I hope my Browns take him with the 1st pick tonight. He can learn from the best left tack technician as Joe Thomas' understudy. -
(2017) RB Weston Bridges to MSU
Berghoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
He visited MSU, but they already have 2 RB's for 2017 (including Bridges) and haven't offered Bowden. It is a fight to hold onto every recruit that pledges early. I'll be worried if they or OSU extend an offer. -
(2017) RB Weston Bridges to MSU
Berghoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I really like Bridges, think he is a great all around balanced RB, but not losing sleep over this one with Enis, Gest and Bowden all in the fold. -
I typically attend 2 or 3 Gladiators games a year. They are a lot of fun and Taylor is a stud in the AFL. He is fairly popular here after the gladiators ran the table in the regular season and ended up losing in the Arena Bowl, he was a catalyst on that team that really captured the attention of football fans in NEOH.

The Camion Patrick news is not promising. Wilson mentioned "ACL" a few times during his media availability this morning but unsure the degree of the "tear". Whenever I hear tear and ACL in the same breath, I fear for the worst. -

Script Indiana would look great! I don't have any problems with the design as is though. Replacing the turf is overdue. It look's really worn and spread fairly thin, so to speak.

We are DEEP at RB and WR. -
Feels weird not wanting to change the channel as soon as Hoge speaks.

I agree that the offense is operating at it's peak performance when we have a QB who can make those type of throws consistently, but I think that the offense can still be run very effectively without making those throws, so long as the QB makes timely and accurate throws in the short to intermediate game. -

Am I missing something? Cameron had 1 balled tipped in this clip, as did Lagow. In our scheme you just need to understand the reads and be able to throw an accurate and catchable ball in order to be successful (i.e. Cam Coffman) don't need a huge arm. I think it is a little early to push the panic button on any of these guys. -

I'm excited to see what Camion Patrick brings to the table with the ball in his hands. I'm going to do my best not to get too nervous about the QB play yet. Lagow should be able to take some big steps this summer in player ran sessions after learning the offense in the spring. -
(2017) WR Joshua Johnson to Iowa State
Berghoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
This is why CKW and crew don't typically like to rely on early commitments. Iowa State is a bit curious, I was expecting him to leave for somewhere down south, but Matt Campbell is a good young coach, hes an energetic recruiter and runs an offense similar to ours, although he has not proven it in a P5 conference yet, apparently he got Johnson to buy in. I'm never happy about losing a recruit, but with our depth at WR this doesn't concern me all too much. -
I don't know how recent this is or if it has already been discussed, but I was on the website and noticed that they updated the titles of most of the assistants. I don't think there is too much to make of any of this, just interesting to see. Tom Allen- Associate Head Coach/Defense Greg Frey- Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Mark Hagen- Assistant Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line William Inge- Linebackers/Special Teams Coordinator - Coverage Units Deland McCulough- Running Backs/Special Teams Coordinator - Return Units All other assistants have their same titles. I think the titles for Frey and Allen are mostly posturing and product of contract negotiations. Kind of funny that Hagen is assistant defensive coordinator even though technically we don't have a defensive coordinator, we have an "associate head coach of defense" Definitely an interesting approach to the special teams unit. I know a lot of teams do this, where coaches are responsible for individual units, but have never seen actual titles given to specify. http://iuhoosiers.com/staff.aspx

He clearly is the defensive coordinator, but it is strange that the official title seems to be deliberately avoiding calling him that. I apologize for pointing out something that I thought is interesting and totally inconsequential. :umbrage:

Click the link. No where on the official website is coordinator attached to Allen's title.

(2017) RB Weston Bridges to MSU
Berghoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Living in the Akron area for the vast majority of my life I can tell you that the high school football community here is a tight knit crew and the work IU did landing Jonah Morris was well received by all the prospects and coaches in the area. Should bode well in the long run and seems to be paying off already with Bridges. -

Did Inge post this pic? because the skin tone and build looks more like Coach DMC to me. Could be wrong.
