Roy is an exception I guess, but the other two were to programs that were nowhere in terms of basketball. Those programs could afford to take a chance.

You can't hire Fife to be head coach at this point. Would be even more of a laughing stock among major programs.

I like them both for the different types of basketball and players. You watch the NBA for how absurdly good the players are and you watch college to see how not so good players come together and build winning teams.

Still disagree that even leaks have any impact. All he has to say is "I have no idea where that rumor came from and I will no longer address it." But if a coach is "waffling" about whether to come to Indiana or not, he shouldn't come.

Message boards and most national media has no significant impact on any type of deals. If a coach we offer wants to be here, and be paid the offered amount, it will happen. He doesn't care what some fans say online.

I kinda feel bad for Crean as I think he truly cared about the program and the players. But he's been the coach for 1/3 of my life and doesn't have much to show for it. Thanks Tom, now on to the next chapter.
