Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)
Miller'sTheMan replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Maybe we can get Oladipo to convince him to come to IU? I'm only half kidding... -
I'm all aboard the Billy Donovan train. We have a real chance to get one of the premier coaches in college basketball. If that means we have to wait, then wait.

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)

Is there anyone credible actually saying Billy to IU is a thing or are we just speculating? -

(2017) QB Nick Tronti to IU
Miller'sTheMan replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I don't know about that one, maybe going into the spring, but he's literally the exact opposite type of QB that DeBord likes to use. -
Biggest changes needed to the football team?
Miller'sTheMan posted a topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
It's the off-season, so lets see what changes everyone thinks are needed for a successful season next year? Mine are as follows: 1) Lagow cannot be the guy, he's displayed time and time again he just doesn't have the accuracy or the decision making to be the starter. I don't care whether it's Ramsey, King, or if we add a grad transfer, but we need someone else who can lead this offense. 2) Speaking of the offense, i'd go after a new OC. I know Johns wasn't the main guy behind the offense while Wilson was here, but I think i'd still split ways after the disaster the offense was at times this season. Maybe a new input or style is needed to get the most out of this unit. 3) Not necessarily a change, but I just wanted to give a tip of the hat to the defense this year, they played OUTSTANDING. Even our depth players were great (Tyler Green had a heck of a game vs Utah filling in for Riggins). The talent on this team is better than any I can remember at IU, but we just need to start turning the talent into more W's. -
Redding and Oliver declaring for the NFL draft
Miller'sTheMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I agree we'll be fine if Scales bolts, but he's a quality talent and you always hate to lose them. Not saying which is in his best interest, but I'm selfish and want to see him come back ;). -
Redding and Oliver declaring for the NFL draft
Miller'sTheMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
It's going to be the Camion Patrick show at RB next season. Sucks about Oliver, but not really surprised and I think we have pretty solid depth there with Covington and Willis, both of whom are capable of stepping in. I hope Scales comes back though. -
Fant and Scales returning next season

Great news, Fant should be one of the top CB's in the country next year. -
Biggest changes needed to the football team?
Miller'sTheMan replied to Miller'sTheMan's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I'd rather just have a QB we don't need to make excuses for. The guy is simply not a D1 quality QB. We can name whatever reasons we want to for why he wasn't, but this past season he was just plain bad. If we want to be a good program we can't just count on our bad players to somehow become good. Can it happen? Perhaps, but if that's what your relying on you're in for a rough year. Not to mention the new OC runs an offense that in no way compliment's Lagow's play style. -

You'd expect him to improve over the course of the season too right? That didn't happen. I'd rather not count on it. -
Tennessee's Mike DeBord hired as new Indiana OC
Miller'sTheMan replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I think this hire signals a clear move away from Lagow. He is not built for the offense DeBord has ran. Seems like Ramsey would be the guy to me barring a transfer, he's the only QB we have who has the ability to scramble. -
Good for Wilson on getting a good job.... But no one in their right mind would prefer being the OC at OSU instead of the HC at Indiana... I know we aren't a great football school reputation wise, but we're in the B1G. There is a reason Wilson left Oklahoma, a HC gig at a power 5 school is always more attractive than being an OC/DC at a better school.

Ramsey is supposedly pretty fast right? He'd probably be the best suited for a spread offense. -

I never really look at twitter because I've found that even relating to the most recent Indiana tweets, a lot of them are stuff I flat out disagree with but looking at Tennessee's forum they're even saying DeBord didn't have complete control over the offense. Apparently Butch Jones had a lot of input and they're upset about that. -

The Tennessee forum i'm skimming through has mixed reactions, but most agree he wasn't a bad OC. -
I think this had to be done. Wilson was the mind behind the offense, not Johns. Allen also seems to prefer a different style of offense so you could see this coming.
-
Not sure, but it'd be a good hire for OSU. Their offensive play calling is atrocious, and Wilson is a pretty good offensive coach.

Biggest changes needed to the football team?
Miller'sTheMan replied to Miller'sTheMan's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
He was really only useful in specific situations. I think he can be a good player, but to become an all around back he needs to drop 15-20 pounds to try to gain some explosiveness. -

I think Patrick should be moved to RB next season. With Harris and Cobbs returning to an already good receiving core we should be set at WR. Redding/Patrick can be a really good RB duo. -

Can we please bench Newkirk? Not only can he not finish, but he can't pass and just drives with his head down until he inevitably misses or turns it over. -

I would start Johnson/Blackmon/Anunoby/Morgan/Bryant Butler struggles on the defensive glass, go with the big line-up and we should be able to grab a lot of 2nd chance points. -

Miller'sTheMan replied to HoosierAloha's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
A chance to add another quality win, Butler doesn't look like a top 25 team on paper, but they routinely outplay their talent. We should win, but nothing would surprise me in this game. -
Fant leaving is going to hurt next year. Riggins is good, but not sure who replaces Fant. Probably Tyler Green, I like him as a prospect, big at 6'3 and fast. I thought he was horrible his freshmen year, and showed quite a lot of improvement this year. Lets hope he continues to improve.

I bet that recruiting class is enough to save Groce, not that I'm complaining about it.
