[attachment=3080:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1450395942.602046.jpg] Anyone able to catch any of this? Didn't know if it went in to anything further than just Cuban like Crean Answered my own question just saw the video posted. Cuban just says you don't want to lose to duke or the early games but if you lose its good to lose them early and they'll get better. Also said I see the tweets and the emails no I'm not buying him out I want to extend him....

Kind of ties in with me last post admitting I have been wrong, we fire him mid season after a tumultuous start when I would say the majority of fans are ready for it including fencers, don't give them the chance to barely sneak in a tourney and be mediocre again and let the fencers back on the other side. We have to stop playing the he's lost the fan base, well now he has some back, oops now he lost them again. We need to do it at the right time so we don't continue to settle for mediocrity, and I finally am on board saying o think now is the best time. But I do agree with you, the next few months will be interesting to see how things pan out.

I have been strong on the idea of keeping Crean, and suffering through seasons, until we get exactly who we want. I am now 100% sure I have been wrong. I do not believe we make the Mike Davis mistake again. I think the best option now is to part ways with Crean as soon as possible and let an interim take over. This lets coaches know we have an opening and are looking and now puts the pressure on the potential candidates. I think the coaching family is still a family and to some it may look shady if we go asking them to coach is while we are publicly supporting Crean, as if we are going behind his back. Make the opening available, let the idea start to fester in potential candidates mind for the remainder of the season so come offseason they already know it's open. It's time we take control and finally get this position available and begin hardcore researching and sending out feelers.

I had to miss the game so I didn't get to see, but looks like entire balcony is empty and it's pretty much open seating. Five minutes in to the game. Not saying this means anything just found it interesting given someone just mentioned this a day or two ago.

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet from tonight's game, looks like people are starting to take notice. Can't remember who mentioned the idea of boycotting some games [attachment=2978:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1448941825.493571.jpg]

Haven't heard much about Mack from Xavier but I think I would add him to the list to at least take a closer look at. Only one season with less than 20 wins, Three sweet 16s. Not been as good since they moved to Big East, but as I've said before, I honestly think we will be with Crean for a few more years until we know we are getting who we want. I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing, gives us more time to "scout" all these coaches on everyone's list to see if they continue to improve and Creans buyout will continually lower. Obviously Stevens is the number one and number two and number three. But IMO I think it is looking less likely, he is doing very well at Boston with lots of future picks so he can finally begin to shape that team in to his. I think I will begin to pay closer attention and root for some of these other potential coaches on everyone's lost and get more enjoyment from cheering them on then watching the disaster the Crean has put on the floor. ( I will still be watching and root of the Hoosiers on, don't get your panties in a bunch).

For some reason I am on the Archie Miller train. Honestly I think he is the best and most realistic option out there. Let's face It, doesn't look like Stevens is leaving the NBA anytime soon. I have a feeling that we will let Creans contract play out until we find exactly who we want which may be painful for now but I think it's the best option. I would hate to fire him, pay a buyout, and rush a hire and then be stuck in the same boat were in now.

I didn't say it was all on crean, I simply pointed out that your point of a player going left and not being forced right is directly a result of poor scouting report and poor in game coaching. Obviously Crean is not on the court playing, but if someone is not doing their job it is the coaches responsibility to correct it or replace them with someone who can get it done.

Um yes that is exactly what coaching is. That should have been addressed before the game even started in the walk through. That is called scouting, scouting is part of the coaches job. "Hey guys, anytime he catches the ball force him right because he is left handed" Yes the players should have picked up on it, and guess what, if they don't, next time you're in a timeout, "hey guys, have you my noticed he can only go left, force him right" If they can't figure it out yank them and put someone else in thAt can.

    30 second shot clock

Perhaps I should clarify. I did not mean to suggest there is no defense at all in the NBA, obviously these are the most talented players in the world and have to play defense to make it to that level. I guess I meant to say in my opinion, the NBA game focuses very little on defense and is more all about scoring. Obviously my argument is not true 100% of the time and there are examples good offense and defense in the NBA. However as a whole I would argue that watching a College Game you see more methodical game, where the NBA is a more pure entertainment type of game. Butler is a great example I think, I think most would agree those Butler teams did not have the most talented team in the tournament by far but made great runs due to how they played as a team in a methodical approach. A team in the NBA with far worse talent does not typically make any runs at all and consistently stays at the bottom of the league. Just my opinion that the two are two completely separate types of basketball and hopefully will be able to stay separate, nothing wrong with either one individually just a matter Of personally preference.

    30 second shot clock

Hello All, long time reader first time member and poster. Couldn't help but to comment of this. I was a fan of the 35 second shot clock, I think I will get used to 30 but truly feel like moving to 24 will ruin college basketball. I disagree with US kids not being able to handle it, I believe it completely changes what COLLEGE basketball is. I hate watching the NBA because it has become a run and gun little defense game and will be extremely disappointed if the college game continues to move to trying to become the NBA. I love watching methodical offenses that take time to set up and defensive strategies to get an offense out of rhythm and try to break the offense down. This to me is what basketball truly is. Like the post before the shot clock is only there to prevent a stall type offense with no movement at all. The shorter the clock becomes its purpose changes from preventing the stall offense to forcing the run and gun street ball type game. It becomes extremely difficult to run a continuity offense with only 24 seconds. Unless you are sprinting up the court, by the time you cross half court to get Your offense set up you only have roughly 16 seconds to do anything before a shot clock violation. Let the NBA be the NBA and let College be College. I agree that a shorter clock benefit the way Crean runs an offense but I feel this is more about College Basketball as a whole. There is no rule saying you have to use the entire shot clock so really it doesn't affect the Hoosiers offense At all, where truly helps is allowing our guys to play 5 less seconds of defense. I understand others will feel different on this subject, please take it easy on the new guy.
