There goes our front court depth. Probably for the best.

I actually hope he lands in West Lafayette. I like local talent staying in state, even when it doesn't going our way.

Tevin Coleman vs. Melvin Gordon: - Both guys are nearly the same size (TC: 6'1, 210; MG: 6'1, 215) - Gordon's 40 time: 4.52; Coleman's 40 time: 4.39 - 6 common opponents last season: Bowling Green, Maryland, Ohio State, Purdue, Iowa, and Rutgers. Against those teams, Coleman ran for 1196 yards, Gordon ran for 984 - Coleman faced three top 15 rush defenses last year [Penn State(1), Michigan State (6), and Michigan (15)] as well as Missouri (30). The highest rated run defense Gordon faced was LSU (38). - Gordon had two sub-100 yard games (Ohio State, who Tevin had 200 yards against) and Western Illinois who is 1-AA). Coleman had one (Penn State, who had the best run defense in the country) - Coleman faced a much heavier box, as IU played with their 5th string true-freshman QB for half the season last year, who averaged 34 passing ypg his first three starts - Tevin went over 2000 yards last year playing with a broken toe for the second half of the season. If Tevin played behind Wisconsin's o-line and in two extra games like Gordon did, he doesn't fall past the 15th pick. Borrowed from some excited Atlanta Falcons fans.

I have to agree with the guy. I was shocked he fell so far. 7+ yards per carry on the season and 200+ against the champs that held the great Oregon offense to 20 points and held TJ Yeldon (who was drafted well above him) to less than 50 yards). Not even considering our questionable o-line and complete lack of passing attack for most of the season (stacked box focused on Coleman) that's a first round pick. I can guarantee that he's going to be on my fantasy football teams this fall.

I wonder if some the ranking guys that like us (like vegas) base that on the our shot at getting Thon.

25-1? Good enough for me! Getting that sixth banner tattoo tonight.

http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/2015/04/malachi_richardson_trying_to_convince_thomas_bryant_to_join_him_at_syracuse.html Syracuse still seems pretty confident. I'm not getting my hopes up until he signs.

You would think that the only people that UK would pay more than their players would be the people that their players healthy. Three games seems like a really long time for a throat infection. Then again who knows what diseases those Kentucky girls are spreading.

Does anyone have a link for streaming the game? I don't get ESPNU and I've been searching for like an hour. -
Troy Williams - 2 of the top 10 plays
IU Hambone replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That play is the pinnacle of all of the dozens of failed drives where he lost the ball in the middle of the lane. I think OSU were baiting him to try it, like when teams leave a poor 3 point shooter wide open. I hope we see more like it! -

Anyone know of a stream for the game? I don't get ESPN News :( -
I'm on the fence about Crean but I think he coached the game very well. SMUs runs ended with our timeouts and usally turned in a run of our own. I think he defensive adjudtments had a lot to do with the turnovers. Substitutions brought energy when we needed it. Coach had a good game. JBJ still the undisputed MVP for me though haha.

Just got a lot more optimistic about the season. If we can win an ugly game like that we can really make some noise thise year.

I would bet that Troy has more minutes than Z by the end of the game. We will need his size.

I don't want to derail the thread any further and I can see that my opinion is very unpopular so this will be my final post on the matter. My joke was made in regards to DD leaving the rehabilitation facility. All of his progress reports have been positive and I haven't heard anything that would indicate that he would make anything less than a full recovery. It seems undisputed that DD was at fault for the incident, as the police report indicates. Excuse me for not putting him on a petastle for drunkenly running into the road in the middle of the night the evening before an official scrimmage in front of the fans. He clearly made a huge mistake that damaged the reputation of the university and his team. When all of this came out nearly everyone was angry with Troy, Stan, and Holt. Now that we know DD is going to be okay I don't feel bad poking some fun at his mistakes. Sorry I'm non sorry if that makes me classless.

Everyone here, including myself, want nothing but a full recovery from young Mr. Davis. That being said, can it not at least not be acknowleged that he brought this upon himself? This wasn't an injury he sustained on the court or in practice. He made a stupid, selfish mistake that only hurts himself, but also his team and hoosier nation. He seems like a good kid and I hope he's learn something from all of this but to be fair, if this had happened at UK I doubt anyone would be holding back any punches.

Make sure you look both ways before crossing the parking lot on your way out big guy! I'm sorry, that's horrible lol. Seriously though I wish him the best.

Prediction League Game 3 (Week 2) IU vs SMU (11/20/14)
IU Hambone replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
IU - 89 SMU - 75 -
You're probably right. I am concerned about conditioning though. Wasn't Crean just talking about how the players were still only in "practice shape" just a week ago? Having another body will definitly help though if Hartman is playing.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Glad to see some actual basketball talk on here after a rough few days. I was looking at Northwood's roster and they are 17 deep (idk about any possible injuries). Obviously the talent levels aren't comparable, but if I were Northwood's coach I would try to run the Hoosiers into the ground. Full court press all game long, run after every rebound, and just wear us out. It might be a really long 40 minutes for those 8 guys.
