I’d like to see NCAA basketball go to the same rules as baseball. You can go straight to the NBA after high school or you’re going to college for 3 years. The game may have changed permanently but I for one am sick of all the one and done stuff. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Anyone who could even begin to lay blame at coaching honestly ask yourself this question.....”If Archie took Dayton into the Breslin Center tonight, what’s the score?” My answer....Michigan State wins by 10. The fact IU lost by 28 (my prediction to my buddy who is a huge Sparty fan was 25) wasn’t coaching. The mix of “talent” we have isn’t good together. We lack size (even before Davis and Morgan went down) shooting, and basketball IQ, just a bad “team”. Add in a floor general with high IQ, a mean big who consistently gets big boy rebounds, and a scorer who can create on his own and maybe the rest of our players nicely fill out this team and make it good. As my sons GC freshman game was at 6, was hoping to get to watch Gillis. Instead the wife wanted dinner. So the scouting report is coming from a 15 yr old freshman point guard....in addition to the 26/15 stat line had a couple blocks and steals. GC has some size but not much athleticism so he should have dominated there and he did so it appears. Son said he had him at 8 of 9 shooting in first half, with a 3 and a nice mid range turn around jumper. Has a good developed body (listed at 6’7 220) and good length and was able to guard our guards. Butler coaches were in attendance to watch allegedly - not sure my son actually saw them or if that’s just what he was told, so I don’t want to report incorrectly. After struggling in the exhibition season with their identity, Orlando in L 34 stomped its opening opponent by 33 last night. Coach realized he has some horses and has turned them loose. Just clapping and cheering for them to go faster! [emoji38] Took another L in 31 on a last second 3 pointer. 5th straight L on a team that is much better than its playing. Ft Myers starters are +27/-2. 4 excellent shooters, lots of good abilities, the only thing less than fair is the SG intelligent is poor. Makes no sense to be 3-7 overall and 1-5 in conference. In L31 it’s going to be a total rebuild, have 3 decent seniors but the rest of the cupboard is bare and the coach I took over for screwed up recruiting this year by going big on guys that have no interest in playing in Ft. Myers. I’m going to have to try and salvage something out of nothing in this seasons recruiting class but it’s going to take a couple years I think. Have a better team in L34 but think I may have screwed up on my first real week of recruiting, not paying close enough attention to the conference the player was in vs the region. Struggling with the style of play choices and how that affects your results. I find myself wanting to fast forward these seasons (much like IU’s) and get on with recruiting and improve the team. With as little as we’ve seen this year of Smith with his length and scoring ability, just curious why you think Hunter would be slotted into starting at shooting guard?
