Well either we're going to be mediocre under Crean or be mediocre with a possibility of something great happening under a different coach. That's the risk you have to take at some point.
-
So one season should be why we keep him? Notv the other 7 that have shown he can't build a consistent winner? He couldn't do it at Marquette and he can't do it here. You have to look at v the body of work and his isn't good enough. It isn't even close.

Crean has showed where a once in a lifetime talent can take you.

Quality Young Coaches vs Tom Crean.

Come tourney time every one slows down. Throughout the year teams will play as fast as they can.. and then slow it down in tourney time. It is weird. Same way in the NBA. Pace is much slower. Makes you have very little margin for error. -
None of the reporters have the balls to ask anything with meaning.

mdn82... PM me. I'm apparently not allowed to use it.

I'm not holding my breath. I was done with him after the 13-14 season. He has more than well proven he can't adjust to a roster. We've had multiple disappointing seasons. 10-11, 13-14 and 14-15. The bad outweighs the good. And it isn't close.

That's ok. Because they were tied with us in conference. :D

she scored 52 today. She scored 60 against Northwestern two weeks ago. Ridiculous.

Things happen. Especially in the tourney. I shouldn't have said Hartman is needed. He is. But not in the starting lineup if we have a better piece. UK's problem last year was Cal being loyal. He was very loyal to the twins. I'd say he learned from that.
-
I wouldn't call RJ a Hartman. He does force things. That's why he turns it over like he does. It is like an epidemic on our team. Too often Yogi, Troy, RJ and JBJ tried forcing things. Same can be said with Bryant. I really don't know how Hartman turns it over as much as he does. Or turns it over at all. He really never needs to dribble.
-
I don't WANT to start Williams. But there is more of a reason to start him over Hartman if need be. If Bryant leaves and Williams comes back then we have DD, Williams and OG. If Bryant and Williams come back then we could have Bryant, DD and Williams. With Juwan, OG and Hartman off the bench.
-
Watford was one of my favorite players. Not just because of the shot to beat UK... dude was money from the wing.
-
That may be an awkward situation... Troy needs about 10 more years in college to learn not to force things and maybe get a jumpshot... but mama might say college is the debil and he is good enough to go pro. And mama is always right.
-
Well it does help to have a coach. Even with what people think of Crean.. he's a heck of a lot better than what UNLV has had coaching wise this year. Rice has had a crap ton of talent and did little with it. Except beat us. But I think Crean is still a better coach. Maui was just a joke.

No. Wasn't the point of that post.

I don't think Hartman is truly needed on the floor. He almost cancels himself out at times. He doesn't score much. He'll spot when open. He hustles as much as his athleticism will allow him. He turns the ball over quite often for not really handling the ball. He's not a good defender but that deals more with his athleticism. He knows what to do on defense.. but he doesn't have the athleticism or length to do it exact. It'd be nice if we could join Hartman and Williams together... that'd really help.
-
You can win a lot in CBB just off talent alone. But we'll have a crunch with guards. RJ, JBJ, Jones are all SG's that can play the 2-3 spot. Jones isn't going to play PG. Obviously JBJ wont because he won't pass. RJ is a turnover machine. So start RJ or JBJ? Can't start both. We've seen how bad that is. For Hartman.. we'll have DD, OG, Morgan and possibly Williams all fighting for the 3 or 4 spot...
-
They aren't traditional. But why would we start Hartman over Davis? Hartman isn't talented enough to go ahead and sharpie his name into the lineup. Honestly when it comes to next year... Bryant and Williams are the only two.. if they come back.
-
If Crean is still around... it'd be interesting to see if he can actually adjust to a roster for once.
-
Just some good 4's out there.
-
And teams are playing Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Jalen Brown, Caleb Swanigan, Deyonta Davis, Robert Carter, Perry Ellis... and so on.
-
I'd check around on some rosters if I were you before saying that. There are teams with very good 4's where Hartman would be coming off the bench. There is nothing wrong with coming off the bench. And the turnovers thing isn't true. He actually has a to% of about 20%.
-
if Bryant doesn't come back then start Hartman. If not then start the big guys. DD isn't coming to Indiana to play behind anyone. Especially Collin Hartman. I doubt Crean got him to Indiana by saying he'll be coming off the bench. Davis was our "big get" in recruiting. Do you really think Collin Hartman will keep him from starting? It'd be a different story if it were a more talented 4 like Christian Watford IMO.
