A Final Analysis on the 2015-16 Hoosiers
X-Hoosier replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If you're a lottery pick for sure then you should leave. The fact Zeller didn't leave after his freshman year was a surprise because he was a lock in the lottery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -
If the basketball players are getting paid would the football, women's bb, baseball, softball, men's and women's soccer, water Polo, track field, and any other athletes have to be paid as well? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

A Final Analysis on the 2015-16 Hoosiers
X-Hoosier replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It was a good year. Probably Crean's 3rd best. His best was obviously 12-13. 11-12 was a better team as well. But both years we had a possible lottery pick and one of the 10 or 15 best players in Indiana history.. Cody Zeller. The beginning sucked.. we were garbage. But the rest was good except the PSU and UM game. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -
The NBA is a professional league and they saw it fit to put an age limit and experience limit before a player enters. How many professions can you graduate from HS and a month later be a professional getting paid millions of dollars? If you want to blame anyone for "ruining CBB" then blame the HS and AAU system for not getting players ready for the collegiate level. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Would Ivy League schools like Harvard and Yale rule sports? They could put a ton of money towards sports if they wanted to. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

If the MH had to fund everything themselves they wouldn't exist. Athletic programs around the country are ran on the money that football and basketball make. That is if they actually make profit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Ingram and Simmons will go 1 and 2 in some order. Probably followed by Kris Dunn, Dragan Bender, Jamal Murray... whoever else. This is a top heavy class by far. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

The basketball system would basically need to be recreated from CBB down. The NBA would eventually gain some sort of control over the "college game." They wouldn't want a minor league with such different rules. The HS and AAU systems are just terrible anymore. Kids move to different schools every year and AAU basketball is just garbage and doesn't teach anything except to shoot a lot. There would have to be a massive revolution that some old people would truly hate. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

If we gave it a free market without a cap... to just throw money at recruits... I think Harvard could rule the world. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

So like a league with teams sponsored by the schools? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

I think if we were going to pay players.. then what a player is paid is set by their recruiting ranking. And every school in D-1 has the same salary cap. So obviously smaller schools will use much less. Making it to where have to think hard on how they recruit the big guns and the less heralded guys. That is CBB now. It is isn't the 70's or 80' or 90's. Kids now want to go to the NBA. Why shouldn't they? Why should a college coach be trying to keep kids from going and playing with the best in the world? Cal recruits kids by telling them they're going to the NBA quick. Tyler Ulis told Cal he wanted to be at UK for 4 years. Cal told him he wouldn't recruit him if that was the case. I find that ok. He wants to see kids succeed at the next level. Isn't that what college is about? Working to be a professional? And the NBA says you have to be one year removed from HS. If you think "being a Hoosier" means to recruit 4 year players only then that is your opinion. Honestly that obviously hasn't worked in 30 years so it seems something needs to change. If we have another year like 13-14 or 14-15 then he needs to be kicked to the curb. End of story. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Whoever takes the Pitt job is accepting mediocrity.

They aren't worries about that. Not with the rise in international talent and seniors coming out each year.

They invite about 60 every year. They won't raise it. If someone doesn't want to participate then they add someone. But those not participating are normally locks in the lottery.
