IU at Nebraska Game Thread 1/18 7 PM BTN
Fil_Dunfie replied to Hoosier Guy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He grimaced like he had a hernia when he sat down and held his groin, but since he gets treatment, that's probably not the injury. -
IUBB vs Rutgers Game Thread 1/15 7 pm BTN
Fil_Dunfie replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
They aren't consistently atrocious, but some of the calls are astoundingly wrong. They guess too much or call things they don't see. I understand getting calls wrong when there are a mass of bodies involved, but they blow them when there is a clear sight line to the 2 players involved. But I feel your pain. -
IUBB vs Rutgers Game Thread 1/15 7 pm BTN

Loose dribbling, loose passing, confused when tightly guarded, didn't back-door when overplayed, slow ball movement to get open jumpers in the corner. Lack of consistency from game to game is amazing. -

Sam is working his way back to full health. http://www.thesunchronicle.com/vip/sports/local_sports/first-things-first-for-sox-prospect-sam-travis/article_44b5884b-cdf8-54bb-b110-83a4fa596b72.html -
You just described Rick Barnes to a T. Be careful what you wish for.

IU @ Maryland Official Game Thread 9PM ET on ESPN
Fil_Dunfie replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
When you lose to Maryland, you have to figure Trimble is going to drag them to the win. But he had a bad 2nd half. Go figure. The kid Huerter can really shoot it. Cowan and him were big. -
Holtmann's in game decisions and creating favorable offensive and defensive matchups make him stand out to me. In a more favorable recruiting situation, I think he would be an excellent choice.

You'll be back. All the socks are red. -
Speaking of old (not as old as '66 OF though), I grew up in North Jersey and was an Army fan when Knight was the coach and Krzyzewski was the star. They were on TV quite a bit and my friends brother played football for them so it was natural to follow them. I couldn't believe how Knight got so much out of his team ... the discipline, toughness, and grit is what stood out and made them successful. When BK moved to Indiana my fandom had no choice but to move along with him. Then during the 70s my friend's old college roomie was BK's assistant and I got to hear a lot of what was happening behind closed doors which at times was absolutely crazy while at the same time so honorable and dedicated to his current and ex-players vis-a-vis Landon Turner. There have been many great moments and some big disappointments but this is IU and I have no choice but to believe eventually things will return to what it meant to be an IU fan in the days of Branch McCracken and Robert Montgomery Knight.

Two things I took away from 4 B1G games today ... (1) Calhoun is the most annoying color man in college hoops. He made a bad game worse with his incessant drivel, much of which I couldn't understand since he was babbling at 85 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. (2) Izzo has to be one of the best grinders ever. Smart move going away from Ward in the OT since he couldn't make a foul shot even though he almost single handedly brought them back into the game.

Actually it would be one of the most unusual and coolest double play combinations of all time ... 1-3-9

What if he busted up an ankle or knee each time? It's not sexual assault or robbery, right? Knees and ankles heal, you know.

In other words ... "Thank God Krzyzewski did something because we would never have had the kahunas to offend the Dukies."

I loved seeing Allen going berserk on the bench. I assume it was because he got caught, not because he realized he was a flaming piece of poop and was sorry. It's no longer an internal Duke matter that adenoids K can deal with and tell everybody its not for public consumption. The ACC has to so something. Allen reminds me of Luis Suarez of Barcelona ... he's bitten 3 different players.

I watched most of the game. ND had one kid who was a hack and Jok was a target of a few guys. One of them got Jok in his jingle bells although they didn't show the replay even though they commented about him getting whacked. I think I heard McCaffrey apologized this morning. It's no big deal.

With all his phoney crap, he should be a soccer player in Brazil. His tripping act would go over well there also.

Most of the players decided to boycott without knowing what the university's report said. I'm shocked that they made an uninformed decision.

I'd also recommend Firstrow Sports and cricfree. Just google them for this week's url. In addition to adblock I'd also suggest using noscript and allow only one script at a time until the stream starts to play.

Sam Travis - Boston Red Sox Org
Fil_Dunfie replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in IUHoosier Baseballers in the Pros
The future looks bright and not too far away for Sammy. Some scout saying he is the next Goldschmidt may be somewhat rash at this point in time, though. -
Welcome to the end of the fall semester. Sophs getting limited playing time get frustrated and throw in the towel.

Foster Farms Bowl Pregame Thread

Shouldn't be an issue drawing against the Duckeyes no matter what day of the week. -
Femi Hollinger-Janzen - Birmingham Legion FC
Fil_Dunfie replied to ccgeneral's topic in IUHoosier Soccerballers in the Pros
He should have a better chance at playing time with them rather than Atlanta based on the philosophies they have both exhibited so far. Atlanta is splashing the cash on guys Martino is familiar with from S. Amer. -
Femi Hollinger-Janzen - Birmingham Legion FC
Fil_Dunfie replied to ccgeneral's topic in IUHoosier Soccerballers in the Pros
Femi has been left unprotected by the Revs for tomorrow's expansion draft. There is no question that he is talented enough to play consistently in this league after watching him this past year.. -
IU Baseball Offseason Updates

Nor did he make any partial errors last season. -
Rick Barnes - great recruiter, has never improved as a coach since his first game at George Mason.
