I just don't think the players are being treated well. The staff likes to play head games, doesnt develop talent well, and wastes the eligibility of talented players (elbert) and one or two players are "chosen" by moren and are put on a pedestal, while the others are essentially turned against each other to fight over bench minutes. It's always all love at the beginning of the season and by the end of the season people are pushed to their mental limits. I just don't think it's worth it in the end to these kids..they like the gear and the travel and free school but to deal with all the bs and still be mediocre at the end of the day.. There has been too much talent leaving this program and the staff's answer is always simply that they weren't good enough.. not true. Tia, Ria, Danielle, and laken (all moren recruits) all quit the team at the beginning of the summer along with foresman (miller) but they convinced the girls to announce one at a time so it wouldn't look like what it was--a SECOND mass exodus under CTM. If you look at what happened at Loyola Chicago with sheryl swoopes you will understand what is happening at iu. Well I can't say for sure, I didn't have it happen on here, it was when I was clicking links to stories and such on Facebook I would sometimes get redirected to spam and I fixed it in my settings by clearing out something in my phones memory..probably the cache. We would be top of the B1G every year and go to the tourney..but it just wasn't in the cards for us. I heard fred offered about 6 people ahead of CTM. I know of 4 for certain. He should have appointed an interim until the end of the season and he would have had a bigger pool of good candidates..takes a special kind of person to leave their team in the airport to go coach another about a week before season. We are getting plenty of quality talent, it's just not staying. That to me is a coaching problem. Elbert was a great get for moren and she sat the bench completely un-utilized. She may be headed to Fresno state..closer to home? Jess walter and larryn brooks are putting up like 20 points per game on their new teams and maura muenstermann is starting and averaging 10 ppg on a better team than iu with a harder schedule. This is only semi off topic, but i feel like vandy is def involved in something shady. Vandy almost picked up jaquan lyle when he left Ohio st. He was telling people it was likely he was going there..he always seems to be attached to shady programs..And has an IQ of about 75..how would he be able to go to a school like vandy?? Didn't watch the game because I was at another game, but reading the final stats I noticed a few things: Moren is always preaching defense, defense, defense. And we gave up almost 90 points today. We can't assume that we are gonna score more than that each game. Need to tighten up the defense. Buss was our leading scorer, no surprise here, but somehow she shot more baskets than she had points..not good especially when only 3 of them were from behind the arc Also, our FT shooting woes continue. And finally, I think we are getting too lenient officiating in assembly because on the road we always get in some moderate to major foul trouble. Not an easy schedule by any means but calling it "extremely tough" is a stretch. Only 2 true road games in noncon. Every tough team we play is either in assembly or on a neutral court. Louisville, mizzou, wku, virginia and auburn are the only teams we play with decent rpi. This schedule was designed for a specific purpose.
