(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
X-Hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
There isn't an argument. If you want to go pro quick you go to Kentucky. They have the success rate. Or now Duke. But I don't see Wilkes going to Duke... Scruggs on the other hand... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -
He'll have to prove something this year. Consistency is key. We have another year like 13-14 or 14-15... time for da boot. I don't even want to have a year like last year. I'd like to be more competitive with the top teams. The 3 best teams we played were Duke, Michigan State and North Carolina... we lost by 20, 19 and 15. I think all fans would like to see a better start as well. And we have early games against Kansas and Louisville. Personally I don't see us winning either. Which I am ok with as long as they aren't blowouts. Still a lot to prove for Crean. And he better be bringing in a heck of a 2017 class. Missing on 17' class would be a big fail. (2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA

There really is no argument you can use to say that Wilkes should go to Indiana over Kentucky if he wants to go to the NBA. Since 2013 Just cut off the list before Noel. 8 players since 2013. But you also have to think of the quality. Crean has sent 2 Top 15 players and Vic who was Top 150. But what about the players for Crean that didn't pan out? Like Hollowell and Perea? What about Troy Williams? Or Yogi? None of them are thought of as NBA players really yet were Top 50 recruits. -

What exactly is your point? To even try and compare Indiana and Kentucky sending players to the NBA is silly. Considering Cal has had John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Daniel Orton, Brandon Knight, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, Marquis Teague, Nerlens Noel, Archie Goodwin, Julius Randle, James Young, Karl Anthony-Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles and Devin Booker. Those are the 1st round picks. This year Murray, Skal and Ulis will go first round and all 3 will go top 20. If you're a top recruit and your goal is to get into the NBA... you go to Kentucky. Whether you're planning to go for 1 or 2 years. You don't go to Indiana. You really don't go to anyone in the Big Ten. Nowadays.. it is Kentucky or Duke. Sure Wilkes might come to Indiana. But I doubt Crean's pitch is getting him into the NBA after 1 year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -
That'd be nice to see. I'd rather see them play Hill at the 2. Maybe trade up in the draft. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Because recruiting kids so young always helps right? When Kentucky offers they'll be the frontrunner. They might be the frontrunner now without offering. I doubt Wilkes wants to hear "come get your degree." He wants to hear "you're going to the NBA after a year." That is what Cal wants. That's what top recruits wants. And I wouldn't blame Wilkes for going there if he wants to go to the NBA. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -

As far as I know they are. Calipari went and watched him just a few days ago. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app -
Gotta get players in the draft. Two best players on the team were picked in the draft. Paul George and Myles Turner. This year they're going to have a pick in the 20's but with that pick you can get some good players. Just have to be smart with that pick. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Yes. They're shooting real well right now. And I love it. But can't sleep on Charlotte. They were a Top 10 offensive and defensive team. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

I didn't say they were winning but Jeremy averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds. And that's good. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Well... in a small technicality.. Priller doesn't really play for Indiana either. I wouldn't call any recruit a mistake. Some just don't turn out. Doesn't mean they aren't good players or didn't have the potential to be good. Hollowell had loads of potential and looked good his freshman year. IMO he was greatly misused. Crean wanted another Watford but that wasn't Hollowell. There was also ZERO leadership to be found anywhere in the program. Coaches or players. I wouldn't consider Stan a mistake. Kid was a tough nosed defender but couldn't shoot. Was Luke Fischer a mistake? Hollowell and Stan at least stayed 2 seasons. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Ron Hunter has Hollowell. Seems to be doing well with him. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

He's got Houston on the rise and there is room in an AAC conference with space and potential. Good offensive coach. Though his choice of timeouts never made sense to me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

Good choice. Sure Sampson cheated. But now that stuff is legal. And Sampson is a good coach. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app

You can fulfill your man crush here..... he just hit another 3. He is ten 3's away from breaking the most 3's in a season record... set by him last year. He's on pace to hit about 400 3's.

I hope Memphis can be good again. The AAC has potential to be a pretty decent conference. UConn, Memphis and Cincy. Temple is a storied program. Houston seems to be on its way up with Sampson as coach. SMU I think will go back to poop once Larry Brown is gone unless they make a splash. But the Top 3 in that league HAS to be UConn, Memphis or Cincy or the conference is doomed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app
