What about NZ? He could easily be big ten 6th man of the year next year with all the 3s he makes?

Swanigan hasn't committed yet. Thon is better than lee. Lee hasn't showed he can start or get decent playing time over 2 yrs at UK, so he is probably worse than thon. Bottom line is that thon would probably start for UK, and calipari is telling him that.

Why wouldn't thon start at UK ? Plus, UK has had more national championship appearances in the last few years than any team, so UK has that one covered? (I'm playing devils advocate) right now UK only has one good big man on their roster as in skal. And can someone explain again why Adidas makes a difference vs Nike to thon???

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

I'd love to be dead wrong, but Emmit will now need to focus on learning how to defend a different position than he had learned last year. Last year, he was defending the 5. This year he will defend the 4 mostly. And I change my mind about him regressing. I don't think there is any way for him to regress. The only path is upward for holt. It's not like he could have a slump year shooting, because he never shot the ball last year, or did anything except hustle, rebound, and play intense defense! Plus, we might see him grow another inch, who knows.

With 7 spots open from kids departing for the draft, I'd have to think that thon is going to Kentucky. I would also think thon would be a top priority for Kentucky, as they need top players in their roster

the point of going to college is to up your draft profile. If he weren't playing ball for a college, he might as well go to a prep school or pro team in China or canada

Has your dad seen clips of juwan Morgan? He slithers around like a snake and shows no hustle whatsoever. He will probably adapt to college style, and can also shoot the 3 well. He won't start though for sure if we get thon.

So if we get thon, do we predict April and priller get the boot? Also, it's pretty obvious thon would be a one and done. thon, JBJ, Troy, yogi, and hanner would be gone, and we would have 5 spots to fill, assuming no more Creaning. It could lead to a rebuilding year, once again. We likely would have S means senior that year 2015 Troy Williams 6"7 Yogi Ferrell S 6"0 James Blackmon 6"3 Thomas Bryant 6"10 Hanner Perea S 6"8 --- Robert Johnson 6"3 Collin Hartman 6"7 Nick zeisloft 6"4 Emmitt holt 6"7 Devin Davis 6"8 Og anunoby 6"8 Juwan Morgan 6"8 Jordan Fuchs 6"6 ------ Troy, yogi, hanner, and jbj graduate 4 spots available -------------------- I'm predicting this roster will be ranked from 10- 25 throughout the season. ——-------------------------------- 2016 Thomas Bryant 6"10 Robert Johnson 6"3 Devin Davis 6"8 Collin Hartman S 6"7 Nick zeisloft S 6"4 --- Emmit holt 6"7 Og anunoby 6"8 Juwan Morgan 6"8 Jordan Fuchs 6"6 + 4 more recruits bc t, jbj, y, and h ------- Thomas Bryant, nick zeis, and Collin graduate 3 spots available ------------------------------------------ 2017 Robert Johnson S 6"3 Emmitt holt S 6"7 Devin Davis S 6"8 Og anunoby 6"8 Juwan Morgan 6"8 --- Jordan Fuchs S 6"6 +4 more recruits +3 more recruits

The disappointment on this blog will be unreal if we don't get thon.

    (2016) C Thon Maker

If thon commits to iu, do we expect him to be a 1 or 2+ year player? He has some skills shooting and handling the ball, yet I still think he is very raw, sort of like hanner Perea, and not to mention that he needs to fill out before going to the nba. I think if he committed to iu, he would have a greater chance of staying 2 yrs than being a one and done.

Tom Crean wouldn't let James, a five star recruit, sit. He will probably go pro, and it would hurt his draft stock to be on the bench to start games
  18. So essentially, if Luke would have stayed, would many iu fans have taken back their rage about Tom Crean and would he have been liked better as a coach if Luke Fischer had led us to 4 more wins than without him?

    (2016) C Thon Maker

Is it just me or does Tom Crean recruit foreigners better than most coaches? This might be a reason he got thon to consider iu. For example Dante exum, hanner Perea, Peter jurkin. Also I think Indiana university is an extraordinary attraction for foreign students in general for a Midwestern school , because it offers unique opportunities for foreigners. I'm pretty sure iu gets a lot of Africans in particular for some reason.

    (2016) C Thon Maker

Is it just me, or is thon a really overrated player? People say that he will change the game of basketball. Yes, he can sometimes shoot the 3, he hustles, has decent hands and is 7 foot, but he is so skinny. He will get dominated by the average big ten starting 5. He is like hanner Perea in that he has the athletic potential, but can't use it well. It would be nice to have him at iubb, but I see him only making the impact as a rebounder/ fast break player, not on post ups or defending

No one really has a clue for what Tom Crean might do in terms of Creaning. For all we know, Thomas Bryant might get creaned before signing day

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

He never drove to the hoop from the wing, shot the ball, or made effective passes from the perimeter. All he really did was play decent defense on big men and got rebounds. He had a couple games in which he racked points from layups and put backs. Those were the only skills he displayed. Don't get me wrong-- I loved his hustle and intensity, and I think he stepped up for us. He has potential too. But with thomas Bryant taking his spot he is placed in a position that doesn't max out his worth: which is the 4/wing

Who Will Be Next Year's Hartman or Zeisloft?

I know that JBJ was expected to be great, and he was this year, mainly in the early part of the season. Teams really didn't let him shoot it much towards the end of the season. I think JBJ finds a few ways to get around that over the offseason, and develops ways to contribute even on an off night shooting or when the opposing team won't let him shoot. If he develops better dribble driving skills, then he will take a lot of attention from teams, as he could shoot and drive. He isn't really under the radar, but might be the most improved player/ most effective player for next year. Whenever JBJ was doing his thang, iubb was winning this past season.

    2015 National Championship Game Thread

Troy could be way better than Sam dekker next year if he develops a jumper. Our next years team with experience could be better than both duke and wiscy were this year!
  25. I think it was over hyped like this says. Ron Patterson, hanner, and jurkin and hollowell had nice highlight reels, but just weren't giving in to Crean and what he needed out of them, or what any coach would need, which was excellent team play, smart play, and low turnovers. Perea is a bricklayer, hollowell was creating for himself and as a result had many turnovers, jurkin also a bricklayer and awkward, and Patterson never made it to iubb
