I think this team goes further in the tournament solely because the regular season won't be as rough. With four Big Ten teams regularly in the top ten that season, we all had a lot of miles on us by the tournament, and I would argue that in that tournament the Big Ten as a whole underperformed (see Michigan State, Wisconsin, Ohio State and even Michigan who I think should have beaten Louisville).

Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?
Striper replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It would only be skewed if the midwest teams reached the Final Four by some sort of random sequence. These teams played their way their and proved themselves to be the arguably the best four in the country, and got there with arguably the best players. I would be interested to see previous year's as well, but given that Duke and UNC have long had an interest in products from Indiana (especially given the smaller population of the state comparatively) I would still think the midwest is generally over represented. -
OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season

Doc, you aren't going to leave us as soon as Yogi graduates? Can I set up dinner at Janko's next year to announce your decision of whether you stay with Btown Banners after Yogi wins the 6th banner? As appreciation for all your comments, my treat. -
Gotta think if it comes down to us and Kentuck,y we would be the wise pick. While Thon has height and great mobility he lacks in some of the basics of the game (as seen by his recent performance) and he needs to beef up before going to the next level (7 foot, 215 lbs aint gonna cut it). IU has developed up a number of players (as Coach Crean repeatedly alluded to in today's presser). Thon goes to Kentucky, has his playing time reduced behind more polished McDonald's All-Americans and never really develops. There may be beefs with Crean's coaching, but the program has developed some good players from lesser stock. Of course this all may be simple overconfidence on my part.

Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources
Striper replied to BriscoeShoemaker's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Seeing that JBJ discussed more the special things they can do next year over the growth he needs to make before jumping to the NBA, my bet remains that Yogi will be back. -
Well this 24 hour waiting game at least led to a nice discussion on the merits of swag.

It is all time and place dependent. When you are beating Purdue by 30+ in Mackey you have my permission to flex towards a student section that would still chant "IU Sucks!". Completely appropriate swag even if you give up a 3 pointer on the other end.

Needed the liquor to smooth out the fun of scrubbing cinders after falls.

Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources

When the rumor is about 2 players you only have a 25% chance to be right. That said, my 25% guess is that they are both back next year and Yogi starts and ends his IU career with fun years. -
You left out the 1347 entry Thon Maker watch thread.

All this happened during Little 5 week? Makes me regret riding...

Maybe the apartment is just a party pad. Don't want the RAs in your business all the time. -

The upcoming steak dinner looks to be uneventful. I'm saving my money and going to Outback instead... -
It isn't the University of Indiana? Damn, I knew something looked fishy on my diploma...

I would think they would be hesitant to give us Butler because of the Crossroads Classic, but Marquette would have all kinds of storylines, especially if played in Milwaukee.

Outback on 3rd Street. Bloomin Onions for all the supporters, friends and families. -
I thought Kentucky was in the mix for him, but this article never lists him as one of the people they are in the mix for, "The Wildcats are also still in the mix for several remaining top prospects who have yet to make their decisions, including scoring guard Malik Newman (No. 4), big man Cheick Diallo (No. 11) and smooth wing Brandon Ingram (No. 12)." http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2015/story/_/id/12655548/kentucky-wildcats-lose-top-seven-scorers-nba-draft

A surprising Hoosier name appears in the top 40, but many more show up in the bottom 40. Anyone surprised? http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/tom-izzo-michigan-state-coaching-final-four/

Thanks for the better visual. One good run for Mike Davis skews the numbers. The other three IU coaches during my lifetime all bring up the rear. The only saving grace is that they all outdid Gene Keady.
