There is something off with this team and the turnovers/missed free throws are evident of that. Painful to watch. And, of course, UNLV makes a couple threes from 30 feet....

Would You Be Satisfied If...
Sota Hoosier replied to BburgHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Yes. As others have mentioned, this would mean we would get over the hump and racking up some Big Ten wins against the conference elites. And of course consistent bowl appearances will help recruiting and fan buy-in. Nothing would be greater than watching IU home games with the whole stadium packed and rockin'. That is what winning and bowl appearances on a consistent basis would bring. -
IU vs St. John's Post Game Thread
Sota Hoosier replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We had a very rigid team last year that had little margin of error. This team has more talent, more experience, and more versatility than last year's team. My post doesn't imply whatsoever that last year's performance is satisfactory for the 15-16 squad. I'm simply saying that we are a highly-talented team that has glaring issues BUT we have the talent and experience to overcome them over the next few months. -
IU vs St. John's Post Game Thread

Its November. Yes, we all were looking forward to Maui and were hoping to contend for the title but shit happens in November. Remember last year when Purdue/Michigan/Michigan St. all lost "sure win" games early on? We also lost to EWU but they ended up in the tourney and were a pretty solid team last year. We don't look like a good basketball team at all right now. That being said, these games could help us down the road and its up to Crean to make them help us. A "good" thing to take from this game was that we played relatively poorly yet it never seemed like we would lose. I think we are still trying to adjust to playing with legitimate inside presence and establishing good chemistry on offense. Playing Duke in Cameron Indoor will be the real barometer test for this team. I still believe we have more than enough talent to win a bunch of games and contend for a Big Ten title. *SIGH* -
(2016) SG Bruce Brown to Miami
Sota Hoosier replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I love the idea of targeting the high to mid 4 star guys because a lot of them will stay past their freshman year. I would take 3-4 high to mid level 4 star sophomores vs. 3-4 5 star freshman more often than not. Seems like a logical recruiting strategy. Then, throw in an occasional 5 star one and done as icing on the cake. Cheers to BB! See you on Wednesday! -
(2016) SG Bruce Brown to Miami
Sota Hoosier replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Man, this kid is relentless in attacking the rim. Reminds me very much of a Russel Westbrook type PG. And after an IU training regiment in the offseason??? Watch out for BB. Hope Wednesday goes well for us. The momentum is building! -
Rounding out the '16 class...
Sota Hoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Stating the obvious here....but this class is so key for CTC. He needs to not only have successful seasons (as defined by the IU fanbase) but have sustained success. People have short-term memories and dwell on negatives but if we can be competing for Big Ten Championships and consistently getting high seeds in the tourney and making some deep runs, CTC will be employed here and the fanbase will respond positively. Getting DD was huge let's hope TB learns from the Vonleh experience and stays another year to develop and improve his skillset. I think there is an outside chance JBJ stays so we could be locked and loaded next year, especially if we add a Brown/Alkins/Maker to the mix. TB (DD w/ Juwan/OG/Maker at the 4) DD (Juwan) Maker? CH (OG) Rawle? JBJ (Cujo) RJ (Newkirk) -
Rounding out the '16 class...
Sota Hoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Thanks for the post. Great analysis. Imagine playing Thon at the 3 with DD and TB in the front court next year. That would be an incredibly difficult matchup for any opponent. I think Brown is very realistic and we're in a good spot with him but the spring announcement is a little worrisome. I certainly enjoy his reluctance towards PUke in the meantime. I think 1/3 on these dudes would be great but would be ecstatic to get 2/3. Cheers to DD for joining the '16 class and to CTC the rest of the way!
