Archie MIller Press Conference
Miller'sTheMan replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The entire team is at the press conference. -
Not to mention IU should be more than willing to surpass anything OSU would be willing to offer Archie if he's successful here. Remember Archie turned down multiple power 5 offers (NC State comes to mind) in order to wait for the right opening. He obviously thinks very highly of the IU job.

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

He did some stuff with the ball last year that made you just say "wow". Improve his decision making and he mis more than capable of starting. I expect him to start over Newkirk at PG next season. -
True, but every major school in the country is going to be in on this kid. Not just Duke we have to worry about. It'd be one hell of a win for Archie.
-
If Archie lands Romeo I will be beyond excited. Hasn't he been leaning towards Duke for a while?
-
He had 6 scholarship players total one year, and still got 24 wins and won a couple tournament games? That's mightily impressive.

Where did this RoJo transfer stuff come from? I haven't heard his name come up a lot as far as transfers. -

Isn't Jordan Smith more of a wing? -
Dayton fans are pretty pissed to be losing Archie, that's always good news!

Any decent Dayton players eligible to be a grad transfer? -
Neither Dayton nor Wichita State deserved to go home on the first weekend. Dayton got pretty screwed with their draw. Also, while we can talk about Archie's last of consistent impressive tourney success, the fact is he's taken a program that was used to going to the tournament every once in a while and taken them to 4 straight NCAA tournaments including an elite 8. (4 tournament appearances over 4 years, Dayton had been rewarded with 4 total appearances over the last 8 years before he got there). That's a solid body of work anyway you slice it. I know some people have concerns about his recruiting, but it's a lot easier to attract talented players to IU than it is to Dayton.
-
Is nearly a .700 winning percentage supposed to make me not like him?
-
I think you missed the grand canyon sized gap between Coach K and Crean. Miller has taken freaking Dayton further than Crean has ever taken IU. One school is a mid major and the other is a blue blood.
-
The fact we're comparing IU to freaking Dayton says a lot.
-
Yes we can't afford potential! Unless of course the coach we hire reaches his potential, in which case we could afford potential. But yes, we can't afford it!
-
That's a pretty depressing point of view but if you want to go with it, all you!
-
Could be your coach for the next 25 years.
-
His offensive numbers have always been pretty good at Virginia, if I recall correctly. They'd probably only improve here.
-
I'd honestly take Bennett over all of them if I'm being honest. I still think Marshall was our best bet, but I would take Bennett over everyone you listed.
-
He went to the elite 8 last year.
-
FWIW, which probably isn't anything, I saw a rumor over on Reddit by some guy who said IU was pushing Donovan for a decision last night/today, and that Bennett was ready to accept the job today.
-
I'm thinking it will be Bennett.

I get why some people may not want Alford, but This is a pretty good article in his defense. I'm warming up to the idea of him, not saying he's my first choice or even in my top 3, but I'd still have hope if we hire him. https://www.google.com/amp/www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-ucla-plaschke-20170323-story,amp.html

You're questioning whether he can get top level B1G players while comparing his results to some of the top teams in the conferece.... I don't get it.
