cant lie, it's really appealing. + just drafted schwarber and acquired la stella + most of my friends are cubs fans; games are consistently on tv here; 7-hour difference in the distances from indy to chicago and atlanta + maddon might be the coolest manager/coach in sports; epstein inspires confidence + freed up money will soon build a great rotation and once the plethora of young studs get called up and gain comfort, could see a 5-plus-year stretch like the giants just enjoyed + the central is more competitive than the east   - I've never liked wrigley, needs to be put out of its misery; really the only con I can think of though   braves have over-tested my patience recently. - letting go of former fan favorites and faces of the franchise jhey, prado, huddy, bmac, etc, replaced by players you couldnt possibly win in the postseason with like justin upton, chris johnson and evan gattis, front office has pissed off the fanbase - the money that would've resigned jhey went to bj upton and chris johnson; abysmal player and roster management the past 3-4 years - the feast or famine offense of past couple years is hard to watch and it looks to continue with the appearance they've favored justin upton over jhey; only team that didn't outscore us in 2014 was padres - la stella, one of my favorites, didn't get a fair chance imo - wren disrespected huddy with a 1yr / $2mil offer following a great career with the braves - after wren was fired, the subsequent move of trading his son kyle, a solid cf prospect, to milwaukee for next-to-nothing was classless imo - cant deny it, the laughing indian logo is racist and the tomahawk chop might be too - few games are on tv; tough being a distant fan - the division sucks, fillies fans have a great argument of being the worst in baseball, and bryce harper couldn't be a bigger tool, so I'd be glad to get the hell out of there   the more I think about it, the closer I get.

cubs & cardinals just acquired great players.  saying I'm an unhappy braves fan would be an understatement.  doesn't even feel like the braves anymore without jhey, prado, huddy, bmac, etc.  hate what they've turned into.  loyalty starts to break down when who/what you're trying to be loyal to makes despicable decision after despicable decision.  cant believe I'm actually considering becoming a cubs fan.

game could be blown open.  at least four great chances by my count that should've been converted.   as good as lillard already is, he's made one costly freshman mistake in about every game I've watched.  he didn't clear the ball properly and allowed that maryland goal.  might as well make up for it with a header into the back of the net in the 2nd half.   maryland students brought it today.  great college soccer atmosphere.

to put it in simpler terms, means we've played in 28 big ten tournament finals and 14 ncaa tournament finals in the past 40.  it's a very impressive feat.  sounds even more impressive when you say "70% of all b1g finals and 35% of all ncaa finals" since '73.  chronichoosier does that with stats all the time.  he's famous for it.   over the next 40, if we can appear in 8+ ncaa tournament finals and 18+ big ten tournament finals, build todd yeagley a statue next to his dad's.  the college soccer game and the big ten are tremendously improved.  then the conference adds a powerhouse in maryland to make it arguably the top conference in the country.  we used to dominate the big ten damn near annually.  now, any season that we dominate the conference should get a banner of recognition.  it's simply a much tougher feat these days, not to take anything away from our past teams of glory.

we need to find out what the ncaa record is for combined total threes made by a school's men's and women's programs in one season.  seems we're primed to contend for it.

msu is overrated as well.  we stay healthy and focused and prove to be one of the nation's most lethal 3-point threats, a fourth place finish in conference isn't far-fetched.  there doesn't look to be a big jump between any two teams of indiana, nebraska, michigan, msu, illinois, maryland and minnesota.  assessing 1-14 -- three teams stand out, four teams wont be too competitive, and the remaining seven will be in a dogfight.

greg murray is a phenomenal commentator, masterful for his age.  he's my age, had a class with him senior year (2012).  I've heard him coined as "the voice of IU baseball" several times.  he'll be just as prominent within IU athletics as jeremy gray and chuck crabb.  he and gray sound very similar.

think this win solidifies a top 8 seed, regardless of next game.  what happened with the no-calls?  I turned over to espn as soon as that game started.  great game so far.  colombia is ranked third in the world.  this would be a very nice win.   femi was drilled.  offense went stale after he checked out.  he's gotta do his best to bounce back by ncaa tournament time.  an already inconsistent offense cant afford to lose arguably its best playmaker.

our jerseys look red & white, not cream & crimson.  always hate seeing that.  why have school colors if you're not going to follow them.  our fight song states 'we will fight for the cream and crimson'.  the go big red chant needs to take a hike as well.   same tangent as committing to 'university of indiana'.  we're IU, not U of I, which is illinois, iowa, idaho.  accuracy means something.  I'm probably being anal, but the hypocrisy of wearing red & white jerseys and hearing the chant go big red when you're a university with a strong emphasis on tradition and 'fight for the cream and crimson'...it drives me crazy.   /rant

this team would be fortunate to win 35 games, but I love watching them play.  they bust their asses and play team basketball.  solo is starting to realize his potential.  I like watching copeland too, even if he tries to do too much sometimes.   hibbert needs to go.  surely we'll be shopping him as the deadline approaches.  realgm trade checker says he has trade bonus though.  I dont know what that means.

I'm not a big tosh fan either.  stopped watching a couple years ago because I felt he crossed the line too often, but this was beautiful.  half of his jabs weren't even a stretch.  it's hypocritical though; he stole the soup's format.   if anybody on twitter follows any comprehensive sports news feeds comparable to sportscenter's, please let me know.  I'd love to stop following sportscenter.  it's about as obnoxious as it gets.  have to get that all-in-one sports fix on twitter somehow.

zeisloft hasn't impressed me much.  I saw a confident shooter, as well as a turnover machine and player who will struggle mightily to create or defend on this level.  basically something between a roth and etherington.  rojo has looked great in every facet of the game.  hartman was a beast vs uindy, another high iq player that prides himself on making the hustle and right small plays.  in my eyes, hartman and zeisloft are very close in shooting ability but hartman adds more size to the starting lineup to better compete for rebounds and zeisloft can be the needed guard off the bench.  so first two games I'd go with yogi, jbj, rojo, hartman, hmp complemented by zeisloft and hoetzel....then yogi, jbj, rojo, williams, hmp with robinson, zeisloft, hartman, hoetzel, holt getting significant minutes.  though I agree with others in saying williams will need to earn the starting job back, not immediately starting vs smu.

really nice addition.  brother was highly ranked too and plays for oregon.  he's listed on top of the class on perfect game's indiana commitments page and from what I've been able to gather, sounds like he's regarded as one of the top high school defensive middle infielders in the country.  he said 'university of indiana' though.... ajsdfhiaksasdfjaheinfdkasdhf!!   3b/2b/ss depth sure wont be an issue in 2016 with cangelosi, reynolds, pasteur, holdsworth, krueger and houston, the latter four highly ranked.  the recruiting monster lemonis is on a tear, especially in the midwest just like he said he would.  program's in great hands.   tyra buss is from the wabash mt. carmel too.  archie dees as well, of course.  perhaps it's becoming an indiana pipeline.
