Crean you are a decent recruiter, but no head coach. You should donate your buyout to aid in securing a new coach and rebuilding this tattered program.

How many McDAA's do we have on this team? How many 4* and 5* recruits? D poor. RBs poor. Hustle poor. Game strategy poor. TOs better. There I said something positive.

Now it's time to play tight and scared. So much talent ...

FTs please

Matador D and no rebounding

"The refs...in Cameron...please". (If Walton was calling this game)

Here comes the home cooking

Just saw Dukie V on ESPN in a blue cowboy hat at Cameron. I didn't know he was calling the game. Woe is us. Could you imagine Dukie V and Walton on the call?

Certain posters predilections notwithstanding, I just watched the 2002 clip of Duke IU. We could sure use some Moye right about now.

Rotate on D, please. Every time I say it in Bill Walton style because it makes me laugh rather than chucking something at the screen.

Hoosiers rotate on defense, please. (in a Bill Walton voice)

New starting five to prove a point

Bryant did play like a Freshman at times, but no way he shouldn't start. As to whatever occurred between them, I applaud Bryant's passion nonetheless. We need leaders on the court that learn, absorb, impart and put into practice what they should've grasped at this point. I don't care who does it (and Yogi would seem like the natural choice) just that it gets done, so we see a cohesive push with smart play and indomitable displays of energy and effort by every single player that wishes to see time on the floor. -
Will Troy Williams ever be consistent?

I had not heard of that. If true, this is a damn shame. Thanks for sharing. -

There was a Luke Fischer incident? -
So… We have numerous McDonald's all Americans, three players in the wooden award top 50, wake forest has several players suspended and their best player injured, wake is untangled and we managed to lose in the closest thing to a test that actually shouldn't of even that a test? This hurts more than other upsets of top 20 teams primarily because the Hoosiers have so much to prove this year. My fear is with their play yesterday evening they have proven something, but not what we might have hoped.

Indiana vs Creighton Post Game Thread
Hoosiers219 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Was blessed to be at the game. I agree, but emphatically so re: Bryant's minutes and the loss of Hanner. Morgan seems lost, but it early in the season. Those who felt Morgan could stop in and fill the role of Holt immediately were unfortunately exceedingly optimistic. I trust he will produce as he gains his sea legs. -
(2016) SG Bruce Brown to Miami

With BB, IU will have an excellent class that should prove very attractive to some highly sought after 5 stars that plan in spring. Any addition after BB, would be icing on the cake. Heck, I'm thrilled! After the questions regarding whether DD would go elsewhere, this is shaping up to be a very respectable class indeed. -
Excellent summary/analysis by the original poster. I Agree 100% with the proposed course of action.
-
I loved CW, but he did not go to the rim enough for someone of his height for my liking. I agree with the rebound statement. He also seemed to shy away from contact.
-
I would say if we add RA and either keep JBJ or land BB we should have a top 25 team easy. That would be either two MCDAAs in our backcourt and one in our front court or one in our backcourt and one in our front court with with almost all top 100 talent rounding that out.
-
Nice insight. I didn't think of that at all. It is huge though.
-
Understood. I guess I'm just saying that as good as Thon is we could play him at the 4 and he could play to his strengths. Conceivably, if DD did not commit, we would start Thon with Bryant. I don't know how this would change anything really. Why couldn't Thon play a "4" like Troy played a 4 only Thon better suited for the position? I just think we are discussing traditional titles for positions that might not apply in our current scheme.
-
I do not follow your reasoning. Thon can go anywhere and start day one. Alkins can start at guard day one. He would be better than any guard we have left on our roster. I anticipate JBJ will be headed to the NBA and I don't believe anyone would argue that Robert Johnson or Newkirk would be better than Alkins. He would be looking top 10 front courts in nation with Rojo, Newkirk and his substantial talents at the guard spot. I Think this makes the DD commitment more tantalizing to him as an IU commit. Alkins is a one and done playing with top big talent. Just one man's opinion though.

Agree that this will be a shot in the arm re: recruiting when coupled with wins. I don't believe a sophomore Bryant is better than zeller, but I do believe that the combination of Bryant and Davis will be a legitimate powerhouse. One that will actually be more daunting, if not more lauded than Watford/Zeller. If it were not for "the shot", how many people wished that Watford would be more physical and attack the tin with more ferocity? Zeller and Watford were special. I loved watching them. Thomas Bryant and DD are different. It will be interesting to see how Crean fills in the 1-3 around them.
