Okay sorry should have just said not good. Sure we’re deep, we have an entire roster. But leave devonte in too long he starts doing stupid stuff so take him out. Then put Al in and he plays too long and starts doing stupid stuff, so take him out and put in Armaan, and he plays too long and does stupid stuff. Our guards are just not good right now. The argument Archie recruited them is fine, he recruited others too and didn’t get them, this is what we have. They aren’t good right now. Like I said Archie is to blame for stuff but he can’t make shots for these guys he can’t pass for these guys. I’m just as frustrated as any but I’m very curious to see if the same people who think Archie miller is the worst thing to walk on campus since gene keadys first game here and blame him for all the losses will give him any kind of credit at all for any wins here and in the future. I’m sure he told Devonte after a terrible shot or turnover, hey keep doing that. We aren’t very deep at that position. The same players make the same mistakes whether it’s green running point or Al or whoever. We aren’t as deep as we thought we’d be because all of our guards are not good right now. Archie has his flaws for sure, but he can’t make the shots go in, he can’t make guys not throw stupid passes in the game. I like Belein, think he would be great for the program if he were younger. I think the NBA is his last gig, still wants to coach but doesn’t want to mess with recruiting and all the college game requires and then retire for good. That being said to answer your question, I don’t know if he would be the answer at this point. His overall conference record is 57% with his first four seasons 5-13, 9-9, 7-11,9-9. Belein is a system guy. He has said it took him time to build his culture and system. If he came here maybe he’d do better than that from the get go, but it’s not like he’s taking over a great team. I would love to throw some money at Pearl and get him, however with his history I don’t think IU goes for a coach like that (which sucks because those are the types of coaches we need) and second because of his history with the B1G I don’t see him coming back to the conference in general. This is not meant as a personal shot, strictly curiosity as to your opinion. But, people keep saying if we open the check book we can get whoever we want. I’m honestly just curious who you truly think we can get? I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone mention a realistic name other than Beard. I’m afraid many of the coaches we want already make the money you talk or the program they’re currently at will match to keep them because that’s the level coach we want and so will their current program. As far as beard, he’s a good coach, I think it’s a little early to go all in on him. Hindsight is 20/20, before his deep run he was somewhat considered to be the same level as Archie (a younger up and comer, remember Archie was a top name being thrown out to go somewhere big not just for IU). That’s fine. I understand what you want. Not saying what you want is wrong. But as a candidate looking at a potential job, keep in mind this is their job. Sure they can probably end up somewhere else, but if you already have a great job, that compensates you well, and you’re successful there, why would you want to leave for a job that may or may not be that big of an upgrade when there is a slimmer chance of job security. At the end of the day, these guys have jobs and families and have to move their families constantly or move away from their families. You have to weigh the pros and the cons and imo I think for a lot of the top guys we all want the cons outweigh the pros in the year 2020. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Not to go after anyone directly so don’t take this the wrong way, but I think it’s crazy so many people are jumping on Chris for relaying what another coach told him. It’s fine that we all, as fans, have differing opinions on the coach and state of the program. But as fans, our opinions on a forum don’t matter, if the perception amongst coaches is that Indiana will start yelling for a coach to get fired if they don’t like them after two years that is very telling. Like I’ve said before, at the time we made Archie a top 10 paid coach and that was the quality we got, whether you were for it or against it at the time, that’s what we get at this time. If we could pull someone like a Pearl caliber coach away from where they were currently at then I’d be all for it but I don’t see that happening. I’m not saying I want to see Archie here for another 5 years if things continue to progress this way, but it’s insane to fire him after 3 years with no certainty of a replacement, we’ll be back in the same spot we are now. We both know money wasn’t what kept Pitino from coming here. Same with Mack. Unfortunately we have a department that refuses to do anything close to playing the game, which prevents us from getting the guys we want. Maybe the new AD changes that, most likely not. I honestly am not trying to argue with you guys, I want us to be successful just as much as anyone. But as we stand right now, we are not a destination for big time coaches, we just aren’t. No he doesn’t, why would he leave Villanova, an established program he built, contending for deep runs, for what we are now. They will match an offer. I’m not disagreeing with people not liking Archie, I’m just saying we a lot of people’s expectations of who we can get are not realistic at all. I’m not saying I like it, it’s just where we are. We did keep Crean for too long, but the chatter about firing him was very prevalent for a long time. Same with Davis. Rightfully so, I’m just pointing out that coaches aren’t oblivious to that. We paid a guy top 10 money and we already have a mob after him. I’m not saying that the complaints are irrational, I’m simply stating that the demand to win immediately makes its undesirable for people. Not to argue, but I just don’t how true this is in the actual eyes of the candidates some think we should get. When we hired a new coach we made him a top 10 paid coach, and that is who we got. I’ve been a supporter but I will admit I see flaws and concerns but I’m not going to burn the ship. We aren’t going to pull away any of those other coaches in the top 10 salary and if we keep calling for heads 3 years in less and less people are going to want to come and we’ll have to pay top 5 salary for a not guaranteed guy again. I totally understand you’re opinion that Archie is not the guy. Personally I have faith still and am going to wait what happens the rest of the year and next year. But I am curious who you think we could have REALISTICALLY get that would have taken this program to the tournament with success in year 1/2. Mack and Holtmann were never coming, didn’t come, and inherited better teams. I’m just generally interested in to see who the people that have the same feelings as you think we could pluck because with the state the program has been in the last 15 years or so we are never pulling an establish coach at an established program. And if we keep calling for someone’s head after 3-4 years our prospects will continue to get worse and worse. First of all, Absolutely embarrassing loss. But secondly, we’re 8-1, just beat a #17 FSU and have a lotttt of basketball to play. I have been an Archie supporter, but do feel like making the tournament is a must this year. You can always switch to firestick, the new 4k ones have voice control searching so you can just say “open Netflix” or find “X movie”. That’s a good question. I have a firestick and it works fine. You have to download a couple extra apps to get them installed but no issues. Not sure about the Roku.
