Potential fallout from coaching change
IndianaBB replied to HoosiersLoveBanners's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I apologise to anyone participating in this thread. I posted a reply topic in the wrong thread. I removed the previous message. Sorry one to many windows open. -
Rupp is a mall. LOL Allen Fieldhouse and Cameron are historically great places and should never be torn down. I have been to serveral games at AFH and that place is an incredible place to watch a basketball game. The Kansas program does an extremely great job in embracing it history and tradition. That's all. Edit: AFH has has several updates but it seems they will never mess with the building overall structure.

Assembly Hall is what I am referencing. I agree Cook extremely nice. JMHO

I mentioned in another thread we need a serious facility updating in a big way. The facilities help attract big name coaches and they use that facility to get some top players. The school name, history and tradition can only take us so far in today's recruiting challenges.

I strongly believe part of any future coaching hires require we have some quality facilities in place. I know this is a beaten dead horse but it means a lot in the overall process. The facility lands the coach while the facilities help the coach recruit many of the top players. History and tradition is all good but the above mentioned things are a must to compete.

I totally agree but his a approach is poor and amateurish. Something a blueblood program can do without. -
Potential fallout from coaching change

I live in the KC area. Marshall has played the local media about feeling personally disrespected by Kansas and Bill Self. He really wants Kansas to schedule WSU. Self believes KU has nothing to gain by scheduling WSU now or in the near future. Marshall responds by getting chippy coming across like an angry fool. The guy is a good coach but carries some quirky bad baggage. He truly believes he has payed his coaching dues and is deserving of a blue blood coaching job. His " Play Angry " for WSU is his personal calling card. Many WSU fans believe IU is nothing more than a speed bump to a matchup with Kansas. I believe we can beat WSU and prefer we have nothing to do with Marshall becoming IU's next head coach. -

Marshall is a good coach but fails horribly as a person. He acts like everyone is out to disrespect him. The guy does have some chippy little man syndrome. I think that is why he has never left mid major coaching. He can publicly come across abrasive etc. -
I hope we pass on any consideration for Marshall as our head coach. The guy can coach but has some quirky thinking and can rub some or many the wrong way. I think he has some type of little man chip on shoulder syndrome. Indiana should try to get Stevens back home and coaching the Hoosiers.

KU and WSU think they both can roll past Indiana. WSU fans are foaming at the mouth for a KU WSU match up. Kansas fans look at the Indiana program as a has been and no longer a true Blue Blood. I think and hope IU rolls the wheat shocks. I have personally seen and heard enough living in the heartland and both these fan bases are generally insecure. The downside to Creans success in these upcoming games is extending his coaching life line at IU. I hope at some point IU can take a step forward in coaches. I am making the trip to Omaha and can not wait.
