(2016) C Thon Maker
Candystriped replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
In every interview Ive read with him they name about 3 or 4 schools are recruiting him the strongest and IU is mentioned every time. So I think we are still in good standing with him! -
(2016) SG Rawle Alkins to Arizona
Candystriped replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I saw Rawle riding around with Coach Martin at HH. I've seen lots of videos of him playing. He looks to be a great pickup! -
Hoosiers have arrived in NYC
Candystriped replied to Basketball4iU's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Technically they came two days early. Great idea to see the city and they got to see an NBA game at MSG, which would be a great experience. -
I apologize if you were offended but at the same time that you complain that Im criticizing your comments when you were the first one to throw my comment about their wing depth under the bus. Don't complain that Im being unfair if you are doing the same thing there partner. I was just trying to have a conversation about the Pacers. I did say why I thought they'd go after somewhere else. They need a better backup big and a better point. Mahimi is a good defensive backup but is a black hole on offense. West is gone is a year or so and Lavoy Allen isn't an NBA starter. They need a playmaker on offense. Someone to set people up and not think shot first. George Hill is more of an undersized 2 guard. I know you already have your mind made up with Levert. I wouldn't mind if he fell to the Pacers but it just doesn't seem like a smart move when they have other needs. Just my opinion. No big deal
-
The Pacers have bigger needs at other positions. Simple as that. Im not going to argue basketball logic with someone who analyzes players as "uhhh they suck" haha conversation over
-
Yeah LeVert has played so far against a bunch of cupcakes. I agree LeVert has a better overall game then Rudez and Copeland (both of whom can easily outshoot LeVert). But there is no way the Pacers take him
-
Quality observation…. Copeland and Rudez fit they role they brought in to play. I guess I shouldn't go into specific for someone who stoops to only saying "they suck" when analyzing a player's game….

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Candystriped replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
They were all dealt with. All players had a run in with the law did their community service, etc. In the eyes of the justice system, they served their time and did everything to correct their mistake. Just because people don't agree with how suspensions were handed out doesn't mean things were dealt with "properly". -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Candystriped replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Its called sarcasm my friend ;) -
PG, Solo,Copeland, and Rudez are all wings. Cope probably only has a year left, but Rudez's contract is for a few more years. I'd rather see them get a real point guard or a good backup big, but I've already hijacked the thread with too much Pacer's talk as it is haha

He is a great player but that wouldn't make sense. They have too many wings as it is
-
Too bad we couldnt get him to transfer here. Kid can straight ball

What?! You mean other schools have off the court issues as well?! Shocking! -
IU vs Savannah State Game Thread

Troy is a headache. He looked so good and composed in Canada but looks more or less the same as last year so far this season -
McCary was going to be suspended by the NCAA for the whole upcoming season. If the NCAA has to step in , thats a little more serious
-
This is not new for Michigan this year. They have barely beat a few cupcakes this year
-
Yeah its not like one of their best players failed a drug test and was going to be handed a full season suspension for the next year before deciding to go to the NBA. Oh wait…..
-
Then again Kansas has been pretty bad this year and Texas also probably didn't yet deserve to be in the top ten as they haven't yet played anyone this year

He has already narrowed down his finalists. Sometimes one just has to realize that its too late -
By the way Kentucky looks terrible against Texas. Texas doesn't look very good either but Kentucky has no offensive strategy at all. They rely solely on their athleticism
-
I made same correlation, Kyle being from Louisiana. It looks like Keith may be from Williamsburg, VA. He played for UNC-Asheville for two seasons before transferring to LSU. His Dad's name is Bruce. Might just have the same last name.
-
Pretty easy, the players who don't play much will most likely be the ones who transfer out

This argument has gotten really old. Did you see what happened last year when Vonleh got the ball, 75% of the time it wasn't pretty. The kid had no post moves and panicked anytime he got double teamed. Of course besides Yogi he didn't have anyone to pass to but Vonleh had his fair share of struggles last year -
Emitt Holt...Better than advertised, or an aberration?
Candystriped replied to Bigdaddy76's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He has an instinct for rebounding and thats what we need at his position. Don't forget that the coach at Vermont Acadamy thought if Holt would've went there for a year and had a little more exposure he would've been a high D1 commit. It may be only one game but the guy has good instincts. His instincts are better than Hanner and Troy's as far as rebounding goes. I just hope Coach Crean continues to give him good minutes -

WAYYY too late. A lot of people don't realize that with recruiting, you can't really come in at the last minute and expect to make an impact on a guy. Not with someone as highly touted as this kid. Most schools have been recruiting him for years on end. Recruiting isn't a easy as most people tend to think
