For young, healthy joints, no as long as you aren’t doing markedly heavy weight. Judging by his rep rhythm the weight wasn’t overly intense which is why he was able to pause and squeeze at the top of each rep. I can see that. Personally I think he’s just being cautious (and probably a bit nervous given the fresh circumstances) in front of the media and wants to make sure he says the right things. I feel like he’s probably much more personable when the cameras are off. Hearing some clips of his coaching he seems to know how to connect to guys. And despite a lot of what we hear, I think a good portion of parents out there are wary of the recruiting wolves. Woodson could be a really nice change of pace for some players and their parents. Nothing insider-ey and he makes the effort to place that disclaimer. He is hearing Rosemond as well, which he puts a + on as a guy who “gets **** done” and “gets guys”. One part I found interesting is he says a former IU player went out of his way to contact other potential HC candidates and encouraged them to avoid the IU job so as to make the push for Woodson easier. I didn’t mean to imply he would be unsuccessful. More just, what about that system is more appealing at the moment considering he just left the generic version of it. But maybe he liked it and just wants a more proficient version of it. That and maybe he’s an outlier if this small sample size who just doesn’t connect with CMW as well as the others have. Don’t most players focus on improving their offensive potential when looking to transfer? I won’t pretend to know anything about UVA’s upcoming roster outlook, but if that’s a focus for him it seems like a lateral move based purely on the systems aspect.
