when he sees it’s not working. It would hurt seeing him have a lot of success at OSU. I think most people would be at least decent recruiters here as long as they’re not weirdos and put the time in so I’m less concerned about that.

If we’re looking at just postseason success ya i guess so. Even though they were 19-14 last year still 29 overall on kenpom and 43 before. Idk he just feels like a guy that’s shown he can have some success in the best conference in America but would have some upside also especially as seeing his best team is this year. Lol didn’t realize the buyout though so i got intrigued for nothing.

His team this year is pretty great. If this offense is sustainable I like him more than most of the candidates since he’s shown he’ll have a top 10 defense every year. I think they’re in second place now in the best conference in America. He had a top 10 recruiting class at Iowa st last year also

I’m sure if Scott is planning on firing him he’s going through back channels gauging interest. I don’t like mikes coaching but firing him mid season would leave a bad taste in my mouth

Honestly much happier OSU is getting Sean miller than McDermott. McDermott would’ve had them scary with all their NIL. I can’t say I’ve watched much Xavier this year but they look pretty average.

I could get on board with May and Yaklich. Supposedly turned around Michigans defense. I know this is unfair to Walsh but i honestly don’t want anyone back from this staff. Woody kept Archie’s and we see how that turned out. Give me new everything.

Love McDermott. Should’ve gotten him instead of Woodson last time. He’d be 60 though if that’s an issue. They play good defense also.

I guess my view of the program is different than others because a guy that has had top 30 teams the last 3 years in the best conference in America would be enough for me. I don’t think we’re good enough to just go steal a top 10 coach in the country from someone else as much as I’d like us to.

This board would probably do a better job than Dolson if he thinks this year was a fluke

I saw someone throw out TJ otzelberger a while ago so i decided to look more into it and im intrigued and he feels gettable. He had top 30 kenpom teams his first two years at Iowa st but that was on the back of top 10 defenses. This year his offense has taken a big leap (kenpom 43) along with a top 5 defense and if that’s sustainable hes exactly what we need. Top 10 recruiting class at Iowa st last year. Only makes 2.5 million and is from Milwaukee. He’s leading the best conference in America this year.

Is Mike’s solution to all of this really just work harder? Sounds like a guy with zero idea on how to actually turn this around

I think for me whatever new coach we get better be flexible. It has been infuriating watching Woody and Archie before that be so rigid to their systems. I get big in season changes are difficult but we have played the same ugly style of basketball for the last 6 years now. If you see something isn't working do something to fix it. Scott drew changed his entire defensive scheme from zone to their aggressive man to man and they won a title after. I want things like that. Give me an innovator. Up to dolson to find that if he actually cares about us being great again.

Their defense has taken a big step back (99 on kenpom now). I just know our fanbase and if we had a final four team that returned 14 out of 15 people and did not get much better there would be questions. I like Dusty don't get me wrong but I think having concerns is valid. He is not a slam dunk when we need one after all the losing. In all likelihood he is probably the best we can get and I could see him succeeding but it's not the given a lot of people want to make it out to be.

Honestly my hope is Woodson goes the Roy Williams route. Roy was an infinitely better coach than woody but his last season he realized he wasn’t the best man for the job and stepped down. That’s a guy that truly loves his school. You still see him at the games. Obviously i can’t tell someone to not take the money but giving woody 6 million makes everyone happy and he can go to games and represent the program that way.

Idk FAU needs to stop losing. I understand the hesitance. We’ve gotten this wrong so many times. In all reality he’s only had one great year.
