The dichotomy here is fascinating. lol If you’re like me the first post was likely when it felt like a Levis pick was inevitable. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

This post is not panicky enough and has undertones of positivity and player development. I’m afraid you’re in the wrong thread. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

For me there wasn’t. But that’s just my opinion. I just never felt he had the mentality required. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I literally sat and laughed while watching this. I don’t mind Colin but that is astoundingly horrendous. There was never, EVER a time when Ben Simmons was close to looking, feeling, or being like one of those “guys”. Whew. The only similarity he has with Magic and MJ now is the current minutes per game. Just Sunday-night-bored scrolling and I’ll just say the notion of a 63 year old long-time NBA guy coming to coach his extremely restless alma mater as a first-time college coach is a display of stones, plain and simple. The notion that he should have walked into that situation and: -told two players to stay and the rest to walk -then recruited the rest of his talent from a newly born transfer portal -while concomitantly dealing with the wild Wild West of the NIL -after never having recruited high schoolers to begin with is ridiculous and really easy to postulate in hindsight. Even in hindsight it’s still ridiculous because I, everyone’s brother, and everyone’s brother’s girlfriends know Woody’s head would be on the public chopping block heading into year 3. Instead, he made progress in years one AND two. As much as we’d all love the success of this program to be a linear rise, it won’t be. Most things in life aren’t. The outlook of this team being a bottom dweller because we missed some portal kids also falls in the aforementioned ‘ridiculous’ category. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Being better than the seasons before him. Realistically that’s where the goals of the program needed to be. If the point of this was to undermine the work of his first two seasons by getting someone to admit we did not compete for a final four, title, etc then your expectations may have been unrealistic and Cinderella-ish. Maybe we can start a separate thread for the doom and gloom discussion. I commend you gentlemen on prioritizing your health. I’m an inpatient healthcare provider and see a lot of the opposite of you - the people who have spent as many years treating their bodies and their minds like the piss ditch at burning man. At 37 I’ve unfortunately hit my first real wall in the training realm. I have been a 4-5 day/week weight training + high intensity cardio/metabolic work guy since 18. Part of it is just due to the evolution of the family man role. So be it. Still got it done at 6am when wife and sons came into the picture. Fast forward to a significant loss and poor coping skills and it’s coming up on 16 months since I last trained. Mental blocks are for real. Keep up the good work, Hoosier brethren. 2024 (F) Kanon Catchings and Whatever
HinnyHoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I saw some twitterings regarding someone who says he knows Kanon's HS coach, texted him about the current state of the commitment, and supposedly received a reply from coach stating Catchings is not going to re-open the recruitment. Whatever that means. At this point I don't really care. Come if you want. Go be a Toiletmaker if you want. Plenty of fish in the sea. -
I agree. He seems to be one of those guys that has a knack for finding himself in the right space at the right time near the basket. Obviously had some freshman growing pains, but the potential and the length are very much there. Looking forward to his development. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Dang it. I had forgotten that. It rings a bell now that its been pointed out. I hadn’t really kept tabs on him since the very first time I’d heard of him. Thanks fellas, corrected. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
2024 (F) Kanon Catchings and Whatever
HinnyHoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Don’t misunderstand me. I said, and do believe, young Mr. Catchings has work to do above the shoulders. Even more so note that he may be reclassifying. That’s just where he stands right now for me based on a VERY small sample size. Odds are he’ll grow and mature into the mentality required of a focused and resilient ball player, especially with Tamika being his aunt. I don’t know as much about his mother but with two professional ball players behind him it’s likely to be an effective guide. I didn’t mean to imply he is uncoachable or a poor teammate or anything to that degree. It’s just noticeable when the star of a team is quick to have poor body language and is visibly frustrated after a couple bad beats in the biggest game of the season. I’d sum it up to composure. Being a dog and staying a dog regardless of the flow of the game. If he wants to be IU-bound, that would be incredible and I wouldn’t turn him away. Heck, maybe that’s even a good sign of maturity in action! I’ll tell you this: I believe Woody would get more out of the kid than Painter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

2024 General Recruiting Thread (BBall)

I’ll post it here, too. Who knows. But if the IG changes are real then….? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Rumors at this point for sure. But with any rumor, you have to ask why it exists. Haven’t checked his IG because I don’t IG like the young go-hards, so someone feel free to confirm. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
